The BiG World Project (BWP) needs your help

We?re seen how much happens in this mod-scene at the moment. Every week new mod-updates and/or new mods releases. Many gamers come to play Baldur?s Gate again or for the first time and like all the available mods. At the moment we have a nice run on Baldurs Gate. More and more happens and with it the work.

Therefore we can?t more handle this alone without to be up to date.
Leonardo is working hard to get all the new mods and mod-updates into the BWP.
Dabus is working hard to get the new installation-tool for the BWP ready.
I?m to busy with all the additional work, what comes up with the BWP.

So we need someone who can help us in creating the fixes and patches they are all listed and found in the forums. If more fixes can be done, so we can get a really good stable Baldur?s Gate World.
We have listed below all the problems we have found, but not the time to create and check the fixes/patches. It would be very helpful, if we can get the descriped fixes/patches, so we can check these and include it into the BWP.
This means, we put it in our fixpack, which is available without the other BWP stuff. So this fixpack can be used with other installations or MegaMods, too.

If you have time to help us with the fixes, please mention it in this thread, so no work will done twice.

We will updated this post everytime if something is fixed or a new described fix comes out.
Under ?Who? we will list the person who is working on this fix/patch.

Drizzt Saga v1.0
In my BGT game I play a monk and normally monks cannot use armors.
But I can wear the new armors found in the Drizzt Saga mod (like Jarlaxles armor), the same goes for helmets in the mod. The solution how it can be done is described.

Region of Terror (RoT) 2.1
Here is a good thread belonging to RoT. Therefore it is needed to check if these problems are still there and not included in the available version. In addition the needed fixes should be checked and collected. We want to know which of them we can use.

In the main bar of the FF inn area 662.310 X/Y corresponds to the point near the north wall between the stairs to the first floor and the kitchen. Nobody appears here either day or night. Jatta should shown up. Here we need a fix/patch. In this link is only the problem described.

Victor's Improvements Pack (BGII Improvements Mod) v1.9
The component ?Weapons for all? changed all weapons, so you can use it. But the mod does not change the weapprof.2da correctly. Either one copies back a backup in the override directory, make changes manually or the best way is to correct the code in the TP2.
Here we need a corrected TP2.

It may occur the bug that you cannot reach in Firkraag's dungeon. This succeeds

I tried the fix for the arena and it didn't work for me. I'll keep up with any other suggestions King Diamond might have and report back here if there is any fix action found.

EDIT: those are BAFs in that fix, and overwrite the existing ones before installation.



I think King Diamond is back and working on the RoT, CtB and others on his slate. I may have a solution to one bug in CtB if you check those forums.


@smeagolheart,
what did the BCS end up looking like? Were there any ActionOverride(MakePlayerUnselectable......)?


EDIT: OK I see. Those are BAFS in the fix and need to replace the corresponding ones in the RoT folder at install and they should work like that.

Okay, fixed Thalantyr by making the item upgrade more unobtrusive. (i.e. patching into existing dialogue)
Drop attached thalan.d into dlg directory before installation.

About BG1UB/NTotSC:
I don't think we really need a fix here. NTotSC has its own Shilo Chen and BG1UB detects this and skips the component.
Technically, the mods are compatible (no clashing of resource names etc.). But it wouldn't make much sense to have two Shilo Chen's in the game.

That is great, if King Diamond works on the big BG2 mods. I'll don't delete the big BG2 problems, because so we have a list of the problems we know. And if someone could help, King Diamond sure will be happy.

I may have a solution to one bug in CtB if you check those forums.

All not listed points in this thread are fixed and included in the "BiG World Fixpack", so your CtB fix, too. Each day I check many mod-forums to get the newest news, problems, ...

The Chloe thing is tricky because in addition to the dlg file and the creatures, we also have to change the DV (death variable) and every reference to it. Some should get permission from the author, because this means many changes.

Thanks for your additional information.

We have the main problem that the author Lucythebeast is not active anymore. K'aeloree tries to get permission, that someone could do these changes and in addition some known bugfixes.

How hard would it be to change the references in the BG1 character? Change the CRE file to CHLOEBG1 and associated dialog to the same and rename her other scripts or variables if she has any. I did a similar thing with the Korax the Ghoul bit because DSoA destroys the original K's charmed state (BG1) and makes him join psrty.

He is joinable in BG2 as per DSOA. I haven't tested it fully but it involved renaming globals in one script and renaming his DSoA cre file and giving him his SoA dialog and keeping the original and leaving his BG1 dialog.

So far it works for him in BG2 but I haven't tested the BG1 again fully. I just don't know how to install it properly.

You would have a problem with anything adding content to the BG1 Chloe. (BG1NPC?)
I think it's better not to touch vanilla stuff, but rather modify BG2 Chloe.
(I'm not sure if the DV change is really necessary.)
