Ran into trouble with d0tweak trying to patch summoning cap. I've sent the DEBUG file to simding0@hotmail.com
It went on like this:

ERROR: illegal 4-byte read from offset 358 of 210-byte file BELT05.ITM
ERROR: [BELT05.ITM] -> [override/BELT05.ITM] Patching failed (COPY) (FailureBELT05.ITM read out of bounds") )
Stopping installation because of error.
Stopping installation because of error.
Stopping installation because of error.

Therefore it didn't install due to errors.

Also attached it here. What can be done to fix it?

Can you post the textual contents of your WeiDU.log just after you received this error?

OK, can I get you to do something extra.

Navigate to the directory where you have this mega-mod installed in Windows Explorer.
Rename any one of the Setup-*.exe files to WeiDU.exe (unless a WeiDU.exe is there already).
Go to your command line (Run... cmd), and navigate to the mega-mod installation directory.
Then type in

WeiDU --change-log BELT05.ITM >> log.txt

Wait for it to finish, then quit cmd.
A text file called log.txt should be created in your mega-mod installation directory. Can you post its textual contents?

I had the same issue occur once in the past. The only mod that touches belt05.itm is BG2Fixpack. From that .tp2:

// strips extraneous default(0) abiity headers from items to prevent nishruu eating

COPY_EXISTING ~belt05.itm~ ~override~

PATCH_IF (SOURCE_SIZE > 0x71) THEN BEGIN // protects against invalid files

READ_LONG 0x64 "abil_off"

READ_SHORT 0x68 "abil_num"

READ_LONG 0x6a "fx_off"

READ_SHORT 0x70 "fx_num"

SET "fx_delta" = 0

FOR (index = 0; index < abil_num; index = index + 1) BEGIN // looks for default ability header

READ_BYTE ("%abil_off%" + ("%index%" * 0x38)) "type"

PATCH_IF ("%type%" = 0) BEGIN // default ability check

READ_SHORT (0x1e + "%abil_off%" + ("%index%" * 0x38)) "abil_fx_num"

READ_SHORT (0x20 + "%abil_off%" + ("%index%" * 0x38)) "abil_fx_idx"

DELETE_BYTES ("%fx_off%" + (0x30 * ("%abil_fx_idx%" - "%fx_delta%"))) (0x30 * "%abil_fx_num%") // deletes all associated effects

DELETE_BYTES ("%abil_off%" + ("%index%" * 0x38)) 0x38 // deletes ability itself

SET "fx_delta" = ("%fx_delta%" + "%abil_fx_num%")

SET "abil_num" = ("%abil_num%" - 1)

SET "index" = ("%index%" - 1)

SET "fx_off" = ("%fx_off%" - 0x38)

END ELSE BEGIN // if non-melee ability, need to adjust effect indices

READ_SHORT (0x20 + "%abil_off%" + ("%index%" * 0x38)) "abil_fx_idx"

WRITE_SHORT (0x20 + "%abil_off%" + ("%index%" * 0x38)) ("%abil_fx_idx%" - "%fx_delta%")

END

END

WRITE_SHORT 0x68 "%abil_num%"

WRITE_LONG 0x6a "%fx_off%"

END

BUT_ONLY_IF_IT_CHANGES

BG2Fixpack is attempting to remove the default (0) ability headers from a whole slew of items, and for whatever reason, it appears the code misfires from time to time, and the ability header never gets removed. I went back and looked at a fixpack patched only install and my belt05.itm still listed 1 ability. I then uninstalled BG2Fixpack and ran it again and this time belt05.itm listed no abilities and only the 2 effects. Try running your install again with the attached belt05.itm and see if it works.

No. Just copy the one you have to a safe place, and put the attached one in override and see if it works correctly when you try to run the summoning cap removal component of d0tweaks..

OK, thanks. Yeah it could be BG2Fixpack not doing its job intermittently. Don't know why that would be the case, though. I haven't had any problems with it so far.

An alternative to erebusant's idea is to MOVE BELT05.ITM from the override to somewhere (without replacing it with any copy), and see if the Summoning Cap Removal component installs.

It is the very same issue i HAD here before installing my current game:
http://www.shsforums...showtopic=31411

I'm not sure Bg2 fixpack has issue with Belt05.itm ... it was NOT in my override folder but ONLY in SoS folder and i got the same error when installing D0 removing summoning cap. I fixed the issue changing the belt05.itm locally. May be something related to SoS and Bg2 fixpack ...

erebusant: Seems like I never had one in the first place in my \override. Placing yours (or the ones from over.bak directories did nothing, resulted in same error)

Ascension64: That alternative is invalid since there wasn't one in \override to begin with.

mm75: You are correct! Turns out BELT05.ITM was only in \BGT\over.bak\ and \SOS\over.bak\. However I don't quite get the part how you managed to fix it. Could you please give a more elaborated answer?

I'll send u a temporary belt05.itm to use BEFORE installing that component, feel free to delete it from your override folder later 'cause u don't need it :-)

This is what happens when mods or people indiscriminately BIFF everything in their override. SoS-WeiDU does not even touch BELT05.ITM except to BIFF it. Therefore, unless the BIFFing process is at fault, BG2 Fixpack is still screwing up the item in some way that prevents D0Tweak from patching it correctly.

Sorry i forgot that work Xenu ...

A temp solution. Cut the belt05.itm from SoS folder and copy on your desktop. Then install the summoning cap removal comp. When it finishes, copy back the belt05.itm u saved on your desktop in your Sos folder.

mm75

Tired of the same boring spawned creatures u face in BG? Try BGSpawn

You'll probably find that the belt05.itm from both the BGT and the SoS folder are completely identical.

If mm75's method doesn't work, try creating a 0-byte file called belt05.itm and chuck that in the override. If the component installs, make sure you delete the 0-byte file, else the game might crash if it tries to use that item.
