My pc is an aasimar sorcerer... my problem is that my pc receives less experience points than my other npc's, approximately 80% less... now, I know that aasimar's are supposed to level up one level slower than other races, but am I supposed to receive less experience as well? the mods I have installed are Tragidor module, HeadsForAll, escrimator scimitars and charlie's base items.

Do you have a multi-class, as as you reseave Xp penalty from all the none Favored class once, if they are dominant: Favored class is for aasimar, Paladin.

Ah... I see. Yes, I do... thanks :P So I'll be leveling up slower than everyone else for the rest of eternity now? Rogue/Sorcerer Aasimar is a bad pick?

If the two classes are one level apart or the same level, you should be all right. So a Sorcerer 4/Rogue 2 will gain 20% less xp, but a Sorcerer 4/Rogue 3 won't (Prestige classes ignore this rule). Otherwise, yes, Sorcerer/Rogue with an Aasimar won't work too well. :(

Yes Bluenose, is correct, for more info here. If you do want to make a good Rogue/Sorcerer you might want to consider a Wild Elf. Or human and halves.

Ah... well, the only reason I picked one Rogue level was for a small skill boost in diplomacy.. I considered going for a human instead of aasimar, but despite the able learner feat and overall adaptability, I find humans to be a bit... erm... boring. My last time through I played a drow wizard multi classing to arcane scholar when the time was right... the thing that frustrated me about my wizard pc was that qara seemed so much better than him.. so I decided to pick sorcerer this time 'round. Anyone got a more 'creative' sorcerer build than sor20/ac10? I guess that with an aasimar the only other class I could add to the mix would be prestige or paladin... hrm...

Things of Possible interest:
Caster Progression
Eldritch Knight, -1 level of spellcasting, but after that high BAB Fort saves, and a D6 for HP.
Pale Master, 1/2 progression, a very necromantic based PrC, and with an alginment restriction(non-good) but a few nice abilities.
Arcane Scholar, Full progression, Obviously you know about it, but some nice abilities.

No Caster Progression But Tied to Casters(Do you get more spells after level 20?)
Arcane Archer, a pretty nice bit of abilities(or so Mene tells me) but only Elves or half-Elves so moving on.
Dragon Disciple, the extra HP can be a big help as can the other abilities. You're saddled with red only, but still some nice Stat upgrades and some Natural armor and a breath weapon. At level 10 you get immunity to sleep, paralysis, fear, and fire(Darkvision too, but aasimar already got that).

Or if you want go for those levels of Paladin, maybe not a full ten, but a few are said to mesh excellently with a sorcerer's Cha.

Pimping out your sorcerer.

You could try Sorcerer/Paladin/Arcane Scholar - levels to taste, but I'd suggest at least 3 as a paladin. There are several advantages to this. Firstly, the paladin has Divine Grace, and gets to add his/her charisma bonus to all saving throws, which helps a lot. You'll have a few more hit points, and better weapons available too. Also, at 3rd level the paladin gets Turn Undead. This isn't particularly useful itself, because you probably won't have enough levels in Paladin to make it useful, but it does enable you to select some of the Divine feats - these generally work off charisma for their effectiveness and duration, and while some aren't all that useful adding your charisma bonus to your AC for a few rounds can really help. The rather nasty combination that you can do with this, once you reach epic levels, involves the Still Spell feat. Below epic it let's you cast your spells in armour by using a spell slot one level higher, and as a sorcerer you can do that when you like - so with paladin letting you use heavy armour, you can be casting in full plate happily. At epic levels, the Automatic Still Spell feat makes that work without needing to use a higher level slot, though you have to take it three times for it to work with all levels of spell. One other thing to note, once you've reached 20th level in a spellcasting class you don't get extra spells/day, although your caster level does continue to increase so they'll be more effective. With Arcane Scholar 10, you only need 10 levels in sorcerer to reach your maximum ability. 3 levels in Paladin, which I suggest above, doesn't take you to the level limit. Dragon Disciple for seven levels would get you a lot of useful stat bonuses, extra hit points, a fairly feeble breath weapon, and a few other goodies. At 30th level you can be in full plate all the time, casting spells like a 20th level sorcerer with superior saving throws, higher hit points, better AC, and better in melee than a normal caster. Practiced Spellcaster (Sorcerer) will help your caster level too. The main requirement is Lawful Good alignment, and you won't have any xp penalties. Plus, since you want Diplomacy as a class skill, you can get that from your paladin levels - I suggest taking paladin as your first level, since you'll have more skill points to spend there. You will need high ranks in Spellcraft for the Automatic Still Spell trick, but that's what the spellcaster levels are for.

Back from the brink.

Very good idea of Bluenose,

In my personal opinion if you can go epic I would indeed go for Eldritch Knight for a Paladin/Sorcerer combination (Sorc 11/ Paladin 3/ Eldricht knight 10 for maximum caster level, and BAB of +18 (!)). With the feats Bluenose gave you also have the base attack for spells that require range touch attack, and a back up when spell are out for some reason. After all, why cast everything one slot higher as to wear armor as you never stand in the front line. To make a nice eldritch knight you can use a few ranged spells as starter and than buff before that. Trust me you be a power house. It is a bit power play though....

Still modding the Mod for the Wicked... It is a big project you know... And I got sidetracked (several times) a bit... sorry.
