I'm in the process of making an area for classic adventures. The area requires a dining table that has heavily decayed food to become fresh and lavish. No problems, I just use a door overlay. Then I wondered if several overlays can be placed in the same spot to show several stages of food decomp. Anyone know if the game accepts overlapping door tiles???

Couldn't you simply make the table a creature, and change the animation?

No. The table is bigger than a creature's max animation size.

That's not a thing a can answer, but you can use static animation instead of doors. It's should be easier as no messing with the tileset is involved.

Table has nothing to say to you.

In seriousness, wouldn't making it a creature also result in the target circles?

Hello, BigPoppa. :)

I've merged your two threads (the one in the Layers of Reality and IE Modding Discussion), since they were identical (save for the actual graphics posted in the Layers one). I also moved the new thread to IE Modding Help.

In the future, it might be worth sticking to one thread asking for help and one where you're specifically showing us your beautiful art.

Thank you!

Doors animations are like binary, on or off. There isn't a third option.

However, you can use BAM files and swap them out using timing scripts. That would be better than wasting an animation slot. And since this is for CA, I can guarantee you that it isn't an option, I have every slot already in use.

BAMs can be either fast animations, like monsters or spinning devices, or static. Static would be the best for this since the changes aren't supposed to be immediately seen. An area script can activate and inactivate a BAM on the screen. So this would probably be the best solution.
