How come she won't romance a female CHARNAME without a happy patch or messing with globals, then?  If a female can only get so far in the love talks before they stop... why not just continue them for the female?  Then folks who hack the romance with a female PC don't get stuck with male pronouns at the end.

Because that is how Arian coded it.

If people want to change the game on their machine, that is their choice. The original intention of the first creator will be kept, which is why when I go to editing I will remove all the various action dialogues on the lovetalks, and make it conform to the original.

You know my opinion on that matter, Bri, as I've mentioned it a number of times before. But I can't help but to chime in here again, to say I hope you leave the actions in, or at least partly. They do add life to the dialogues and character. Besides, some situations are hard to explain if you don't use the action sequences. But it's your decision, of course.

I'm sorry, could someone explain about this action dialogue business, or point me towards a discussion where it's explained? Also, how it relates to my question on PC gender? I'm just confused. Thanks very much.

Forgot to mention: my original question is just based off my impression of Tashia's personality, based on the quote provided.

Judging from the response my question did get, the original author was strict about keeping Tashia from exploring same-sex romance, I take it. I just think it'd be nice to provide the option

It's related in a way that Bri doesn't want to change the original author's context, simply add to it. Actions in dialogues (such as: (Tashia hugs you) or something similar) would be a change in style, as they aren't present in the existing dialogues. Making Tashia bi-sexual would be quite a change in character, indeed, not to mention require tons of new LT's (it would be a totally different relationship).

Would it be nice to provide the option? Perhaps, but it might not be in the character of the NPC. The quote you used doesn't mean she'd fall in love with a female NPC (this is a new dialogue BTW, so it's not even in the mod), just that she's already in love and doesn't care anymore then. Big difference.

Lord Ernie is correct. The quote comes from a Lovetalk that would occur after the romance with Tashia is well established, and if the Bhaalspawn is changed in sex (ala the Belt of Gender Change). By this time, Tashia would love the person inside, not the external shape.

I may be wrong, but isn't the only way to get the belt of gender changing by cheating it in?

This is true. You can also change gender by a wild surge can't you?

Aye. There is a wild surge 'sex change', but IIRC it's temporary.

Or else by acquiring it in BG I.

Even if not, there were plans to allow one to pick it up at some point.

I'm not sure how the game handles cursed items, but I don't think it carries across. On entering SoA all your items are dropped on the ground and deleted. It's unlikely that cursed items escape this treatment, though.

I'm probably very much mistaken having not player the first Baldur's Gate or Tales of the sword coast. But doesn't the game bring some item's across such as the Golden Pantaloons. I except that I may be wrong in this, but I do not believe I am. Also If you pause after importing a game while the screen is still black, you can drop all your equipment, except the bag of holding which disappears on game start. And as long as you have dropped all the items from the inventory during the pause, by pressing "I" for those who did not know, you can pick up all your item's again once you have control again. I found this out by accident after importing a game from Throne of Bhall, and started going through things n my equipment, including setting my spells etc.

Oh and I am looking forward to the release of the Tashia Romance, it sounds very good.

Aye, but pausing the game to drop your items is actually cheating. You're definitely not meant to do that. Sides, if you're wearing the belt, you can't drop it, since it's cursed.

Oh, and the pantaloons would indeed not be removed, I think. As I said, I haven't checked the scripts.

Personally I see it as more of a glitch as it doesn't use the console or shadow keeper or anything similar, or the editing f any files. Also I wasn't suggesting that you were wearing it simply that it was in your possesion.
