but I do have one request if someone can post a screenie of what their mods extracted look like or their SOA directory... thankyou so much.

Well here's mine, as I said it wasn't too dissimilar from yours. Hope things work out for you.

@Sheriff of Nothing: hih, all your n00bness belongs to us... But so does everybody else's to you.

 My 4+ years away from this game has now been exposed after just a couple of days!

Mind you, everybody here has certainly moved things on since I remember helping to distribute Bardez's original BGT from the old Team BG site. 650 MBs via eMule at 4 kbs. Happy days!!..........no wonder my PC gave up on me.

maybe its because Ive been trying to use BDASH W/ Bg2 FIXPACK AND TWEAKS?

No, they go with each others fine, as long as you don't have the non-WeiDU version of the BDash...

Hunk #2 FAILED at 1202.

This is interesting; Which BGT version are you using, as it should be the BGTv1.07 WIP.

Yes I am using that version of BGT.. It always crashes at the xar0602 or AR0015.... I have no idea what I am doing wrong

I want to use the auto install BAT but something about it won't let me.. It is almost impossible for me to do it manually

Sounds not good. :(

I've this posted in post #2:

I've been trying start up for a while now and Ive been getting my install bat file crashing.. heres the debug log

Have you tried the new BWP v5.5.2? And do you have Windows XP or Vista? If you have Vista you could get problems with our BW Fixpack. Here you can read how you can fix it then (post #34).

Have you Windows XP or Vista?

A Megamod does not mean that you can play all of the mods or all of their content,
but you have more choices or paths through the game.

Have you tried to re-download the BGTv1.07 WIP, as the pack might be broken... and make sure you unpack the mods to a clean and packed ans started BGII install.

I don't think it does, but I did encounter a slight problem when I was trying to get my BGII install to work from the 4 in 1 packaage that could be causing your issues. The problem is that the files in the BGII DVD are organized slightly differently than they were on the CDs. For me this caused me headaches when I tried to run the game because my computer didn't like something or another about the way the files were organized.

Off the top of my head, the differences I recall are that somewhwere your laguage folder are the movies that play at points during the game. These are supposed to be in the movie folders in the CD folders. Also there are a couple of animation files that were present in all of the cd folders. Unfortunatly I can't remember the file names. I'll try to remember to look at the file names when I get back home.

I don't know if it matters at this case, but you haven't started the game(so you can make proper configuration on the game) the recommended, 1 that might be needed as you clearly don't have the Save directory in the game folder...
You should start the game, make a new char or import one of the already made, and then exit after the game has auto saved...all this before you copy any mods. And then make that game directory as a clear backup by copying it to another directory.(so you don't have to restart the whole process again and again, as you can just throw the ruined BWP install away to trash and copy the clear backup.)

For me it looks like this is a problem with Vista, but I don't know why? I'm using Windows XP, so I can not really help you here, because the BW Fixpack runs smoothly for other gamers... :(

What I see is, that the BW Fixpack patching is working on your machine, but the next step is to copying the BGT file jaheir6.cre, where your computer stops.

This is normally the next step:

...
patching file `BGT\Compat\BGT\Replace\xAR0602.BAF'
copying files ...
BiG World Fixpack\BGT\_copy\Compat\BGT\jaheir6.cre
1 File(s) copied

Could that be a problem with Vista in the point of replace one existing file? Is Vista blocking this?

Well, if the User Account Control is on, it might prevents it... but it should prevent a lot other things too, already. :whistling:

I have run every BWP (manually) on Vista everytime. Like Jarno said with User account, turn the bloody thing off or install to a whole new directory (C:/Games...). Better to turn UAC off the whole time for the installers as the UAC check might happen every time you install something. Can't blame Vista as I have been doing BG megas on the Vista OS for a year now.

Who ever is having this trouble should try to manually install up until the specific mod fails. Then you know it is the data and not the installer of BWP.
