Hello all,

I am eagerly awaiting my first ever run through of a Tutu BG1 game. However, I am first needing to get a nice stable install with mods included. 1PP is a mod I'd very much like to have on my game but I am having an issue with this particular mod. I have read the associated documentation on 1PP, and have searched some of the community forums for someone with a similar problem, but no such luck yet. The basic error I am having is a total game crash at the Appearance selection on the Character Generation screen. Here are some particulars to my situation:

Platform: Mac OS 10.5.2 on a PowerBook G4 1.33(PPC).
Game: BG+TSC, BG2+TB (full installs, patched)
Install type: MacEasyTutu
Install order: G3
WeiDU version used: 205

Unfortunately, I do not have acces to my WeiDU log atm, so...

Present Location in Install-
Tutufix v17 (Mac)
EasyTutu NPC Kits (Mac)
EasyTutu Spawn Randomizer (Mac)
Ashes of Embers v27 (PC converted)
Herbs & Potions Add-In (PC converted)
Song & Silence v2 (Mac)
Rogue Rebalancing v3.9 (PC converted)
Vedran's Lost Items (PC converted)
iiItem Mod v5 (PC converted)
BG Mini-Quests & Encounters v1 (Mac)
Grey Clan Episode (PC converted)
Sirine's Call v7 (PC converted)
Stone of Askavar (PC converted)
BG1UB v6 (Mac - skipped conflicts)
BG1 NPC Project v15 (Mac)
BG1 Music Pack v4 (Mac)
Xan's BG1 Friendship Talks v4 (Mac)
Coran's Friendship v1 beta (Mac)
Finch NPC v3 (PC converted)
Indira NPC v10 (PC converted)
Mur'Neth NPC v7 (Mac - corrected syntax error with " ' ")
Gavin NPC v3 (Mac)
Jonathan v0.2.1 (PC converted)
---> Here
Moinesse's Avatars v2 (Mac)
One Pixel Productions v2 (Mac)

I only assume that error lies with 1PP as it only occurs when 1PP is installed. Note: installing only the potion component does not result in a game crash. Here's what I've done so far to troubleshoot:

1. Un-installed 1PP and Moinesse and re-installed 1PP wo Moinesse - crash.
2. Re-installed 1PP and installed Moinesse after 1PP - crash.
3. Installed 1PP on vanilla (patched) ToB install, no other mods - crash.
4. Installed 1PP on vanilla (patched) SoA install, no other mods - crash with the following error msg: An assertion failed in chidimm.cpp at line number 2213 Progammer says: MemError.

Note: the SoA install is the only crash event that generates an error message. The other installs just crash out to the desktop with the Mac-standard "ignore, report, relaunch" message. I have no idea if the "MemError" refers to my machine, but just in case: I have 2gb ram and 30+gb drive space. The final thing I haven't tried (and will tonight) is using the PC version and converting for Mac use.

Is there something I have missed or done incorrectly? From what I've read, this mod is the shizzat, so hopefully there's a solution out there. Saw this post, but the link to the Mac remix file is dead. Sorry for the Wall of Text, 15' Radius :) but I hear devs like specifics...

Thanks and Cheers,
Az

Latest Mac-compatible 1PP: Here.

Older versions of the mod will invariably crash when used with the Mac port of BG2, due to a heightened sensitivity to shall-we-say decoy files. There are threads covering this both here and at G3, if you're interested in the details.

The link above should work. :)

I'm sorry for the inconvenience with 1pp on Macs at the moment.

I'd hate to resurrect this thread, but the link to the fix is dead now.  :(

Can someone please upload the fix?

You don't need it anymore. The versions hosted here should work. :)

Really? I had just got it and for some reason the crash-at-appearance bug persists.

That's odd. People who tested it have indicated it worked without problems.

Does it crash for any character class/gender combination or just some? Do you have anything else affecting paperdolls installed (such as 1pp components other than the v2 install, etc.)?

Also, does it crash with "An assertion failed in chidimm.cpp" specifically?

Hmmm, I should've been more specific. On the Mac version of Tutu (EasyTutu in this case) implemented on ToB, we need to use a SoA version of the BG application in order to create a single-class character. 1PP works in main ToB app, but for some reason that assertion appears in the SoA app.

Also, for some reason my test-half-orc barbarian didn't have a paperdoll. No crashing though, and I don't typically play barbarians.

It sounds like something in your installation went wrong.

1ppv2 does not touch half-orc paperdolls at all, only the later components do. The issues you're describing do sound a bit like you have some incompletely (un/)installed in your game. You could try installing the more recent paperdolls on top of your install and see if that fixes the issue.
