First, I'd like to say I really liked the game (good story, characters, etc). There were a few bugs that cropped up.

On one of my characters I was unable to find some items in the silver palace that had been there for the others (the stuff in the little cell area (NW corner, main floor). Perhaps it only exists if you get it before going upstairs?

The group of hunters that try to capture Shadow showed up twice in a row (once in front of the Tinkers and once near the Ravine).

Meepo goes aggressive if you don't talk after he makes his comments. I saw the subtitles from his talking, but kept exploring elsewhere. When I came back he attacked and wouldn't talk.

Found multiple Ruriks. On arrival in Saltmarsh brought Rurik into his smithy (1 in party, 1 out). He got glitchy, wouldn't talk, wouldn't let me save. I dropped him from the party, and then brought him back (still glitchy) so I dropped him. Went back into the smithy and saw 2 Ruriks. Both were able to join party (2 Ruriks in party). Does he have clones... :shifty:

(Piney Bluff quests can't be completed) I went to Piney Bluff after fighting the smugglers and I can accept some quests, but can't complete them - The captain of the guard won't let me discuss what I need to, etc.

The 3rd lever in Saltmarsh mayors house disappeared after untrapping (can't unlock that door without it)

This one isn't a bug (I think it isn't) but where is the second key in the ravine to get to the dragon priest? (I "warped" past the door when I couldn't find the key)

I also noticed various mapping issues (doors that don't lead anywhere, invisible passages - ie you can't see where you are walking, inconsistent door indicators - someplaces don't have anything; others show a rectangle above the wall and others show an arch where the door should be).

This is the first time to hear about this problem. Thanks for finding it.

Piney Bluff and the UK series are all in progress. The next version they will be fully playable. Currently the last quest isn't availible(the ghost tower) and Begon cannot join.

Which maps? Was it the caves near Meepo's people?

SirBillyBob will answer the rest of the questions. If you don't mind I am looking forward to hearing who was in your group.

After I went to Mistmoor and did the quest with Rilithar helping me outside of the party and then as I take Rilithar to my party after the quest after the rewards have been given and so forth and so on, he clearly has an impending dialog that doesn't clear out, as he stops nearly every other step. Uuh, he did ask the servant to take care of his house home, but something else is wrong... and Cath wasn't in the party, if that helps. ;)

Ah, another small bug that bugs me, is that the Lizard Minister and and Senior Shaman don't go where they went before, but get stuck at the corridor, or just don't move, fortunately this doesn't prevent saving etc, or even doing the Shamans quest, but still...

I went and killed Grimdar, and no guards were summoned nor my reputation touched! Perhaps I did pay too much for that full plate mail... ;)

Yes that was where most of the doors that didn't have anything behind them where. The inconsistent doors seem to just be following whatever game they came from (BG style, IWD style, etc). Sometimes to find the door/stairs/exit I have to just wave the mouse around until it changes - not the most intuitive method, but it does work.

If you don't mind I am looking forward to hearing who was in your group.

I have a couple of different parties
1. Rurik, Dilbert, Shadow, Candella, Aleigha
2. Aleigha, Dilbert, Eriky, Candella, Icar

I noticed another potential issue - If you drop your reputation down (way down) then people will just drop out of your party and then run up to you and act as if you had just dropped them. (if they don't like my evilness, they should say something - possibly put a reputation check on them so they don't attempt to rejoin if leaving due to bad behavior)

Those are just doorways to alcoves, cloak rooms, closets, etc. As for real exits and stairs, check your map - the main exits are always marked on the map.

Very interesting. I haven't tried testing any reputation settings yet in the game. No there are definitely no dialogs for any NPC right now if they are not happy with your rep. Something that we need to include at some point.

Meepo -

He is your only chance to keep the other kobolds from attacking you. Remember that you are invading their home. If you don't talk to Meepo and let him take you to his leader, the other kobolds will attack you on sight (as any guard seeing an enemy should). If you tell him you are with the goblins, he will attack you (after all, these two races are in a war with each other and the goblins stole his dragon).

The kobold leader has the key which opens the crypt for the dragon priest. She will drop it if you kill her. Therefore, you don't have to be nice in the kobold area if you don't want to. However, more XP is given if you are nice to them and she will open a store later if you clear out the goblins and the druid.

That should be an interesting bug to find...

I have them walk back to their rightful locations in the caves. However, they move very slowly and they seem to stop all the time. The commands to make them walk don't seem to work as well as I would like. I don't want them just jumping to their new locations but I may have to do this if the walk continues to be such a problem.

Hello, I wanted to say how much I enjoyed this mod and can see how much work you have put into it.

Backpack of Holding Bug

I was wondering if you could please post a link to the backpack bag fix, where the backpack of holding is corrupt? I did a search of the board, and found references to the files being about, and the fact it was a bug, but could not find the files to fix it.

Other Bugs

As for bugs, in Mistmoor, Lord Mistmoor disappears if you brush him off the first time you see him in the Inn. At least he did for me, he never turns up at the Inn or his house again.

Also, it may not be a bug and perhaps is intentional, but maybe could be fixed with some dialogue. If you leave the ravine to heal up, and Meepo stays, he wont talk to you again when you come back. If this was intentional, perhaps him just telling you to go away might be useful.

There is a bug in the ravine, where you pick up a tanker of ale that is some astronomical number of ales. It does not appear that you can drink the ale either, even though you click on it.

Thanks again for going to the trouble of making this mod, I remember fondly playing D&D as a kid.

Turns out the bag is actually fine, it is how I copy it into the game that was causing the corruption. So you can either copy the file from the \STO folder under the mod's install folder or use this one. Just rename it to remove the ".TXT" ending. I can't upload .STO files to this site.

As for Meepo, that is a great test! I hadn't thought about people needing to leave and what happens afterwards. Okay, I'll work on him some more. Thanks.

The tankards should be found as 1 on a table, 1 on a table, 2 on another table for a total of 4. You are supposed to be able to drink them (causes poison I think) so I will need to verify that issue. These are actually going to be items that someone else can use to make you a potion. I haven't written that part of the dialog yet but there is a use for them.

Thanks for the file, can you recommend a good utility program to change it to the STO format from text? Sorry if thats a noob question, but I don't know how to change file formats like this.

Simply in windows, just change the name of the file... You have to have the file extensions enabled of course.
Start->Control Panel->Classic view(in Windows vista)->Folder Options->View->Uncheck the "Hide extensions for known file types". After the renaming just put the file into the Override folder at the game folder.

Well aren't you the nice person!

Well thanks! ^_^
Of course I did reload, but I had to try the hammer... as a beta tester... :D

Probably for the elves too if you are that evil.

Ahh, they do have one, not many are angered by it, but some of the lizardmen in the cave become hostile, which is nice.

Ah, another small bug that bugs me, is that the Lizard Minister and and Senior Shaman don't go where they went before, but get stuck at the corridor, or just don't move, fortunately this doesn't prevent saving etc, or even doing the Shamans quest, but still...

Well to me, they seem to stop walking, completely. Hmm, perhaps it's because the cut scene is stopped in time, which could stop them from acting, so perhaps just before the cut scene Stop command you may need to give them the jump command, as I do like to see them walk of the screen, not jump.

It seems that even though Althon is a Fallen Cavalier, he still retains his Cleric spells(1 first level at level 9), hmm, this is weird.

I agree but that is how the game engine works. I haven't changed anything on him to disable spells. As far as I know, a fallen paladin just has their CRE file flagged as fallen but nothing seems to be disabled by this. However, I do have many core 2DA files from the older BGT-BP game so maybe one of them allows for spell-casting when the normal engine settings don't. I'd have to do some serious digging to find this out but it would be best to know.

From this I gather that there is at least few strings mess ups with the character sound lines, as the lines show in the text box(this was without the subtitles on).
Erky's "What would you have of me?" and there might be others, although I wasn't able to produce anything in just now.

Jarno, can you check if you can hear all of Candella's soundset? Althon's as well. Are any sounds strange or just silent?

Jarno, can you check if you can hear all of Candella's soundset? Althon's as well. Are any sounds strange or just silent?

Well I do hear most of Althon's, although I can't seem the be able to get the "Let us slay the worthless and the gullible." line to even print with the subtitles turned on.
One of Althon's selection sounds might be silent as if he has one between the "Let us slay the worthless and the gullible." and "I hear your need my friend." But all the rest of them are fine.

There is same thing for Candella, between the "I mussed my hair." and "Can I help you?" She also rarely says answers(with a sound) to my command, and she also has a strings mess ups, as she gives me the line "My feat hurt."
By the way, that's without the command subtitles. Now that I have enabled them, I don't hear the Candella's "Once this was beyond my imagination, but that was a long time ago." "If only I could do as much for all of in need of me. I try so hard." "I can do more, you know?" "It's almost beneath me." "My magic is at your command." But I do hear the "Do you like my perfume?" "Ouh, I am sorry, did I do something wrong?" "I have a headache."
Hmm no wonder I felt like she was a little downer, so there are quite few lines that are messed up, but I never even noticed it before, darn should have never cheated those boots of speed.

Also I checked Rivian's and there, hmm are only quite a few line that are played; just four selections sounds, and only one command response "I shall follow your command." Which gets annoying quite fast so... But they are all rightly subtitled as they are displayed.
Posted Image

PS the lines should be quite exact, so you should get the jist of them. And I'll edit this post when I find more. That is until Leahnkain or Sir BillyBob responds. ;)
Anymore things you would like for me to check out, just ask...

Also I can't hear Vildamyrs "Hey." line, nor Blush's "I'll keep my eyes open." But the rest of their and Aesdale, Chaarna(1), Erky, Icar, Rihn, Paraway and Shadow 's lines all come out as meant, while Catharandamus, and Aleigha's are little late to come, they are all fine too.

Very strange. Everything is fine in DLTCEP and NearInfinity. All the sounds can be played and they are all linked to their proper comments.

Rivian does still have some recording problems. There are some sounds that are so quiet I couldn't modify them without causing major static to the recordings. However, the text should always appear on the screen as far as I know.

SirBillyBob, I have always had trouble with Nalia's sounds in that soundset. Is it possible to link those sounds directly with the sounds found in the game?
