Looking for a talented writer

- Hundreds of spells (some of the more interesting ones are but not limited to Seven Eyes, Spacewarp, Seclusion, Lysander's Bladestorm, Prismatic Sphere)
- Hundreds of items (The book of Infinite Spells truly gives you a random spell!)
- Small characters (dwarves, halflings, gnomes) recieve a higher defensive bonus when wearing shields than larger characters (humans, elves, etc.)
- Characters wearing metal receive bonuses to saving throws against fire, but penalties to saving throws against electricity.
- Wisdom modifiers to saving throws against certain effects are implemented
- And so on.

Now, I can code fairly well, but my imagination is less bent on the writing aspect of the mod. I recognize that writing can extremely influence the quality of the mod. Typos in the text can be nearly as bad as typos in the code. And who prefers bland descriptions with numbers and data over those that tell stories?
I have hundreds and hundreds of descriptions of items and spells right now, and I would like to recruit a talented writer to my cause. At some point, I had several writers, but they left because they lost interest. After all, I have been developing this mod for over 6 years, and people come and go.
If you are willing to devote your time writing, send me a PM here at SHS or any other IE modding forums (preferrably), or an e-mail to galactygon@baraban.com (I check it once in awhile), give this thread a reply. Be sure to show me some samples of your work; any piece that you did is fine, the more the better.
Naturally, I will give due credit to your time and writing.

Have to ask, what kind of writing you want, cause I can tell an interesting tale from a horse droppings, but... if it's ~bout a spell description or the book tale on the game, I am not your man.
It's more the latter, so I prefer the writer has some knowledge about the AD&D world. With a bit of philosophy and a lot of ideas (hence my post in the "Mod Ideas board", which I didn't state).
So what kind of talent in writing do you want?
Well, really, that varies from writer to writer so I don't really know. But at the same time, good writing speaks for itself, so most people could determine what makes up for good writing. Someone who can draw in an indifferent reader certainly qualifies.

BTW, on the metal armor effects, those are backwards from a real-world physics perspective; metal armor would efficiently conduct electricity to the ground, away from the player characters, but would also efficiently conduct heat to their bodies (this is why buildings have lightning rods and hot water pipes have rolls of fiberglass around them).
"Tyranny is a quiet thing at first, a prim and proper lady pursing her lips and shaking her head disapprovingly, asking, well what were you doing (wearing that dress, walking home at that hour, expressing those inappropriate thoughts) anyway? It's subtle and insidious, disguised as reasonable precautions which become more and more oppressive over time, until our lives are defined by the things we must avoid. She's easy enough to agree with, after all, she's only trying to help -- and yet she's one of the most dangerous influences we face, because if she prevails, it puts the raping, robbing, axe-wielding madmen of the world in complete control. Eventually they'll barely need to wield a thing, all they'll have to do is leer menacingly and we fall all over ourselves trying to placate them." -godlizard

While I would in theory be an excellent choice for this, in practice I have severe issues with deadlines, as Bookwyrme, K'aeloree, and others can attest. I would be willing to contribute, as long as the deadlines are relatively open-ended; at the very least, I am intensely interested in how you got several of the items (Wisdom saving throw bonuses, for instance) to work. Some mutual assistance might be in order.
I don't really have deadlines, but the amount of work can be overwhelming. My hope is to gather a few people who can split the work up.
What kind of sample would you like?
Pretty much anything goes.

I mixed them up when I wrote my notes. Thanks, it could have been an ingame mistake though! Which, admittedly shows I need people to check my work.

The only thing is, I might be needing a few snips of code in the near future. Would it be possible to exchange this for an unspecified, Mafioso-style "favor?"

"I would just like to say that our friend Dirac has got a religion, and its first commandment is, 'There is no God and Paul Dirac is his prophet.'"
