So, you see, there's more to a quiver than you would assume at first.

uhm... very interesting... I need to do more researches!!

EDIT: I've got a question about side quivers: as far as I have seen, it seems that most people hang it on the same side of their 'drawing hand' like here http://www.blueridge.../qvrflzsz/1.jpg am I correct?



That is correct, yes.

And Icenodan, I suppose it would also have a chance at catching on undergrowth. But then again, if you step over something on the ground easily, you most likely won't. Also, with the quiver hanging that way it is more flexible in its movement - of course, that one doesn't look like it has the arrows secured, so you have to be careful not to tip them over.
