I love that look of intensity! He might be just a tad too pretty for an adventuring party, though. Maybe this is in line with the type of character he is, but perhaps something could be done to make his appearance a little more rugged? A scar or tatoo?

I'm glad you like the look of him! Tattoos we aren't going to go for (probably) but we are going to scar him up. I just haven't gotten round to it yet

Can't remember for the death of me - who made the portrait? :) Loving the gaze under his eyebrows.

I did, a couple of months back. Glad you like it!

A snippet of a lovetalk: Faren wants to get to know Charname better, but Anomen is rather suspicious of his motives...

^_^ I like the jealousy, although staunch Ano-fans will probably be bothered that he looks all the more insufferably priggish next to Faren's easy-going attitude.

Something I saw that could be improved was that the PC only had a few responses. Perhaps, to make it more fair, you could give Charname the options to politely tell Anomen to mind his own business (in addition to the bossier-sounding "Go to bed, Ano.") and nicely refuse Faren's offer.

I understand that this is a work-in-progress, however, so I don't mean to assume that you did not already consider these things. :D Just offering my opinon.

No worries at all - opinions are always welcome! I agree, it's important to strike a balance between both NPCs behaving badly in a romance conflict - one of my pet dislikes is a conflict in which one of the romance interests comes across as ridiculously saintly compared to the other. Fear not, there are occasions where Faren doesn't behave particularly well during the conflict too. Thanks for the suggestion about PC responses, too.

:D

Me likey. I'm not too worried about Anomen's comments - although if they were all "Anomen's being a prig" I might be concerned. That said - I assume it is a jealousy talk/romance conflict? With a NG/LG Anomen (pre/passed test?)

Yep, this one's an LN/LG comment in the romance conflict - there's different dialogue if he's CN.

Ooh, I love him already. And he'll look even better after he's been roughed up a little. You girls are really spoiling us, what with Nathaniel and the Luxley boys and now Faren. To think, once I said that I was done and finished with BGII. Man, did I eat those words fast when all these great mods started coming out. Faren is now top of my anticipation list. Can't wait! ...but I will.

This one's part of a friendtalk (there is an equivalent romance talk that is a bit different): Faren shows his cautious side.

Very nice range of PC responses this time. I could easily imagine my character replying in one of these ways whether I was roleplaying a snooty mage or indifferent ranger.

The previews were definitely meant to be more frequent than this! Never mind, here's a little Faren and Yoshimo banter.

Yoshimo: ...let me tell you, the lady was not best pleased to find that her footman had been duplicitous.
Faren: Ha! So did he get hold of the dagger in the end?
Yoshimo: Well, most assumed that it vanished. However, if you were to dig a little you would find records of its sale to a certain antique-dealer named Yoshimo...
Faren: You rascal! That's brilliant. What did you do with it?
Yoshimo: Ah, now that would be telling, my friend.

I like it!  It sounds very natural, and Yoshimo's manner of speaking is right on.  Oh yay, another amazing mod to look forward to...

Cute portrait (love his hair and eyes) and nice preview dialogues. :) Faren is turning out to be an interesting npc.

Not sure if I should play him. He looks a lot like that Iraqi guy in "Lost", the one my wife thinks is rather sexy. I can't have taking over my game.

*Weakling Scipio back-peddles for fear of offending and adds his usual insipid comment*

Actually he does look like fun. I should take him along to distract Aerie.

*back-peddles even faster as his wife enters the office and reads over his shoulder*

But you only play Solitaire, darling!!!

I really like the previews so far. In fact, I'm holding out for a new playthrough until this mod is released. What I find attractive here is that Faren looks like a normal guy with an enjoyable personality. I'm not a big fan of NPC's that are weird for the sake of being weird. Faren seems to fit the setting nicely. I'm curious about his background.

Yes, I see what you mean. :D In my opinion that's a plus, though.

Hehe, don't worry - he's not a taking-over kind of person. :whistling:

Then hopefully you'll enjoy him - he's very much an everyday sort of person but is fun nonetheless (and he's not even stealth-weird like Andrei, Sebastian or Keto are...) and has quite a practical outlook in life. We may post more detailed previews about his background at a later point; watch this space!

edit: @Tarayani, KIrving - thank you, and hopefully you'll be able to enjoy him soon! (And major props to Feuille for the portrait!)
