Great effort overall and props for the work especially to the writers and the ladies who did good work on the female voices.

Unfortunately I'm looking for male voicesets; a lot of the male voicesets pale in quality to the female ones... especially the paladin sets, where the female sounds like a confident paladin but the male version with the same words sounds... like he just woke up and is rubbing the sleep from his eyes with a nice patsy smile on his face. Ironic that the male voicings seem to lack 'balls' compared to the ladies.

The psychotic male voiceset was interesting, as were the racial ones at least.

*sigh* My search will continue. :(

Lol. Oh ouch (looks down and then goes off in search of himself  ). *that was my attempt at humor*

Anyway what exactly are you looking for in male voicesets? specifically. Or, let me rephrase that, which archtype would you want to see first? lol 'All of them' isn't going to help me personally.

Like my voice acting colleguea says can you be slighty more specific "guest"? If you would like for us to improve quality you have to specify what it is that you lack in the voicesets of the males.
Does 'having balls' refer to more hard statements, louder attack sounds, or... well you name it

And don't worry Caelellowynn he hasn't critised your voice acting, you aren't in the pack... yet ;)

Still modding the Mod for the Wicked... It is a big project you know... And I got sidetracked (several times) a bit... sorry.

I always thought that more subdued voicesets were appropriate for bg1, where the protagonist is unsure of himself and starting out on his journey; by the time SOA comes around he's a very famous, capable, and quite dangerous person. I would think that the 'default' or standard voicesets should reflect a degree of confidence, even if it's shaken confidence by recent events of SOA, and strength. The male voicesets that weren't assassin-ish or demi human do not sound like that. Again, I'm not trying simply to be mean, but the way I described it more or less is what I hear.

I suppose it's not an easy balance, but a somewhat subdued tone that reflects quiet confidence or seriousness without being as energetic as the default voiceset1 in the vanilla game is what I have yet to find out there.

Voice acting is hard. Voice acting subtlety or quiet confidence or tentativeness is even harder. A good rule of thumb for VO is "There is no such thing as overacting."

Unfortunately, as many of us record in less-than-ideal environments, scenery-chewing causes clipping and echo and other nasty stuff we just don't have the technology to deal with, making it doubly challenging to "get it right." But it's still a good goal to shoot for.

You've got that right. I'm still new to the whole VO and its amazing to me the difference I find sometimes between what I think I'm putting across and what I actually hear in playback.

*Guest* Is this along the lines of what you were thinking? If you can, give me feedback on the voice itself and then also what is said. Just the writing can change what the voice conveys, or so I think. Anyway I have some time and am happy to try and work with you to see if I can find what you are looking for. Here's a couple of samples to work with.

I'd like to see soundsets appropriate for Gnomes and Halflings. They're difficult to find.

Look for the "grumpy" soundset in the next release, which makes for a good male of any short race, and the "perky" clips which make for a good female gnome or halfling.

It would be great to have a few more alternatives too for the G&Hs in time.

I wrote a halfling set for DSotSC. I tacked on some PC-only sounds, so I'll gladly donate the relevant clips to the PC Soundsets if someone wants to take a stab at it.
