So I'm at the Temple Ruins in Baldur's gate 2, when Jaheira decides to take off to the Harper's Hold. Fine enough as I was gonna dump her for Keldorn anyways soon. However she then returns one day later to tell me that I must show up at Harper's. Problem is that she is now reverted to her old BG1 stats and portrait. Also her items (which I did not take from her) are all gone! So obviously the game is using the old Jaheira to pop up now... is there anyway to fix this problem?

You would have to delete the old BG1 Jaheira from your savegame (before she returns).

Which version of BGT are you using?

Could you register on these forums and then post with an attachment of your saved game BALDUR.GAM file?
Also, was this a saved game you started from scratch using the 5th Aug build, or did you start this game using an older version?

I used the august 1st install first in BG1, then I uninstalled BGT and reinstalled BGT with 5th august version. Another weird thing that happened was that my bag of holding disappeared in the BG1 part, when I reinstalled with the August 5th save. Oh yeah and experience for thieving skills + scrolls seems to be very low.

I need a saved game before Jaheira came back from her hiatus.

The experience for thieving skills and scrolls is intentional. You need to install the relevant BGT Tweak component to revert the values back to the BG2 standard.

I need your BALDUR.GAM file from the saved game before Jaheira came back from her hiatus.

Re: Thieving skills. The changes are applied globally, so you have to install the relevant component from BGTTweaks to revert the global values back to the original BG2 values.

ah there is no save game from before jaheira came back from her hiatus unfortunatly. Nevertheless it matters little. I just dropped her way earlier, so the quest chain didn't fire.

Hi!
I have exactly the same problem. I have 1.05b bgt version with the soa transition patch. Is there a way to fix this? Unfortunately I can't add the baldur.gam attachment for some reason..."Upload failed. You are not permitted to upload this type of file" (even though I'm a registered user.)

I believe it has been stated that this happens if you have one of the crossover females (Jaheira or Viconia) in your party at some point in BG1, but not in your party when you transition to BG2, so the savegame file has two versions of that PC, allowing for this to possibly happen when the character returns to your side in BG2 (the wrong character file is used). From what I have gathered from the other thread(s), the only way to fix this is to remove the BG1 character from your savegame file with a utility like Near Infinity (assumably at some point before they return to you), thus ensuring that the BG2 version of their character will return to the party and not the BG1 character by mistake. I have not done this myself.

This is correct.

Rename the file extension (to .txt or something), or put the file in an archive (zip, rar, ...) for uploading.

baldur.gam renamed to baldur.txt. A stupid question, how do you remove the BG1 character from your savegame file with Near Infinity?

Not stupid at all. Open the baldur.gam and find the BG1 Jaheira in the lower right box (non-player characters). She is probably named something like *AHEIR. Then you need to switch to the Edit tab, scroll down the list to the non-player characters and find the one with the matching name. Remove this one and save the file afterwards.

Err...How do actually open the baldur.gam? I should be able to do this with Near infinity v. 1.32? I'm really bad at this.

The baldur.gam of your savegame is in the save folder in the ressource tree.

I wouldn't recommend messing with your savegame, when you are unfamiliar with the editing tool.
Make a backup copy of your savegame before doing anything with it.

I found the *AHEIR in the lower right box and then I clicked "edit" in the upper left hand corner and scrolled down the list and removed BG1 Jaheira (non-player characters). Then I saved the changes but when I load the new save the game crashes... Does anyone have any ideas? Am I doing the right things?

It looks like you did the right thing.
You could attach your baldur.gam (maybe both versions [original and with *AHEIR removed]), to let someone have a look at it.
