however, atm i'm at setup-bgt.exe, installing bgt core, and it seems to be frozen
creating 1 directory
copying 1 file...
copying and patching 1 file...
copying and patching 1 file...
copying 1 file...
and now it's done a whole lot of nothing for upwards half an hour.
accepts input too, i can write fish or whatever, press enter, get a newline, but nothing seems to be happening.

It that case it's actually: "C:\Program Files\Black Isle\Baldur's Gate" with the quotes, as you need them cause you have spaces between the directory letters.C:\Program Files\Black Isle\Baldur's Gate\ or whatever.

you mean this?
%IFS%BGT%MODG1% Voreingestellt ist: %IFS%BGT%MODG1% C:\Programme\Black Isle\Baldur's Gate %IFS%BGT%MODE1% If your folder Baldur's Gate is not to be found in the preset directory, %IFS%BGT%MODE1% the program stops and you see below on the left only the flashing cursor. %IFS%BGT%MODE1% Write then the path for your Baldur's Gate 1 game. %IFS%BGT%MODE1% Preset is: %IFS%BGT%MODE1% C:\Program Files\Black Isle\Baldur's Gate %.% %.% %.% %.% %.% %IFES%BGT%S%BGT%L%0 --force-install 0 --args-list sp "C:\Program Files\Black Isle\Baldur's Gate" | %M% %IFGS%BGT%S%BGT%L%4 --force-install 0 --args-list sp "C:\Programme\Black Isle\Baldur's Gate" | %M% %IFGS%BGT-NPCSound%S%BGT-NPCSound%L%0%SK% 0 2>NUL | %M%
it already says "C:\Program Files\Black Isle\Baldur's Gate", which is exactly where i have it, default directory.
and it goes about as if it's copying and stuff, giving the output i typed in my prev message, it just stops doing anything for some reason.
no error code, no warning.

Hmm, what size the BG1's directory is? As it needs to be unmoded and about 2.5 GBs, or then the installation is not full custom install with all boxes checked on both installs(Baldur's Gate and Tales of the Sword Coast), as it needs to be and it needs the v5512 patch.no error code, no warning.

Do you have all these? If not, well you need them in the C:\Program Files\Black Isle\Baldur's Gate\data -folder.2.77 gb, i put all movie files from the cds in the movie folder, and all the cd files in the main folder, so i have a bit of overhead.

I remember doing this about a year ago and it worked fine. Am I missing something? And can I trigger the event with a console command?
edit: ahh! its because the spellshaper kit was not installed by default in the big world project...
am I going to have to do this all again? is it possible to include the Spellshaper kit? I guess I could just be a normal wild mage and get mage HLAs and forget the thief skills of the spellshaper.

No, you can install the mod kit's after the BWP has ended it's installation, but be warned that you might come across few bugs, if the mod kit over writes already used resources. You also need to be really careful when installing already partially installed mods, alike the Wild Mage additions, because you need to skip all the already installed components, or the program just makes a loop that kills the whole BWP intent.am I going to have to do this all again? is it possible to include the Spellshaper kit? I guess I could just be a normal wild mage and get mage HLAs and forget the thief skills of the spellshaper.

Well yes. Ahead of time, you just need to change the number settings, by editing the BiG World Install vX.bat with text editor(notepad), and save it... the vX means the version number, currently v5.5.1 .So in case I have to redo my install, is there anyway to install the components with seetings other than the defaults?
This line is for example:
%IFES%scs%S%scs%L%0%SK% 10 20 30 1000 1030 2000 2020 3001 3020 3050 3070 4000 4010 4020 4030 4050 5000 5010 5022 5032 5042 5050 5060 5070 5080 5090 6000 6010 6020 6030 6040 6050 6060 6070 6080 6090 6100 6110 6120 6130 6140 6150 6160 6170 6180 6190 6200 | %M% %IFGS%scs%S%scs%L%2%SK% 10 20 30 1000 1030 2000 2020 3001 3020 3050 3070 4000 4010 4020 4030 4050 5000 5010 5022 5032 5042 5050 5060 5070 5080 5090 6000 6010 6020 6030 6040 6050 6060 6070 6080 6090 6100 6110 6120 6130 6140 6150 6160 6170 6180 6190 6200 | %M%Depending on you language you choose, edit the IFES -line for English, or IFGS -line for German, or edit both lines just-in-case. As you can see, it says scs(scs%S%scs), it means it's the SCS(1) that you are looking, the other numbers are the installation component numbers, so you have to know what each of them are, here is a list off most of them(well the list is actually in the sub-groups under the puzzle piece).
Now, if you don't want the component number 3001, you just remove it from the numbers, and you can also add other numbers if they are not in the list, but remember they might cause bugs etc.

Ahh, the problem there s because of the BiG World Smoothpack.bat, as you are able to do the choosing whether you want the presets or make your own decisions. The smoothness pack prevents this, as it blocks the expanded choices as that code itself gives you the ability to choose 0 or 1, 1 being the pre-made choices(which is automatically chosen if you have the BiG World Smoothpack.bat), and zero giving you the choice from 1, 2, 3 or 4 -which is what you want....
So you might need to install it without the "BiG World Smoothpack.bat" in the directory. I just want to warn you that this will also slows your installation considerably.

Thanks for your good comments about the BW Fixpack.I have begun manual installation BiG_World_v5.5 and I had some questions:
This is outdated and we'll include a new Vault fix in the next BW Fixpack version.1. In a manual nothing is spoken about two files TOSCEND.2DA and TOSCST.2DA from folder 'BiG World Fixpack\override' They need to be copied right at the beginning of installation? Up to BG2 Fixpack-v6? And for what mod they are necessary?
We'll check it with our next installation.2. In the recent BWP release (6.02), there is a folder 'BiG World Fixpack\_override\scs' that contains the fix - ANDRIS.DLG, this actual patch for Sword Coast Stratagems v9?
We deleted the fix now. We can't install the fix of erebusant and we think that was reported before, too.3. Also, in folder 'BiG World Fixpack\ _ override\NTotSC' contains fix - AR6745. BCS. This fix does not work? It is still necessary for NTotSC4BGTv160a/162a?
Is now not needed anymore. It could be, that another fix take place of it. We deleted the comment about that, now.4. In point '10.6. Ding0's QuestPack v2.3' - It is necessary to replace a file kit.ids, but BiG World Install v5.5.bat refers to a nonexistent folder 'expanded ids files'. I so understand, it is necessary to save manually kit.ids before installation Ding0's QuestPack v2.3 and then, will replace his?
You're right, this is required. Sorry, this file exist a long time in our NeJ directory and we have not seen that this is the original file. We have fixed it, now.5. In point 3.1.3. fix 'Setup-NeJ2.tp2.patch' does not delete line - REQUIRE_FILE
Now we have found the problem. The G3 version of this mod is not the same we got from Cliffette's homepage before. Cliffette's version has some empty folders, which are missing, now. Additional two new files are added in the G3 version. Is fixed, now.6. In point '11.4. Every Mod and Dog V EMaDv3_260605' - installation suffers failure because of error in setup-emad.tp2. It is necessary to remove a line 'COPY ~emad\Bizzen\Sounds~ ~Override~' in file setup-emad.tp2.
Yes, see "\BiG World Fixpack\_BWP fixes.txt".7. In manual nothing is spoken about patch from the folder BiG World Fixpack for 'Ascension v1.4.23', 'Spell Revisions v2', etc. They are necessary?
These fixes become not installed with the BW Fixpack. The BW Install.bat does that. The other mentioned fixes are none additional files. The Install.bat copies the files from backup folders to the override folder.8. In a folder _Hotfixes only 2 fix whereas in _Hotfixes.txt it is spoken about five. They should be added manually?
The mod has to less content, so we decided not to inlcude it in our BWP. But we had problems to install this simple mod. This is the only place, where you can install Jandor in the installation order, so we let it in, to remember the place.Besides in file BiG World Install v5.5.bat there is a line ' %IFS%Jandor%S%Jandor%L%0%SK % 0 | %M%Jandor ', but it is not present in a manual.
Greetings Leomar
