After you've helped the Radiant Heart to get rid of the renegade paladins in the Bridge district you find two pairs of worn-out boots among the items left by the slain. Are these boots any use or are they just there to annoy me?

Well, there is a mod that uses them to create a boots of somethingoranother, so if Cromwell can't make anything out of them, you are out of luck.

They are good for consuming valuable inventory space as you cling to them in hopes that they'll prove useful. Oh, and you can sell them for a gold piece.

Thanks, folks. I'm glad I didn't keep them. The first time round they did clog up my inventory for a day or two.

I thought they were wearable? You know... so that your heroes would not step into something human in the steps of Athkatla barefooted...

Yeah, I, too, used to give my party members boots (even useless/non-magical), just so they were clothed. Silly of me, I know.

I do the same... although being a blatant sexist I try to undress the female members of my party. That's probably why my portrait of Jaheira is an agency photo of Naomi Watts in a bikini. OK, ladies, hammer me again, I'm used to it -- and I know lycra doesn't provide much armour protection. But we South African men secretly love Aussie girls even if we pretend to hate their male cricketers, so I'll protect Druid Naomi.

Actually, that's a considerate thought, given the animation of the male human cleric in plate mail... it has no shoes. Really. If you change the skin color, the foot color changes, so it isn't short boots or anything. Of course, adding a pair of boots doesn't help, but it's a nice thought.
