Has anyone, even on the billionth playthrough still find something from the game you haven't dicovered before, no matter how small? In the copper coronet i decided to talk to one of the people sitting down, turns out he had a name, Garoll (in one of his lines it's misspelled Garrol) and if you buy him a drink or something he with a little bit of persuading he can tell you about the entertainments in the place, it's not a huge dicovery but i thought it was interesting to find something else related to that small plot in the coronet, anyone else got little discoveries they have made to share?
My! What an interesting turn of phrase.

I find little stuff all the time that I keep missing. Such as:

-When you go to Brynnlaw with the Shadow Thieves, one of the vampires that attacks you is named Valen.
-You can take Ned's head and Aeigsfield's body to Chief Inspector Brega for a reward. Never noticed that.
-That guy talking to the paladin, trying to win her heart is named Garrick (from BG1).... never caught that till recently.

Etc....

Most of these are things others probably caught, but I just never did, and they're cute little things IMO.

Oh!

The vampires reminded me of something!

In *BG1*, in the Cloakwood mines, one of Daevorn's apprentices is called Hareishan, and the other Tanova, both come back as Vampires in BG2.

I spotted that ages ago, but not many people actually do.

(You only need take Aegisfield's body to Brega if you let the fool get killed! Better not to tell him it's Reijik behind the murders until you've actually cleaned out the tanners. That way the inspector gets to live).

I was playing the Assassinations mod last playthrough and found myself looking for my targets in parts of the map I'd never even been to. It's quite novel in a "hey, I can walk up here? Oh!" sort of way.

It took me quite a while to find that you could kick rocks onto Firkraag in the opening cavern of his dungeon...

Also, one thing I noticed is the pirates of the Bleeding Mary who are in the tavern in Brynnlaw tell you that the ship used to be called the Yawning Mary, but they changed the name for obvious reasons. If you go back to the docks in Baldur's Gate, you'll find the crew of the Yawning Mary in a tavern that looks like a house, to the east side of the docks. All the pirates have the same names (Pirate Scotty, Pirate Newf etc).

One of the things that cracked me up last time I played BG with a female PC was going to the Low Lantern and talking to one of the courtesans, who replies "You must be looking for Schvantz. He's hanging out here somewhere..."

Wow! I've played both games a ton of times and never noticed that! That's very cool.

I noticed Hareishan in BG, but not Tanova. I guess I missed her.

One thing that I just recently noticed is that Carbos and Shank (who fight over Bubbles in the Bridge District) are the two first assassins in Candlekeep. And I thought I had made sure they were dead...

You'll meet Carbos and Shank's sister/cousin (sister of one, cousin of the other) upstairs in an inn in the SE area of Baldur's Gate. She's worried that they're missing. At first it seems like genuine concern, but then it turns out they just owe her money...

Brennan Risling (one of the mob upstairs at the Seven Veils) also turns up in Baldur's Gate - I can't remember exactly what he says but I think it's something to do with voting for Sarevok.

In my arrogance, I was sure I knew Baldur's Gate better than I knew my own self. I've played it so many times, done every quest, talked to every person, or so I thought. And yet, last playthrough, which was creeping along at a snails pace, I found not one new discovery, which was amazing enough in itself, but two!

The first, and this is embarassing, was that there's that tower next to the building in the Druid Grove. Why I've never noticed that is beyond me - there was even a sword in there, much to my delight.

You know that mod, Stivan the Hunter, I think it's called. Well, I always assumed it was a brand new character. It was only on my last playthrough I found him, and was like, "Dude, I've heard of you. The guy with the seagulls?" It was really quite exciting, in a sad, pathetic sort of way... :)

There's a man on the second floor of one of the inns in Beregost... Burning Wizard?... whose name is Raleo Windspear. I wonder if he's any relations to Garren.

Centeol (the spider lady) in BG1 has a charmed dialogue elaborating on why Irenicus cursed her. She loved him but he was actually married to Tanova, so she killed her hoping he would choose her. However, instead he raised her as undead and took revenge upon Centeol.

It even adds a journal entry saying it probably doesn't matter but 'may be important in a sequel'. :) It's fun.

Only in TuTu, in vanilla BG1, the dialogue is different.

In vanilla BG1 she calls him Jon Icarus...but the similarity is enough she could have got his name wrong, perhaps. Who knows? There are a lot of characters with the same or similar names between the games...Sendai of Amn, a human noble you fight in BG1, and then Sendai the drow in ToB, for instance.

Honestly, if Frabjous was here, he would have a field trip. Perhaps you should post something similar in the official forums, and see what you get.

One of the sailors from Brynnlaw actually has an emerald on his person!

Are there any other modifications that change it?

I could swear I saw it on my pre-TuTu run but I guess it just shows how long it's been

Calahan, the guy you can get to ferry Ginia and Ason back to Ulgoth's Beard, is also present in BG1 ToSC, if you accept Mendas' quest, as is Therella, the woman he plans to take the children to.

Shandalar, the mage in Ulgoth's Beard, is the father of the female wizards that you kill from which you steal the components for the Halruaan ship.

I'm not sure if it's from a mod, but in all my years with BGII, I have never before witnessed (and participated in) the encounter between Arkanis Gath and three other thieves, against five Vampires. I was so surprised when I first saw a number of NPC's showing up, I thought it was a bug.
Favourite Quotes from BG2
Minsc: Minsc will lead with blade and boot! Boo will take care of the details.
Saemon: Pardon?
Aerie: This is gonna hurt you ALOT more than me!
Sarevok: Now I return the favor!
Drizzt: Yes, yes, you have my attention.
Lilarcor: And this one's for Grandma, who said I would never amount to anything more than a butterknife!
