Isn't he one of those key characters you cannot kill? Like that bartender in the thieves guild in Bg2 that if attacked will spawn assassins that instant kill all your party members??

No, you can kill him when he makes his last appearance in BG1 in the Baldur's Gate gates. He drops a quarterstaff.

btw the familiar questions implies that charmane is a mage! Even if a bug allows every character class to summon a familiar, 'honest' players may not exploit it (my fighter had a pseudodragon!) ;-)

How could I ever resist a BG meme (and it gave me something to do while no computers were nearby). Though I'm afraid number 9 might only make sense if you've played Kotor (poor Sarevok), and oops, Kivan has no hands in 6 (or I was lazy). Oh, and for 8... You know that group of strange bhaalspawn you find in the fire mountains? And I think one was a chinchilla...? Though I don't know what a chinchilla looks like, I drew something vaguely rabbit-like.
