*Sneaks out of the Oblivion forums into a vast new world*

Hey there! These are some pictures that I finished recently of my character Korreen. As this is my first time coloring something via photoshop, any constructive comments or advice would be helpful.

You can see more of my art and the full rez pics here.

Anyways, here's the pics:

Korreen is an elf(think Lord of the Rings more than Forgotten Realms) character that I came up with for one of the stories my friend is writing.
I also made her as a character for Oblivion, and I plan on re-creating her soon.

In this universe Korreen was a paladin who followed Lent, the two-faced elven god of life and death, and she was dedicated to the destruction of evil and the preservation of life. But due to various circumstances (which will be revealed later), Korreen felt that she had failed in her duty to Lent and also to the ones closest to her.

As a result of this, she invoked the Ya'maiahel, or The Path of The Walking Death. Once a bearer of Light for Lent, she would become a bearer of Death for Lent. This was a rare event, and it allowed a servant of Lent to further prove their devotion by becoming an instrument of death for the deity.

Korreen underwent the painful ritual scarring required of a Death Paladin, where runes of doom and destruction were literally carved into her skin and her hair was cut short and bleached of all color(it was originally black and very long). As was the tradition, she was allowed to place the last ritual scar herself. Without hesitation she took the ceremonial blade and drew it across the left side of her face. As the blood flowed down her face, he vowed that she would not see again from her left eye until she had completed her duty towards Lent.

Korreen was given an archaic suit of obsidian armor and powerful cursed mace taken from the previous Death Paladin. The mace, Senka, absorbed the soul of anyone it killed, further strengthening the mace and the one who wielded it. Once the entire ritual was complete, Lent bestowed upon Korreen powerful soul-stealing abilities of Death in replacement of her powers of Light.

Her friends, family, and comrades were required to turn their backs and shun her until Lent deemed her quest was complete. And so Korreen left, mounted atop her armored warhorse. She now wanders the world alone, following Lent?s guidance and killing all who have strayed from the light and fallen into darkness.

There is actually quite a bit more to her story than that...but I would have to explain about ten other things from the story for it to make sense.

Constructive criticism welcome.

She sounds fascinating, cyborgakadjmoose, and your pictures are great. :) Do you have any other work? I'm sure we'd all love to see it! :D

Thanks!

I don't have anything else that's colored at the moment. You can take a look at my site to see my other pics, but I don't feel that I have anything on there that is post-worthy. I guess I'm picky.

Once I get another pic done and possibly colored, I'll be sure to post it! ^_^

I like the style and the colors, but... wouldn't "Paladin of Death" be a better description? And because I am really bad artist and even worse demon, let's keep on picking the bad side. The lighting in the second work is perfect, but... on the first, something is off. Namelly the black flame, it has no reflectionary force, so basically it's like it's not even there! The armor reflects the light from the upper right side off her. But if the black flame would draw the light, there would be more dark spots in the armor mostly on the flames side and shape or something. So the other gauntlet and belt for example would be much better lighted than it's now.

Now, the story is fascinating, and I would like to hear more about it, and see more pictures... so.

Eh...maybe...I guess I thought "Paladin of Death, Paladin of whatever" sounded too cliche. Maybe I should just come up with a term for "Death Paladin" in Elvish...Problem solved!

Yeah...I think what looks off on the lighting is I didn't add the reflectionary light on the opposite side of the light source. Maybe I should do that...

As for the black flame...well...the color black by nature is an absence of color and light. So I don't think it would actually give off any light, be it a dark aura or something...
Not like we have any black fire to check out for an example. :D If it was any other color though, then you are exactly right.

For me to continue the story...I would need to draw the other crucial character to her story. And as of yet her story is just in a bio form. I'm still not sure if I'll just post the bio or expound on it.

Thank you for the comments!

So a friend of mine pointed out to me that Korreen's skin is green...
Being colorblind sucks sometimes...like right now...

So...expected to see non-green-skinned pictures of her at some point...

As a side note...here is Korreen in her Oblivion form. Go check out the Oblivion screenshots forum for more screens in the future!

So...she was supposed to be non-greenish? Intresting, but I was so hoping you would keep it. Ahh either way, keep it coming.

The green was pretty cool (if a little Dragonball), but I love how close the drawing is to the actual model. :D

Thanks JM and SpAE!

Although I'd say it was the other way around, with my Oblivion character being based more off the drawing...but whatever.

As for the green skin...I think I might change it just for my conscience...because of the fact I know it's green and not flesh tone. But then that means more painting!

Eh...I'll decided at some point when I feel like painting again.
