BGT Music & GUI

just a quick question ... in the past i always needed to run the GUI and select BGT GUI to have BG1 sounds during the BG1 part of the game. Now i noticed BGT Music adds the same and i need to run it for BG1 songs. I'm wondering about the GUI, is it the BGT one a MUST to use to have BG1 Music? If not, and i guess not, is it sufficient to UNINSTALL the BGT Music (Bg1/TotSC component) at the very beginning of the BG2 part of the game?
Thanks,
mm75
Tired of the same boring spawned creatures u face in BG? Try BGSpawn

No, the music and the GUI are completely independent and optional. I advise uninstalling music when you get to BG2 (unless you use the hybrid one, which preserves all BG2 music anyway).Hi ascension64,

Anyway, the post-installation notes should give a good enough description on what they do, but I'll try and KISS it here. When you read this, forget everything that you already know about BGT Music and GUI.
BGT Music (optional)
This adjusts the music in the game to one of two choices: Full BG:TotSC music activates exactly that at the expense of much of the BG2 music (hence, if this is installed during the BG2 part of the game, music heard will be BG:TotSC music and may not reflect when the music should day/night/battle music). Users of this are advised to uninstall this add-on after they transition from BG:TotSC to Shadows of Amn.
Hybrid BG/BG2 music incorporates partial BG:TotSC music and completely preserves BG2 music. While most of the BG:TotSC music is there, music that isn't there is altered to either BG1 or BG2 music in a way that the music still reflects the location and situation the player is in. Hybrid music existed in old versions of BGT-WeiDU.
BGT Music is made available only after installation of BGT-WeiDU. Run Setup-BGTMusic.exe and follow the prompts. This add-on is completely optional.
GUI (optional)
This allows you to install a custom GUI. For BGT, the GUIs were created by Yacomo and Waywocket. The optional GUI is made available only after installation of BGT-WeiDU. Run Setup-GUI.exe and follow the prompts. This add-on is completely optional.

Are the GUI files and backgrounds saved somewhere? And how can they be changed? Is that something that anyone can do?

I thought the post-installation notes were clear enough.i think your explanation IS very useful for the users ... should it be pinned maybe?
No new GUIs are planned.Any new GUIs comming in the near future? I'm not a fan of any of the optional GUIs so I just use the main BG2 GUI which is almost perfect except it says BGII.
GUI graphics are MOS files and the interface is controlled by CHU files. Apart from that, I don't know much else about GUI editing. Are the GUI files and backgrounds saved somewhere? And how can they be changed? Is that something that anyone can do?

Is there a readme for setup-gui?

Edit: lol, nevermind! When I started it I thought there was going to be number of components. But it looks like it's just three different options for the artwork, and the same interface change for each, right?

It should be there. I checked in-game and in coding. Ensure that you are using the 'Full' component of BGTMusic.Speaking of music in BG1, one of the things that I always enjoyed in vanilla BG was the wonderful choral hymn in the temple of Helm in Nashkel. That particular piece of music for that location is missing in Tutu and BGT. I'm wondering, is there a mod that restores the music of BG1?
