It was just a matter of time.
Unfortunately that seems to apply to every console game made these days.

What do you mean "unfortunately"?
It means that we PC gamers have yet more mortar to reinforce our smug, quietly confident notions of being better than everyone else. XBox? Playstation? Bah. They all come crawling back to us, sooner or later.

The only unfortunate thing about that are the controls, one might think they would bother to optimize them for PC
@the bigg
Controls for Lost Planet (a very good game by the way) are quite good for a port (even if help tips have only gamepad controls listed

Wasn't DMCControls for Lost Planet (a very good game by the way) are quite good for a port (even if help tips have only gamepad controls listed
), you should try and play Devil May Cry on PC. Without a good gamepad impposible.
1) a game based on quick-time events
2) a game series known for being as hard as <protect the children from my comparisons>?
Given the two things, it's natural that a port would become unrealistically difficult.

I have no idea why people keep saying this, when it`s so much easier to pirate stuff on PS2/Xbox/Xbox360; especially the latter, you don`t even need a modchip, just a modified optical drive firmware. Just download, burn & play - no hassle with CD/DVD protection and cracks. Console games usually get warezed quicker than PC ones because there`s no need for any cracking to be done.Yay for PC games! I know a lot of devs have been frightened off by piracy but face it, there's a lot of us PC gamers out there.
(In the meantime, I really must get a new machine...)
So developers who use the 'piracy' excuse should probably think about making good games instead - who knows, maybe people will actually buy those? Look at Stardock and their Galactic Civilizations series - or Sins of a Solar Empire. These games have no protection at all yet sell very well for a simple reason: they`re great games!

Wouldn't that result in a Xbox Live ban?Xbox360; especially the latter, you don`t even need a modchip, just a modified optical drive firmware.

What I`m more interested in is that for GTA4 on PC modders can go crazy. Hopefully it will result in many modified servers too, like GTA3 has; there are some with roleplaying elements, like levels, player housing, jobs etc. - basically MMO elements.

Difficulty was never a problem, it's the keyboard/mouse controls that are problematic. But in the end it does not matter since gamepads don't cost much nowdays

True, there was a problem with controls. For me, of course.

Don't forget Fable.I wouldn't be so smug for receiving late and piss-poor Xbox ports (for instance, Lost Planet for the PC still listed the motherfucking CONSOLE controls in its help tips). I'm more smug for being able to mod my stuff

Well, the only console ports / shared titles I've played (that I know of) are NFS:U2, NFS:MW, GTA:VC and GTA:SA from the PS2, Oblivion, Lost Planet and The Orange Box from the 360. Of those, the poorest port was surely LP (at least Oblivion has conceivable PC controls).Don't forget Fable.I wouldn't be so smug for receiving late and piss-poor Xbox ports (for instance, Lost Planet for the PC still listed the motherfucking CONSOLE controls in its help tips).
