You can also do it in dialogue as well, by adding it to a default dialogue.

Just remember a global check on your scripting! Otherwise, it will set it to 1 continuously, not caring if you are at 2 or 3, or even higher.

Something like:

IF
  GlobalLT("SarevokRomanceActive","GLOBAL",1)
  ...
THEN
  RESPONSE #100
   ...
END

You're just too picky, Orthodoxia. :whistling:

I usually have 18 for STR, DEX, INT and CON. I reroll for high stats and pull points from CHA and WIS, because fighter and thief are my main classes. I've played with a mage, but I prefer to be on the frontlines. If I have to, I go in with Shadowkeeper and boost all my stats. I cheat religiously.

For Azkyroth:

We'd love the help, especially with coding as I have no experience and no working models. Aeryn will be busy for a while, so she won't be around as much and I'm not sure how Epitomy is doing. There are really no deadlines as we don't have any set timeline for this in mind, merely trying to get our acts together to start rehearsal for the play. I can take the Irenicus talk I posted and add Aeryn's suggestions for it and send it to you, if you have the time and inclination to try and code it for us. :D

That gave Jarlaxle pause. "Because I love you as a brother, I pray that you will one day fathom the truth of it all, my friend."

"They're dragons," Entreri muttered. "And I know how Drow love their brothers."

You can make it so that the character has a high number on one stat or the other? Awesome! Ok rethinking my previous line up, here we go.

Strength or Intelligence must be fourteen, constitution of nine, Charisma of 12.

Should charisma be higher?

As for me and coding, I still really don't understand it much. And at this point we have no such thing as deadlines.

IF
  CheckStatGT(Player1,8,CON)
  CheckStatGT(Player1,11,CHA)
  GlobalLT("SarevokRomanceActive","GLOBAL",1)
  OR(2)
   CheckStatGT(Player1,13,STR)
   CheckStatGT(Player1,13,INT)
THEN
 RESPONSE #100
  SetGlobal("SarevokRomanceActive",GLOBAL",1)
END

Is for what you specified. :)

Take your time, we're in no rush.

To the Public in general, we were trying to figure out a way to talk about Tamoko? I was taking a shower wednsday night, here where I'm at, and I was drying my hair and I got to thinking. In the game, the wraith in front of the temple in the Forest of Mir will summon someone from the PC's romanced past, right? I think Moira for Anomen, Khalid for Jaheira and so on. And if you have 17 WIS, which I never do, you can tell your lover that's not real. If you're romancing Sarevok, why not have the Wraith bring Tamoko in?

Whatdya think, pausible?

Not just plausable, it sounds very likely. There are very few people from his past that could freak Sarevok out and Tamoko is probably the most prominent of them (quite possibly the only one).

Cool.

Epitomy and I traded ideas and I mentioned a Gorion talk and one about Sarevok's mother? Maybe a Gorion talk that parlays into a few mentions of Sarevok's mother?

And no, no pirates for the parlay.

Tamoko Wraith encounter is a no brainer. The only thing you have to ask is whether the romance would be far enough along for the Gorion wraith to refer to him as the man you love. (I suspect the Gorion wraith would have something to say about you romancing his killer as well. But you'll figure something out I'm sure).

The subject of his (foster) mother is an interesting one - you've both had a foster parent murdered in front of you. If you read his diary in Baldur's Gate, you'll know he has nightmares about it. If you didn't kill Rieltar in Candlekeep, then he has doppelgangers do it, and talks about garroting Rieltar since that was how his mother was killed. The letters you find in the game also seem to imply that Rieltar had her killed because she was being unfaithful. I tend to think she was probably the one person who showed him any kindness and her death was quite instrumental in turning him into the cold bastard he later became.

Back when I was sketching out some ideas for the Sarevok IEP friendship (which SConrad may or may not still be working on) I came up with the bare bones of a dialogue on this subject. It isn't in character - it's just an outline (and it isn't coded so I hope you can make sense of it) but it'll give you an idea so please feel free to use and adapt if you wish. The first line refers to a preceeeding conversation where he asks if you think it's possible for him to be redeemed. This was obviously the CG path so there aren't any really mean answers, which there probably should be for a relationship mod.

Sarevok: I have been thinking about what you said. Why do you doubt that I do not feel as you do?

PC: I know you had nightmares about your foster mother. She was murdered in front of you, wasn?t she? 2a
PC: Trust me, you?re a font of emotion compared to him Irenicus. 2
PC: Everyone has feelings. To pretend otherwise is to live in denial. 2

2a

Sarevok: How did you come by that information?

PC: You alluded to it in your diary. 2b

2b

Sarevok: Bah, I should have known. What of it?

PC: If her death gave you nightmares, then you must have felt something for her.
PC: You would not have sought revenge against Rieltar unless you cared.

Sarevok: And you would know, I suppose.

PC: I would. My foster father was murdered in front of me, after all.
PC: I had nightmares about Gorion, too.

Sarevok: Ha! So you are going to beat me with that particular stick again.

PC: No, I?m past that. I?m just saying, I understand how it feels to see someone you care about slaughtered in front of you. The anger, the grief, the feelings of helplessness?
PC: You misunderstand me, brother. I am merely pointing out that I know that it hurts to lose a loved one, especially under circumstances like that.
PC: Always. You must acknowledge the cost of your actions.

Sarevok: Is there a point to this pathetic mewling?

PC: Yes. You didn?t like how that made you feel. You didn?t want to be made to feel that way again, so if anyone got close, you pushed them away. Including Tamoko.
PC: You shut down after her death, didn?t you? I understand that. I had to do the same after Gorion died. If I?d allowed myself to wallow in grief, I would have been easy prey for your assassins.

Sarevok: Do not bring her into this.

PC: So you did care for her too. And that?s good, because if you cared for her, then there is hope for you.

Sarevok: Enough. Your sermonising is giving me a headache. END

Would it break the storyline if you were to make the Watcher's Keep mandatory? Like in the Longer Road, if you want a progress into a true romance rather then just sex/manipulation you must go through Watcher's Keep to get the extra dialogue.

Of course thinking up a reason as to why it would be necessary might pose a bit of a problem.

Thanks Cal! That dialog looks great, and if you're sure you don't mind me an HighTime would really appreciate borrowing it. With credit given where credit is due of course!

I was thinking about it, and I'm not quite sure. You just gave me an idea though, so I'm gonna go run it past HighTime.

Considering that I'm sure most people go to Watcher's Keep anyway, I don't think it would hurt the storyline much. I'm curious however (since I haven't played Longer Road) if there's any specific reason for a dialogue there?

There's a quest on level 3 of Watcher's Keep involving a demon and a wounded deva. If you solve it in the right way it is possible to redeem Irenicus later (as long as you do the other stuff right as well - he's a very hard fellow to redeem) but if you screw up or take the selfish path then his redemption becomes impossible.
It's a nice quest but looks like it would have been quite tough to code - I'd suggest something simpler for these first time ladies. :)
One possible idea is tying it to how you end Watcher's Keep. The nicest possible route is to tell the fallen Helmites the truth - that you tricked Demogorgon despite the stunt they pulled on you. They then walk off and you get +1 rep. You don't get to fight Demogorgon if you take that route, however (though generally that's what I do these days - I've fought him enough times and can't be bothered any more, heh).

The next nicest is not to lie to them, but not to tell the truth either - they then go and investigate. If you go and kill Demogorgon after that, they all die, but Brother whatsit (I forget his name) thanks you before he snuffs it.

The meanest way is to let them run off to investigate and get slaughtered by Demogorgon, while you read the new scroll given to you by the female Helmite ghost. That way also avoids a fight...unless you use the tiny explot that allows you to access a teeny pixel-sized bit of door back into Demogorgon's lair. (Then it's the same as the one above).

Depending on what you do, you could have a conversation with him about forgiveness on the roof or just outside the keep, which would be pretty appropriate, under the circumstances.

Sounds pretty cool. But there needs to be an option to have a good laugh with Sarevok about the rightful punishment for trying to fool the mighty <CHARNAME>, child of Bhaal.
