For anyone who is interested in testing this, here is patch data. I would really appreciate feedback of anyone using WS mod that is having game crashing a lot. Let me know if you need assistance applying it (you'll need hex editor and basic understanding of hex).

replace:
80 02 00 00 -> 0x0280 -> 640 -> x coord big endian hex
E0 01 00 00 -> 0x01E0 -> 480 -> y coord big endian hex
This fix worked for me. Windows 7 64-bit; used HxD (hex editor).
Remember if you attempt this fix, (open torment.exe) search (usually Ctrl + f) for the strings pasted above, make sure that you are searching for Hex-values, and not some other data type.
It continously amazes me how much dedication is put into a game over a decade old. I never played it when it was originally released, but I did enjoy BG and BGII. Every problem I've had has been solved by this forum and google. Very cool.

I put together a quick patcher until bigg gets around to updating his mod with fix. I won't include this as part of fixpack because it is a bug specific to his widescreen mod. Anyway, its command line interface. You just enter in x and y coordinates and it takes care of patching. You'll need to run it in the same directory as Torment.exe and as admin if you're on vista or win7. You might want to make a back up of exe just in case before patching.

Those interested in the classic TBS game Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri / Alien Crossover should check out the unofficial patch I work on here.

I'm sorry, this is all far above my head. I've downloaded the file from your link...but what exactly and specifically am I supposed to be entering?

The x and y coordinates of the resolution you are playing the game in. In my case for example that would be 1920 and 1080.

Minsc, here, give these a shot. I didn't download your files, just zipped up and uploaded my own versions of those files.
I'm thinking just extracting these in whatever folder you copied your CDs to should do the trick. If it doesn't, then you may want to uninstall everything (WeiDU mods first, then the game, then remember to wipe out the override folder, that is key), then install the game, then replace these files in the CD folder, then reinstall the patch 1.1 and fixpack.
Qwinn
I've done everything mentioned here (including un/reinstalling everything) and my game crashes, inevitably, every single time I try to enter the Linguist's. I have no problem (as of yet) entering any other building but this one. And as this appears to be game-breaking I have no idea what to do. Can anybody help??

Windows 7 x64 btw, 1920x1080
*update*
It appears to be crashing completely at random, I might be able to run in and out of a building 15 times without a crash but sooner or later it will crash, usually within 5. I've tried creating a new game and speed running to the Hive but I get the same result.
*update*
I've reverted to an older version of the widescreen mod, v2.20 for anyone interested, the only other old version I could find was v2.60 but unfortunately it crashes just like the current version, been playing a good few hours with 2.20 now, no crashes

Hey, this patcher fixes my crashes, but it causes another issue... all characters seem to appear above everything, as if they were on the closest layer to the screen, they do not walk under arches, or doorframes only on top.
Would manually hex editing work? Could anyone tell me the hex for 1280x800?
Thanks.

I installed the GOG.com version of Torment yesterday (on my Vista system) along with the five mods. All seemed to be working nicely up until this point.
I am on the third floor of the Mortuary and even though I can open the map / inventory / menu / etc. by clicking on the screen, keyboard shortcuts (ESC, M, I, and so on) will immediately crash the game to desktop.
What's the problem here?
This doesn't happen on the second floor.
I ran the game once in administrator mode, but the issue's the same.

In fact, pressing any key whatsoever crashes the game. Number keys for dialogues... even the Windows key.
Sorry for the double-post.

I applied the fix directly through the hex editor and am seeing the same behavior. Character sprites are now sorting incorrectly. They appear on top of things that they should be behind. (like buildings)
