I don't know if these bugs(?) are related to this specific mod, but I only have Qwinn's latest trinity of PS:T mods so...

I've played through Ravel's maze twice since installing the three new mods and ran into these issues both times.

1) See screenshot. While Ravel is in the dialogue to grant a boon, she calls her trigits and combat starts without that dialogue finishing. The first time, she was hostile along with trigits but still ran over and actually finished the boon "upgrade," which then led to the proper ending of the dialogue (humility is in order). The second time, I had Morte instantly taunt her and she went off to punch him, so the boon was never granted (that I remember seeing). After killing Ravel, though, the rest of the maze events still go on normally except---

2) Both times I wasn't able to trigger the portal exit dialogue at all. I ran around the maze, leapt into every portal, ran away and towards the exit, but nothing worked until I quit the game and reloaded.

I have the 2-CD version but did a "cheater reinstall" of the game to install the mods (had all original *.tlk and override and some other files backed up). I don't have the font tweak enabled this time. :P Neither issue was game-breaking. I can attach more files or something.

Uh oh. That's not good. I'll get checking on this right away. This would be a Fixpack issue, incidentally - the fix which went into Fixpack 2.00 was intended to stop the problem where item bonuses stop working when you're given a stat boost during her dialogue.

Thanks very much for the quick report.

Okay, I will update the Fixpack download to 2.01 sometime today to address this issue. The good news is that even if you got hit by this bug (which was entirely my fault, sorry), you're not losing out on anything except a few lines of dialogue. By that point in the conversation, all variables have been set to what they need to be, any possible bonuses or penalties have already been acquired, etc.

As for the portal, I've had issues with getting that portal to work right as well, but the problem can be very difficult to reproduce as other times it works perfectly. As you note, saving and reloading seems to fix it. I will devote some extra attention to it, as I thought when I encountered it that it was a fluke.

Anyways, attached to this post is the only file that you really need to have to address the Ravel dialogue problem, so if you've already downloaded Fixpack 2.00, you can just extract this file into your override folder and it should resolve the problem, so you don't have to update to Fixpack 2.01.

EDIT: Download updated to 2.01.

Changing classes while in Ravel's Maze or Pharod's stash can stop their exit portal from opening. Don't know why.

Hmmm, wonder if it's related to that level 10 fighter bug thing I fixed a while back. Well, if it's still happening in version 2.0, probably not, but that bug does definitely prove that there are some weirdnesses happening in regards to portals/NearLocation triggers and classes, this is probably just a different but related weirdness.

That said - Platter! Hello! Great to see you here, any and all input from you is of course highly appreciated. Do you have an email handy, or can you set up an account I can PM you at? Would love to go over some stuff with ya.

I also ran to this bug, but reloading an earlier save and playing through the conversation solved the problem. Addition to this bug there's another; when I go to the portal that goes to curst, Ravel and TO start their conversation, Ravel acts funny. She gets up and falls down a few times, then they fight but when ravel dies nothing happens. I remember that TO is supposed to say something, but now he doesn't. No matter how long I wait nothing happens.

Yeah, it didn't have to happen every time, it's quite possible her dialogue could restart before the the script would start combat. It may even be a fairly rare occurrence, not sure.

Did you install the Subtitled Cutscenes component? It sounds like you did. In the end, I think I got it working pretty smoothly, but yeah, the one thing I was unable to get working perfectly was that she has to stand up for her very first dialogue line... I have her immediately fall back down again so that she can get up when she's supposed to a bit later.

(If anyone can suggest a way to get her to participate in the conversation without making her stand up, I'd love to hear it. I asked in the IE Modding Help section but other than trying to petrify her (which didn't work), didn't get much in the way of ideas).

However, TO isn't supposed to say anything after Ravel dies. Feel free to uninstall the subtitled cutscenes component and run through it again to verify that. They chat before the fight, but not after. After she's dead he should leave and your party should arrive in Curst.

You were right about the cutscene subtitles component. Uninstalling that removed the problem. BUT the TO does say to Ravels dead body something like this: "No longer shall you travel with life, witch!" And after that the party goes to Curst.

Hmm, odd. I did it with the subtitled cutscenes component installed, and you're right, there is that last line ("No longer shall you trouble the living, witch" or something like that), but I got it with no problem and with the component installed.

Not sure why that line wouldn't have shown up for you. Did the game stall out too, or something?

Still not sure why this happened. Is it possible Ravel was actually killed by the spells before she was supposed to be? Was the last spell that she was hit with before she died "Fire and Ice"?

Ravels dies after the spell, and TO just stands still. He doesn't approach Ravels body and say his line. The game doesn't crash, I can see the "clock" in the corner running.

Okay, thank you -very- much for the report.

I can't duplicate it on my own box, BUT, I'm seeing that at the point you're crashing, I'm having TO attempt to start dialogue with "RavelCut" (the special Ravel for this cutscene), and at that point she's already dead. It's not causing a problem on my machine, but I can see such a thing working only inconsistently.

Could you do me a favor, Zyrica? I've redone the script so that TO starts the dialogue line with himself rather than the dead Ravel, which should work fine. Would you be willing to reinstall the subtitled cutscenes component, then downloading this file and overwriting the one in your override directory by extracting it there, then playing through the cutscene again? It also worked fine on my system, and I'm hoping it stops the problem on yours.

I'm sorry but I can't. Because of some other problems I had to uninstall the game. Plus I don't have the CDs anymore, I had borrowed them from a friend of mine. As I said in my previous message, uninstalling the cutscene subtitles-component fixed the problem, so I was able to continue and finish the game.

Alright, thank you anyway.

If anyone else has the problem, please let me know, and if you'd be willing to try the file I supplied rather than just uninstalling the component, I'd appreciate it.
