Can I get some simple instructions on how to install Trilogy? I'm using Vista Home Premium. If more information is needed, I'll post it. If anyone can help, I'd really appreciate it.

You can get BGT from: http://www.shsforums...amp;showfile=54
BGT Readme: http://www.spellhold...e/BGTReadme.htm
BGT Forum: http://www.shsforums...p?showforum=261
You may also want to check out the BGT Tweak-Pack: http://www.shsforums...amp;showfile=67
That should be all you need. Install and fully patch all of the BG series. Then turn off UAC, and follow the BGT Readme.
Then, of course, enjoy.

I also have the 4 disc dvd and Im attempting to get the best experience playing bg as possible. I have played tosc before but stopped when i goto city of baldursgate, and I also played soa untill i reached the all seeing eye. I never even new about all the mods and the fact you can play the whole game at once in a bg2 engine, that is awesome. My goal is to do most of the megamods and the bgt.
One pointer for us newbie, they say to install bg, then tosc, then soa, then tob. I installed them all in the same path, no one mentioned to install them in seperate path. This might be obvious, but i thought the trilogy combines everything, so i put it all in one folder, oops. Part 2 has overwritten part 1 files, now i have to go back and install the first game seperately.
I will keep you all updated on if I can get this to work.
I look forward to playing the modded up trilogy, as this is my favorite game.
Tremor is this your first time playing, if you like we can join for multiplayer game, or i can help you out some, let me know. Im off fri and sat thru sun at 4pm usa westcoast time.

Yes, do set your clearances and turn off UAC. But there is more.
What I had to do to get an installation that might be useful for a modder, i.e. one that will allow you to edit the .ini:
- Ensure that all previous attempts at installation are gone from your computer, uninstalled, with all the folders the installation created deleted.
- Create a directory in the C: drive that isn't Program Files. I called mine Gaming.
- Create a folder inside Gaming called Black Isle.
- Create a folder inside Black Isle called BGII - SoA
- Begin to install the game.
- When it gets to the part where the installer asks for the directory into which you should install BG/BG2, retype the path shown, substituting "Gaming" for "Program Files". In my case, it was c:\gaming\black isle\bgii - soa
- Complete the installation of BG and BG2. You'll use c:\gaming\black isle\baldurs gate for BG1 and c:\gaming\black isle\bgii - soa for BG2.
- Install ToB. Since your registry shows the path to the game, you don't choose the installation directory.
- Install official patch 26498. It's available from bioware.com.
- Go to the folders, view properties, and select the security tab. Deselect the "read only" box.
- Hit "apply" and go through all the hoops that Vista makes you go through to change the setting. Mostly, it's just hitting "continue".
- Congratulate yourself for having avoided the 8 hour trial and error period it took me to figure out how to get an installation with an editable baldur.ini.
