First of all, I'd like to commend you on an excellent idea, namely, giving Kova a 'buff' when he's low on hitpoints thanks to Kiyone's intervention. However, in my game at least, the buffs actually affect Kiyone, and not Kova, even when Kiyone is ordered to cast sanctuary 'on' Kova. Doubtless this is because the game regards these spells as 'self-only' spells. Perhaps a cure light/medium wounds would be simpler to script in, from that perspective. Though I can imagine that sanctuary can be quite the life-saver at times (another of my glaring areas of ignorance in BG 2: I've never cast sanctuary in a fight ).
