I'm not sure if this has been done or not
Yes, it has been done before, as shown by one simple use of the search function.
I think it's inevitable that some threads are going to be reborn, especially four years later when we have many new members who don't want to re-open very old threads. It shows that there are common interests that endure beyond some of the active memberships.
Yes. Hence, my post is more about the question of whether this has been done before--but also (and more importantly) directing members to actually use the search function before starting new threads with saying "I'm not sure if this has been said before." Using the search function is a quick easy way to actually answer your own question, if you wonder whether something's been covered or not. Every member should consider using it before creating a new topic--especially if you intend to start it as described.
I've seen more threads like that than I care to count, and they usually involve bugs that already have been resolved, ideas that already have been presented or discussion topics that already have been exhausted. For modders and other forum regulars, threads like that are nothing but annoying and/or a complete waste of our time, since we have to type the same things all over again, or redirect/merge/move as appropriate. I shudder to think how much of my time I've spent reiterating or pointing people in the right direction--just because the member in question didn't take a minute to think about what they were doing before clicking that "Post New Topic" button--when I could have been making mods for the user to enjoy or improving the
SHS website/forum instead.
(If I had a problem with this particular topic, I would have made those concerns clear--and probably disallowed or attempted to stem further replies. As that's not the case--please, carry on, but use the search function next time.)
The new "Cameras Please!" in the Rec Room is a good example of this.
The difference being that the (one single) old "Cameras, please" are no longer with us, while the
three quotations threads are accessible for anyone by merely searching for "quotes" in the
BG Gameplay forum. That's how I found them.
