The possibilities are...endless... :Tasty:

I can understand attraction to Sarevok's character, but that is just weird...

For the record, this in no way satisfies my desire to see a scar flirt as well...you know something late-romance like "Kiss Sarevok's scars." The possibilities are...endless... :Tasty:

I have clearly underestimated the advantage of scars in my relations to the opposite sex, I should really get some (which might be an issue since I really don't like pain  ). Then again, I suspect I might need to grow to seven feet tall, build lots of muscles, get glowy contact lenses and a really big sword for the effects to fully kick in. <_<

LOL!

*snerk* Ok now that that is out of the way, I love that conversation, my only issue with it actually is that I don't think there are enough way's to say the same thing. Sarevok as always is perfect, I just don't see much to say that would appeal to my characters. Then again since you are volunteering to help us so much I'm not complaining at all! And thanks so much for your help.

On a totally off topic note... I hate driving and lessons, coming home so tired that you fall asleep on the couch and then having really severe nightmares in which a psycho in an enormous truck tries to kill you and your mom. *shudders*

Hmm, I'll have to remember that.

Thank you, Aeryn, for coming up with other answers and if you don't mind, I'd like to use them. And too, for not re-writing the dialog I posted. I will make the changes and try to 'Sarevok-it up a bit'.

I know that action dialog does not fit in the game, but it is how I write.

That said...

I wrote a 'steamy scene' and I'll send it to you as soon as I find your e-mail address that doesn't run through here 'cause it's pretty, er, graphic.

EDIT: Oh, I forgot to mention...

I love the dialog with Haer'Dalis! It was hilarious and I love the poems you picked for it. If only we didn't have to get permission to use them...

Of course - anything I blather on about you're welcome to use as needed. :D As far as making things more Sarevok-like, there are things that help us writers get into character better. One thing that helps more than anything is simply reading a bio on them. Remembering things like Rieltar forced Sarevok to watch him strangle his foster mother to death as punishment for her unfaithfulness when Sarevok was just a child and other important background facts can really help to shape the responses accordingly. Ooo, I'm rambling...

And I'm not a total pervert - kissing his scars could actually be a very sweet, romantic thing. It doesn't have to be filthy...

~(You gently press your lips to the jagged scar on Sarevok's cheek, letting your eyes close briefly as he turns his face in toward yours and nuzzles against your ear. His touch is tender as he cups your jaw and pulls away to gaze into your face for a moment, the steely edge that often lingers in his eyes softening for just a moment.)~

See? Nothing kinky there. Just don't ask me about the scar I imagine on the back of his thigh...  *hides*

Aw, poor Epitomy! I've woken up terrified from nightmares before... Mostly consisting of being attacked by loose dogs on our road. I mentally went back and added Artemis Entreri from the R.A. Salvatore series slamming into it. I'm obsessive.

And Lykainon, where do you find glowy contacts?
That gave Jarlaxle pause. "Because I love you as a brother, I pray that you will one day fathom the truth of it all, my friend."

"They're dragons," Entreri muttered. "And I know how Drow love their brothers."

Oh, that's an easy one. Just contact your local contact-making-factory and custom order contacts filled with small amounts of bioluminescent fluid. Now, since they'll be working with microscopical amounts of the stuff, adding some chemical boosters to it might be necessary but all in all, totally doable. (As will I be once I get them by the way 8) )

I'd say some people have too much time to have on their hands, but then again I'm one of those people! :D

And thanks for the info Aeryn. I just have to find that cold, dark part of my soul and get Kevin Michael Richardson to voice it.

I was just thinking - Sarevok's also one of those characters that, like Viconia, perhaps wouldn't always react the way most people might expect them to. There should be some negative reactions to flirts even in late stages of the romance (getting irritated, snapping at the PC, brushing her off) as well as maybe a few overly intense ones (a gentle kiss turned nekid wrestling session). Also, last thought for at least the next few minutes, I think some non-romantic, "getting to know you" type PC initiated talks would be interesting, something like Kulyok did for Xan. Specifically, I'd love to ask him if he had dreams about Bhaal like the PC did, or about the significance of his tattoos, little things like that.

All very good points and definitely what I was thinking. Here's a thought, somewhere in this thread forever ago people mentioned the romance not really going past certain points unless certain conditions were met, maybe in order for the romance to really end up being anything more than a fling, or a way for Sarevok to attempt to control the PC you must initiate PID's. So in other words if you want good ole brother Sarry to be interested in much more than a) the sex, or b) controlling and manipulating the PC you're gonna have to talk to him. After all I don't really see Sarevok being all that open about his past, or anything for that matter unless you directly ask him for it (and he still might refuse to answer). He might ask you something if he was curious but he wouldn't suddenlu start talking about how terrible his childhood was and all.

Hm, not that I'm an expert - but I think your "scar" dialog is good when it comes to coding, Aeryn. I think you've just missed one END after the sa1scar.3

And hey, I'm really happy I'm not at school while reading this - I think that my classmates would be worrying what happened that I'm giggling like that :D
Heck no, b - I used the word the way I use things like "twitter", and "iPod" - my first inclination is to ask "what birdcall are you studying?" and I think of "I pod, You (singular) pod, He pods, She pods, They pod, You (plural) pod, We pod..."

One form of talking for them would be fighting. Would anyone consider a banter wrapped up in a sparring match? It would probably turn out to be complicated to write and have a lot of action text - not everyone's favourite - but I think it would be an interesting thing to see. It could be, depending on stats hit/miss answer a question kind of thing. Or just talking while trying to outmaneuver each other. Or just trying to beat the hell up each other.

It'd also depend on whether the PC is a fighting class or not. ;)

By ToB the PC is no doubt a capable mage/cleric/thief/what not. Sparing doesn't have to be limited to swords and fists only ;)

Utterly believable. Hells to code. I mean, how would you do it? Most of the time, the coder is trying *not* to get the banters to fire during combat (and sometimes, that's tricky enough, with invisible enemies, etc.). But with parenthetical text, provided it was minimal, it would be cool.

PC: "How appropriate, you fight like a cow!"

Well it would not be during a real battle and that's why I've mentioned action text, again not everyone's favourite, but as far as I know you can make certain responses to show up depending on your stats/class.

The even more complicated thing would probably be, like most racial/class talks in other romances you would have to make a sparring banter for each class (no, monks and fighters are not the same thing <_< )

Heh...a monk would be a great fight.

Sarevok: You...fight in your pajamas.
PC: That's right.
Sarevok: And...you claim you can kill a man with your pinkie.
PC: Yup.
Sarevok: ...this I gotta see.
PC: Sure thing. Hey, Jaheira, you have Harper's Call memorized, right?

A sweaty sparing match would be great fun, though. But I love parenthetical text, so :D.

You can go one step further even. You have the original long winded sparring mach and then later after that you get it as an option in PID with short random outcomes.

Hmm...sparing would be a great way to get him to open up. Have a first encounter (example, see him sharpening a weapon and ask if he'll show you some moves) that could lead to him talking about his past a bit, then time out some PID that could potentially open up more and more of his background. And, thinking about it, there probably wouldn't be much narrative text - it could be fairly easy to integrate into dialogs. "Rieltar was never one to allow such things - watch your form! I could have slit your throat or knocked you flat with that sloppy stance - but, it wasn't all bad. Better than living on the streets..." That's a crap example since it's 1:30am, but you get the drift. :P

Do elipses there substitute for out-of-breath panting? If so, that ain't parenthetical text, it's good dialogue. If it's hesitation, however, Sarevok doesn't seem the type.

That's a banter I want to see in my game. :)

I'd get rid of the ellipses in line 1 and 3: the banter feels more powerful without them. And it seems to me that "finger" is more fitting than "pinkie" - Imoen would say "pinkie", but Keldorn, Sarevok or a serious PC, I feel, wouldn't. I know "little finger" is too long, but "finger" may work - it's visual enough.

The last line is perfect; Sarevok's lines are fabulous.
(If you write fiction and don't mind a new reader, throw a link my way? Love the writing, seriously. Ever since I saw Sarevok encounter in my inbox.)
