Which mods to install

Theres just so many mods and so much new information and I've been away from the BG scene for so long ( ) that I have to ask: which mods should I install?
I tried a huge mega installs about 1.5 to 2 years ago. The mods I had installed were:
The baldurdash fixes
BGTTweak
Unfinished Business
D0Quest Tweaks (or something like that)
Big Picture
BGTutu
some of the G3 tweaks
dsotsc
ntotsc
SoS
maybe a few other. It's been so long that i cant remember.
Once I had my install completed I started up the game. I was having a lot of fun too until the dreaded stutter bug kicked in. How common is the stutter bug nowadays anyway?
Now I just want something "relatively" stable. Or at least something that wont pop up with the stutter bug so much. I'm not looking for any extra NPC mods or any of the romance type mods. The npc's and the romance stories of the game were good enough. Though maybe something that expands on the existing npc's would be nice. I would like the game fixes and tweaks. Maybe a few of the big mods like the ones I had. I mainly play a mage or sorceror type for my main character so some mods that are a bit magic focused or with extra spells would be nice.
Which mods should I be looking to download? Thanks in advance for your help.

When you install Tutu, choose EasyTutu, because it keeps your BG2 installation intact.
After you've got Tutu installed in its own directory, you're better off using the G3 BG2 Fixpack than you would be using Baldurdash. It fixes a lot of bugs that Baldurdash doesn't touch.

For SoS, Dark/Northern side of the Sword Coast, please read stickies at Mega Mod forum - these mods are considered "big", and they boost the probability of your installation becoming "difficult" considerably.
Same goes for Big Picture - perhaps you'll consider Sword Coast Stratagems II instead. In any case, asking more experienced users at Mega Mod forums about these mods is strongly recommended(or waiting for their opinion here ).
And, yes, please listen to berelinde and install EasyTutu, not BG1 Tutu v4. With or without BG1 NPC, as you prefer.
And check the modlist: perhaps you'll find something else to your liking.
IWD NPC, Xan, The Sellswords, Back to Brynnlaw, Assassinations, Dungeon Crawl, Reunion, Branwen, Coran, Tiax, Xan BG1 Friendship
BG1 NPC, Romantic Encounters

That's is for this you know. So you could use it insted of BGTutu, but...BGTTweak
Don't forget the BG1 Unfinished Business, because of the Unfinished Business(BG2).
The Grey Clan Episode I: In Candlelight(BGT version), is good too. (although, I can't connect to blackwyrmlair for now, as it's offline for me, you might have better luck in a while later)
And I highly recommend the G3 BG2 Fixpack instead of Baldurdash Fixes, as the G3 is most resent... Unless you play the Improved Anvil(almost a total convertion mod) and they maintain their own pack.

One more question. What is the easiest way to change the class of the NPCs? For example, I have never really liked Imoen as a Thief/Mage in BG 2. Would it cause too many problems if I did change their default class?
