So what do various creatures look like? Describe the following intelligent creatures in one sentence.

Asabi

Malenti

Phaerimm

Sharn

Stingers

Answers:

The Bedine are nomads of the Anauroch desert.

The Ffolk are the indigenous population of the Moonshae Islands.

The Gur are wanderers through the Western Heartlands and nearby areas.

The Turami are the native population of Mulhorand, now outnumbered by the Mulan. Those who migrated after the Mulan arrived now live mostly in Turmish.

The Ulutiun dwell in arctic regions of Faerun and Kara-tur.

Right, let's see what we can do on our own this time. *grits teeth*

Asabi: Lizards with some humanoid characteristics and armour-like scales on the upper bodies.

Malenti: (I gather they look just like sea elves but I can't find a picture of one!)

Phaerimm: Worm-like creatures with four clawed arms and a great, circular mouth with teeth all round, somewhat reminiscent of the sand worms in Dune.

Sharn: Jet-black, growing from a main stalk, something like a multi-headed and multi-armed [i]Alien/i].

Stingers: Body of a scorpion, and head, body and arms of a man.

** Do any of these fine animals appear in any of the game mods?

Asabi

Lizard-like reptilian humanoids that live in the desert.

Malenti

Sahuagin that are visually identical to aquatic elves.

Phaerimm

Evil sea anemone/worm-like aberrations with tentacles.

Sharn

Um... three-headed hairless things with twelve arms and snake-like tail-things.

Stingers

Centaur-style scorpion men, with a red-skinned and handsome human component.

Asabi: Desert-dwelling reptilian bi-pedal humanoids, with a bit shorter tail and downward mouth in comparison to Lizardfolk

Malenti: When Sahuagin live close to aquatic elves, about 1 in a 100 looks exactly like an aquatic elf.

(In comparison to their true Sahuagin cousins, they swim slower, but can be on land twice as long)

Phaerimm: An barbed worm-like abberation with on one end a stinger, and other a 'head' resembling a sea anemone with a mouth full of teeth and four claws.

(Had a great impact on Fearūn... see the book Lost Empires)

Sharn: An abberation with a hairless, oily black single body that sprouts three eye-less heads and three arms that lead to three claws.

(Had some problems with the Phearimm... as to state an understatement)

Stingers: This monstrous humanoid has from the waist down the body of a scorpion, whereas it has the upper body of a human alike centaurs have with horses.

Today, I'm describing some races. Some of those descriptions are false. Which descriptions are wrong? And for a tie-breaker, what am I actually describing in the false descriptions?

Jermlaine are small blue skinned humanoids that live in remote areas. They are generally cowardly, willing to attack only if they greatly outnumber a party, but hate halflings enough to attack even when they have little advantage. Prisoners can expect to be sacrificed to their god, Raxivort.

Illumians look like normal humans. While they are physically identical, and can have normal human children with a human partner, they have one significant difference. In addition to their human soul/spirit, they carry a fragment of a spirit exiled from the Plane of Nightmares. This spirit grants them some natural psionic abilities, and Illumians often become powerful psions.

Shalarin are a race of aquatic humanoids. Their most prominent feature is a fin running from the bridge of their nose over their head and down to the base of their spine. Other fins are found at their elbows and knees. They have gills along the sides of their torso, and their skin is grey and similar to that of dolphins.

Tabaxi resemble normal lizardmen, but lack a tail. Their skin ranges in colour from olive green to khaki. They have long talons on their hands and feet. If they need to fly they are capable of turning into a pteranodon, or of turning their arms into wings.

Muls stand larger in stature then even the greatest Orcs, averaging close to 10' tall and weighing 300 lbs or more. Their skin is dark grey and contains small pebblie-like abrasions. They have wide skulls, jutting eyebrows and wide jaws. Most muls live in isolated mountainous areas.

Answers:

Asabi: humanoid newts/

Malenti: sahuagin that look exactly like aquatic elves.

Phaerimm: windsocks with big teeth and spindly arms.

Sharn: large black-skinned creatures with three heads and arms, that fly naturally.

Stingers: they have the torso of a human(oid) on the body and legs of a scorpion.

Those would be Xvarts, not Jermlaine.

You should know better than to sneak this one past me. :) I want to say you're talking about Maenads, but I don't think so. Definitely not Illumians, at any rate.

Other fins are found at their elbows and knees. They have gills along the sides of their torso, and their skin is grey and similar to that of dolphins.

Correct.

Tabaxi resemble normal lizardmen, but lack a tail. Their skin ranges in colour from olive green to khaki. They have long talons on their hands and feet. If they need to fly they are capable of turning into a pteranodon, or of turning their arms into wings.

Sorry, that's Pterrafolk, not Tabaxi.

Muls are actually dwarf/human hybrids native to the Dark Sun setting. I believe you're describing Goliaths, or maybe Stonechildren.

Jermlaine False - Actually describing Xvarts

Illumians False - Sounds somewhat like the Inspired, but they are Eberron only, and not quite the Plane of Nightmares, but a plane of dreams.

Shalarin True

Tabaxi False - Pterrafolk

Muls False - Apart from the 10' sounds pretty much exactly like Goliaths, though quite similar to the stonechild as well. Neither is 10' though. Still voting for Goliath

Boy this took a lot of thinking and searching... I tended to go by name before I realised description might be right and race wrong, and the god name helped for instance :P

Jermlaine are small blue skinned humanoids that live in remote areas. They are generally cowardly, willing to attack only if they greatly outnumber a party, but hate halflings enough to attack even when they have little advantage. Prisoners can expect to be sacrificed to their god, Raxivort. - False; This describes Xvarts - Jermlaine flee for all if not vastly outnumbering them and have no God of their own

- False; This sounds to me like the Kalasthar of the Eberron setting as these are exciled (and Inspired come of their own choosing within human vessels (with a hint of elven and demonic blood))

- True as far as I could find

Tabaxi resemble normal lizardmen, but lack a tail. Their skin ranges in colour from olive green to khaki. They have long talons on their hands and feet. If they need to fly they are capable of turning into a pteranodon, or of turning their arms into wings. - False; The description gives it away. These people are alike pteranodons and are called Pterrafolk - Tabaxi are also know as cat folk in the Elder Scrolls

- False; Muls are a non-fertile Human-Dwarf Hybrid bred as slaves of the Dark Sun setting and do not have this height or skin type.
I am choosing Goliath as they have a stature larger than orcs, way around that mount, their skins have pebble-like bums on them (not really abrasions according to Oxford dictionary (had to look it up) but pretty close). They also have wide skulls, and jutting eyebrows. They also live in mountainous areas.

My footnote on the last: Stonechildren are seemingly to me more smooth in their skin. Stone with veins through them so to say, and I find their eyebrows not a remarkable feature.
As my asteemed opponents I could not place the height , and I looked through stuff even like Galeb Duhr (also flat head, and eyebrows, but start of at 4 feet) and Maug (flatter sking, correct height, as heavy as 1.500 pounds) but could find no closer matching due to the pebble-like marks.

Still modding the Mod for the Wicked... It is a big project you know... And I got sidetracked (several times) a bit... sorry.

What I described as Jermlaine are actually Xvarts

The Illumians are Kalashtar from the Eberron setting.

The Shalarin are Shalarin.

Tabaxi? No, that was Pterrafolk.

And the creatures I described as Muls used the description of Goliaths.

And the Results:

Deathsangel, 56
Tempest, 46.5
Kellen, 39
Jarno Mikkole, 19
Scipio, 18

Today, we start a round of questions on the people all DMs like. Secretly most players also like them. After all, what's a great hero without a great villain to oppose them.

Today's villain of the day is Manshoon. The questions about him are:

What organisation was he head of before a slight mishap?

Who is now head of that organisation?

What spell did he develop that in his view made death a temporary problem?

How did it go wrong when he was killed? What was the the woman. once an apprentice of Elminster, who became his lover called.

What organisation was he head of before a slight mishap? - Founder of Zhentarim; the Black Network

Who is now head of that organisation? - One of his assassins; Fzoul Chembryl

What spell did he develop that in his view made death a temporary problem? - The spell: Clone

How did it go wrong when he was killed? - Clones started killing eachother as they all believed they were the real Manshoonl. Three remain, one now working under Fzoul, one with Halcaster, one with the thieves of Westgate

What was the the woman. once an apprentice of Elminster, who became his lover called.
- no clue, I can only find a story of an assassin of Manshoon and an assassin of Khelben falling in love with one another. I can only mentioning of apprentices of Elminster having died at the hands of the original Manshoon...

Todays question is about Szass Tam. Which of the following statements are true and which are false?

Szass Tam is a Red Wizard, Zulkir (head) of the school of Necromancy.

He tries to disguise the fact that he is a lich most of the time, but some of the other Zulkirs suspect it.

When the Red Wizards began to set up their enclaves across Toril selling magical equipment, Szass Tam was one of the supporters of the concept.

At one time he was in competition with Velkaroon trying to obtain knowledge of ritual that would make the user a god. It was after Szass Tam lost that he became Zulkir.

Szass Tam has had dealings with the Twisted Rune, an organisation of undead based in Calimshan, and has exchanged knowledge and even magical artifacts with them.

Answers:

Manshoon was the head of the Zhentarim (Black Network).

The Zhentarim are now controlled by Fzoul Chembryl, Chosen of Bane.

The spell he thought would make death temporary was a modification of the clone spell that sealed the clone in stasis until he was killed. Using it repeatedly, Manshoon believed that he would be able to recover from death quickly.

When he was killed, instead of one clone awakening and taking his place, all of them woke up and tried to destroy the other clones.

His mistress was known as the Shadowsil, and she was a former apprentice of Elminster's before joining the Zhentarim.

Szass Tam is a Red Wizard, Zulkir (head) of the school of Necromancy. - True

He tries to disguise the fact that he is a lich most of the time, but some of the other Zulkirs suspect it. - False, I believe this false as I have the feeling a lot of people know he is a lich... he is not too open about it sending magical images to talk to others, but I think "some of the other" is false.

When the Red Wizards began to set up their enclaves across Toril selling magical equipment, Szass Tam was one of the supporters of the concept. - True

At one time he was in competition with Velkaroon trying to obtain knowledge of ritual that would make the user a god. It was after Szass Tam lost that he became Zulkir. - False, as the were fighting for the title of Zulkir not god (I at least think you mean Velsharoon not Velkaroon);

His chief rival for Zulkirdom was Velsharoon, who later ascended to become a demigod of undeath.

Szass Tam has had dealings with the Twisted Rune, an organisation of undead based in Calimshan, and has exchanged knowledge and even magical artifacts with them. - False, I think you are describing the lich Larloch here

I'm posting this early because of an appointment this afternoon.

Today's subject is Sarya Dlardrageth.

Her parents were a sun elf and which type of demon?

Which ancient elven empire does she come from, Aryvandaar, Cormathor or Siluvanede?

She was imprisoned for millenia beneath which keep?

Which organisation accidentally released her from that prison, the Harpers or the Zhentarim?

Which exiled devil prince aided her in her attempt to take over Myth Drannor after her release?

FALSE. He doesn't attempt to disguise the fact he's a lich, although there are still people who claim that it's just a rumour.

When the Red Wizards began to set up their enclaves across Toril selling magical equipment, Szass Tam was one of the supporters of the concept.
TRUE. He apparently admires the concept.

At one time he was in competition with Velkaroon trying to obtain knowledge of ritual that would make the user a god. It was after Szass Tam lost that he became Zulkir.
FALSE. Szass Tam and Velsharoon {typo}} were competing to become Zulkir of Necromancy. God was Velsharoon's consolation prize.

Szass Tam has had dealings with the Twisted Rune, an organisation of undead based in Calimshan, and has exchanged knowledge and even magical artifacts with them.

Her parents were a sun elf and which type of demon? - Balor

Extra - she herself mated with a Glaberzu and got a four-armed son (almost like the Drow - Glaberzu Half-fiend: a Draegloth)

Which ancient elven empire does she come from, Aryvandaar, Cormathor or Siluvanede? - Cormanthor

She was imprisoned for millenia beneath which keep? - end date capture is 1369 DR, I don't know when it started... Know her to be 5 thousand years old, and that her capture was thousands of years... Half a point? :whistling: ;)

Which organisation accidentally released her from that prison, the Harpers or the Zhentarim? - The Harpers released her from Hellgate Keep

Which exiled devil prince aided her in her attempt to take over Myth Drannor after her release? - The Branded King

Sarevok?s foster-father is an official of the Iron Throne. What?s his name?

Where are other representatives of the Iron Throne believed to be from?

Representatives of which other group are meeting Iron Throne leaders in Candlekeep?

Which organisation is the Iron Throne trying to frame for the iron crisis?
