replaced the goto to goto tobcheck, seems to work fine now.
however, atm i'm at setup-bgt.exe, installing bgt core, and it seems to be frozen
creating 1 directory
copying 1 file...
copying and patching 1 file...
copying and patching 1 file...
copying 1 file...

and now it's done a whole lot of nothing for upwards half an hour.
accepts input too, i can write fish or whatever, press enter, get a newline, but nothing seems to be happening.

Gotta look at the paragraph that has been printed a few lines above that. You need to write in the path to your baldur's gate 1 install at that time. C:\Program Files\Black Isle\Baldur's Gate\ or whatever.

It that case it's actually: "C:\Program Files\Black Isle\Baldur's Gate" with the quotes, as you need them cause you have spaces between the directory letters.

it already says "C:\Program Files\Black Isle\Baldur's Gate", which is exactly where i have it, default directory.
and it goes about as if it's copying and stuff, giving the output i typed in my prev message, it just stops doing anything for some reason.
no error code, no warning.

Hmm, what size the BG1's directory is? As it needs to be unmoded and about 2.5 GBs, or then the installation is not full custom install with all boxes checked on both installs(Baldur's Gate and Tales of the Sword Coast), as it needs to be and it needs the v5512 patch.

2.77 gb, i put all movie files from the cds in the movie folder, and all the cd files in the main folder, so i have a bit of overhead.
it's custom, all ticked, 3disc ver, with totsc.
i get no prompt to ask me for a path in the batch screen, and like i said, i used all default paths, which are the ones in the batch.

Do you have all these? If not, well you need them in the C:\Program Files\Black Isle\Baldur's Gate\data -folder.

Hey I was going over the install options for the guide as I get ready to do my install, and I noticed an inconsistency. The Collector's Edition Bonus Merchants are listed in two places in the guide, Baldurdash and BG2 Tweaks. The merchants aren't installed inBaldurdash, but when the guide gets to BG2 Tweaks it says that the item is skipped over because they have already been installed by another mod. So is there another mod that sneaks them in or is this just a slight oversight?

after installing Wild Mage additions and playing for a day and a half I can't figure out how to become a Spellshaper. It says that if I'm a non-lawful wild mage I can trigger the event to become a Spellshaper when I'm in combat and badly hurt. However, I've been in combat and reduced to one hit point and I haven't gotten any event. It says the other way to become a Spellshaper is to study Rialto's spellbook and learn a spell called Chaos Conduit. However I got Rialto's spellbook and studied it as much as possible and I haven't found a spell called that at all.

I remember doing this about a year ago and it worked fine. Am I missing something? And can I trigger the event with a console command?

edit: ahh! its because the spellshaper kit was not installed by default in the big world project...

am I going to have to do this all again? is it possible to include the Spellshaper kit? I guess I could just be a normal wild mage and get mage HLAs and forget the thief skills of the spellshaper.

No, you can install the mod kit's after the BWP has ended it's installation, but be warned that you might come across few bugs, if the mod kit over writes already used resources. You also need to be really careful when installing already partially installed mods, alike the Wild Mage additions, because you need to skip all the already installed components, or the program just makes a loop that kills the whole BWP intent.

Yesterday I was finally doing my install, and I admit that the installer wasn't as painful as I thought it would be although I think I got a few components I didn't want to. However there was one problem that stumped me. When I was doing BG1NPC and Gavin(I think) I wanted both of them to be installed with 15 min between all the lovetalks, so I edited the installers so it was <4 instead of <1 for BG1NPC and left Gavin as it was, as I believe that was the default setting. However when I got to both of those mods, the BWP installer just closed without saying anything. I changed them to 1s and deleted all mod installation instructions before them, as it closed between mods so no resources were being altered at the time, and then just continued the install. So in case I have to redo my install, is there anyway to install the components with seetings other than the defaults?

Well yes. Ahead of time, you just need to change the number settings, by editing the BiG World Install vX.bat with text editor(notepad), and save it... the vX means the version number, currently v5.5.1 .
This line is for example:

.....Did you read my post? I mentioned editing the installer in it. My problem was that when I did this:

Ahh, the problem there s because of the BiG World Smoothpack.bat, as you are able to do the choosing whether you want the presets or make your own decisions. The smoothness pack prevents this, as it blocks the expanded choices as that code itself gives you the ability to choose 0 or 1, 1 being the pre-made choices(which is automatically chosen if you have the BiG World Smoothpack.bat), and zero giving you the choice from 1, 2, 3 or 4 -which is what you want.
So you might need to install it without the "BiG World Smoothpack.bat" in the directory. I just want to warn you that this will also slows your installation considerably.

Not any further ideas, have you been ever been able to install one of the BGTv1.0x mods to your game?

don't know, i did this all on a fresh re-install, put all movie files from all discs in the movie folder, all data files from all discs in data folder, and put all discs in their own folder (cd1, cd2, etc), 3 disc version with totsc, which is pre-patched from the get-go.

I have begun manual installation BiG_World_v5.5 and I had some questions:

Thanks for your good comments about the BW Fixpack.

1. In a manual nothing is spoken about two files TOSCEND.2DA and TOSCST.2DA from folder 'BiG World Fixpack\override' They need to be copied right at the beginning of installation? Up to BG2 Fixpack-v6? And for what mod they are necessary?

This is outdated and we'll include a new Vault fix in the next BW Fixpack version.

2. In the recent BWP release (6.02), there is a folder 'BiG World Fixpack\_override\scs' that contains the fix - ANDRIS.DLG, this actual patch for Sword Coast Stratagems v9?

We'll check it with our next installation.

3. Also, in folder 'BiG World Fixpack\ _ override\NTotSC' contains fix - AR6745. BCS. This fix does not work? It is still necessary for NTotSC4BGTv160a/162a?

We deleted the fix now. We can't install the fix of erebusant and we think that was reported before, too.

4. In point '10.6. Ding0's QuestPack v2.3' - It is necessary to replace a file kit.ids, but BiG World Install v5.5.bat refers to a nonexistent folder 'expanded ids files'. I so understand, it is necessary to save manually kit.ids before installation Ding0's QuestPack v2.3 and then, will replace his?

Is now not needed anymore. It could be, that another fix take place of it. We deleted the comment about that, now.

5. In point 3.1.3. fix 'Setup-NeJ2.tp2.patch' does not delete line - REQUIRE_FILE

You're right, this is required. Sorry, this file exist a long time in our NeJ directory and we have not seen that this is the original file. We have fixed it, now.

6. In point '11.4. Every Mod and Dog V EMaDv3_260605' - installation suffers failure because of error in setup-emad.tp2. It is necessary to remove a line 'COPY ~emad\Bizzen\Sounds~ ~Override~' in file setup-emad.tp2.

Now we have found the problem. The G3 version of this mod is not the same we got from Cliffette's homepage before. Cliffette's version has some empty folders, which are missing, now. Additional two new files are added in the G3 version. Is fixed, now.

7. In manual nothing is spoken about patch from the folder BiG World Fixpack for 'Ascension v1.4.23', 'Spell Revisions v2', etc. They are necessary?

Yes, see "\BiG World Fixpack\_BWP fixes.txt".

8. In a folder _Hotfixes only 2 fix whereas in _Hotfixes.txt it is spoken about five. They should be added manually?

These fixes become not installed with the BW Fixpack. The BW Install.bat does that. The other mentioned fixes are none additional files. The Install.bat copies the files from backup folders to the override folder.

Besides in file BiG World Install v5.5.bat there is a line ' %IFS%Jandor%S%Jandor%L%0%SK % 0 | %M%Jandor ', but it is not present in a manual.

The mod has to less content, so we decided not to inlcude it in our BWP. But we had problems to install this simple mod. This is the only place, where you can install Jandor in the installation order, so we let it in, to remember the place.
