I have run every BWP (manually) on Vista everytime. Like Jarno said with User account, turn the bloody thing off or( ) install to a whole new directory.

Actually you have to do both if you have Vista and turn the Read-only flag off, but as Larry89 says he has XP, so this won't help. Now I do not know what's is wrong with his installation, but it might be that he has unusual Virus protection software or something that needs to be turned off while installing as they might restrict the procedure(so it's best to disconnect from the Web while the installation if you have the protections software off). Don't really know. And it's suggested that the newer 4 in 1 packs might have some problems with mods, but as I don't have them...

Oooh, I haven't tried BGT 1.07. Is that the one that chokes?

No, the new version is running fine.

@ Larry89
Is this the BG version you have?
http://www.amazon.co...C/dp/B000FGA1US
In another thread it is mentioned that this BG version is working and others could have problems, because of the new way, like the publisher installed the games. Don't ask me, why the publishers are doing this...

But your problem is not your game. Our "BW Fixpack" makes the problems on your machine. O.K. Download the "BiG World Fixpack" and "BGT" again and try to start the "BW Fixpack" only without the installer.

What happens?

Can you upload the "BiG World Debug.txt" (it is in your BG2 main directory) after you tried this?

Greetings Leomar

A Megamod does not mean that you can play all of the mods or all of their content,
but you have more choices or paths through the game.

yes that is the version I have let me see..

.... dammit

Leonardo's BiG World Fixpack v6.0.5
-----------------------------------
processing fixes for "BGT"
patching file `BGT\Base\BAF\AR0015.baf'
patching file `Setup-BGT.tp2'
patching file `BGT\Compat\BGT\Replace\xAR0602.BAF'
copying files ...

all that I put in the freaking directory was WEIDU 208 BGT and BW FIXPACK AND RAN THE FIXPACK!

I'm gonna format my comp start fresh and see what happens..

Please let us know, what happens then.

The problem on your computer is, that the batch-files stops by automatic copying and overwriting files. So something on your computer must block it. And please post your "BiG World Debug.txt" too next time.

I created a new thread before I read this one. (thread found at: http://www.shsforums.net/index.php?showtopic=37984)

It appears Larry and I share the same problem. The fixpack just stalls at a random point somewhere.

If you want I can post my computer specs, using win Xp SP3 btw.

Is there a way to manually patch the files in the fixpack? thus removing the need for it to run automatically?

Cheers.

 Hmm, could the Win Xp SP3 be the faulty part, as it adds "Security options in Group Policy/Local Security Policy user interface"... meaning that that could be alike the User Account Control in Vista...
Try to switch the options and see if it helps.

I solved the problem.

After opening and shutting down the installer a bunch of times (each time there was a chance another mod was patched). I tried a tip given in this thread. I shut down my wireless receiver and anti virus program (Panda Antivirus). I restarted the installer and it worked like a charm!

So, my problems are solved, Larry I hope this helps you as well.

@ Boy at a busstop

Nice to hear, that you solved the problem. We know, that antivir software/firewalls can coruppt the installation, therefore you find in the first post of our BWP thread this:

- Disconnect the internet and disable all antivir software/firewalls
- Start the ?BiG World Install v5.5.2.bat? and follow the on-screen instructions

Now we see, how important this is and we'll write a note for it in the next BWP guide, too.

@ Larry89

Have you anything else in the background running, so that could stops the batch-file?
Have you disconnect the internet and disable all antivir software/firewalls like Boy at a busstop described?
