Well, my last few runs in BG2, while very enjoyable, left me thinking about something I had problems with many times already, prior to this.

Most Bioware Romances, and I suspect Mod romances as well, end the Banters / Lovetalks at a certain time, and require a REST conversation / nookie to continue and advance the Romance. This becomes a problem for me because I don't rest often (and if I am running with BTL Characters, certainly that is a strong disincentive to Rest. Not to mention for Hidden Kits).

And I don't notice that I needed to Rest for the Romance to continue until the game is over / almost over, then I have to Z and then Ctrl-I and AdvanceRealTime lots just to finish up the romance. Which I usually don't do, since its so troublesome.

So just wondering, does anyone else have this problem?

Is there some kind of like, really really mini-add-on we can have so that the NPC will hint the PC, hey its time to rest so I can Talk/Nookie with You?

The game does have hints to the player to rest. They are called spell memorization and Fatigue.

I just recently was doing Jaheria's romance and I had done just about every quest and was in chapter 6 and my lovetalk rating was like only 43 so I had to cheat to get her up there before starting TOB so yeah its quite annoying not sure if they have one...

How do you go through a game and hardly rest? I rest like after every battle! Now I'm a little jealous... :(

I rarely use Spells, and I heavily invest into Rings of Regeneration, basically hand it around to settle the Hitpoints, and I use potions for most part anyway, that's if I really need to.

Apart from that, I used lots of Ranged Weapons, typically with infinite ammunition, I have one "tank" run circles around the enemy while the rest shoot, and once I have boots of speed you can count the number of times they hit me on maybe, one finger. When it comes to mages, I just kill them before they get their spells off. Ditto for Dragons and other high level encounters. Party encounters usually involves a thief going in, Backstabbing the mage, then running away before too much damage can be done to the thief, and then 3-4 AoE spells land on the rest of the enemy party. Occasionally when you get a tricky AI like backstabbing thieves and stuff that just does a lot of high damage, send in someone they can't hurt but will most likely target (like a Mage with Stoneskin, with Stoneskin and Prot Magic Weapons in reserve).

I rest about 6-7 times in SoA, and usually more towards the early part of the game. But I Reload a Lot. Beyond a certain point in time, I will tend to carry quite a few (more useful but cheap) scrolls with me so that I can have some spell selection so I don't have to memorise specific spells for certain encounters. Having an extra Ring of Regen and 2 Rings of Gaxx also helps me not have Healing Issues. Two Rings of Gaxx on one character can quickly get the person up to Max Life.

Which is cheating, which in my point of view is not something you need to take into account.... Heck, I have lives where I don't have the ring of Gyaxx. Why? Well, why in the hell would my Paladin PC who hates Undead help the thing?

Still modding the Mod for the Wicked... It is a big project you know... And I got sidetracked (several times) a bit... sorry.

I usually play an Evil Party when I want to relax :) My Good party led by my Sorcerer PC is more for Roleplay, but is a lot more challenging (which is usually the case when your main character is extremely squishable...)

Well, there is still the issue of fatigue... the characters simply DO tell you that you should lie down a bit, you slave driver :P

I tend to rest many, many times during the game, but in streaks. I'll go for a week or more without resting, then rest maybe 5 times in a week. I like to keep my spells at maximum when I'm in the harder locations. More or less, everything depends on what I feel like doing at the time.

Speaking of getting two of the same item, I remember when I accidentally got two celestial fury katanas. Valygar did really well with them. :) I won't use that glitch to my advantage anymore though.
