I'm currently in the underdark and just had the conversation in private with Pheare and turned her down but got no interjection fron Nathaniel about it. He acts fine untill I enter the temple of Lloth, then he begins to stutter after acting as if I tried to initiate a flirt. I haven't met Latimer yet, could that be the issue?

Someone else had this problem too. I don't think it has anything to do with Latimer. Try reloading and talking to Phaere again, and after rejecting her, wait around for Nathaniel to say something to you. He should eventually interject saying how worried he was. Don't leave the area and don't talk to anyone until he says it.

I had this issue too, I couldn't seem to fix it so I stopped the whole Ust Natha business and just left out the Kua-Toa caves.
