The Chosen of Cyric Encounter is not triggering for me, twice now. At first I thought it was because of Saerileth (you get teleported out of the graveyard after defeating Bodhi IIRC), but then I got the same result in my next game without her in the party.

The Chosen of Cyric Encounter is not triggering for me, twice now. At first I thought it was because of Saerileth (you get teleported out of the graveyard after defeating Bodhi IIRC), but then I got the same result in my next game without her in the party.

The triggering of the CoC encounter was changed as of RR v3.8. You now need to actually walk to the edge of the Graveyard District and try to travel somewhere else via Worldmap in order to start the cutscene. Did you try that? Also, did you start a new game after installing RR v3.8x?

Anyway, if that doesn't work, you can trigger the encounter manually by typing the following into the console prompt: CLUAConsole:CreateCreature("RR#CTEST")

Heh, thanks. :) Feel free to post the details (or even a review) in the feedback thread.

Yes on both counts for my last games. I'm guessing I have a mod incompatibility somewhere, because I didn't get to see Arledrian's encounter in the crypts either.

Thanks, I'll give that a try and let you know how it went.

Hmm, that's odd. Is your game difficulty set to "Novice" (easiest) per chance? The CoC encounter doesn't trigger at all in that case. As for Arledrian's quest, that can only be triggered if you side with the Shadow Thieves in Chapter 2.

Anyway, could you e-mail me the Autosave which was made right before leaving Bodhi's crypt and entering the upper graveyard area? You can find the address at the bottom of the Rogue Rebalancing readme.

Nope. The first time it was on Core, the second one I toned it down for the vampire hunters encounter so that Valen would turn to mist when low on health, but I turned it back up right after it. About Arledrian, that explains it, since I went with the Radiant Heart (Saerileth) and Bodhi my last games.

E-mail sent. Thanks.

Happy New Year, BTW.

Got it, but for a complete analysis, I need the entire contents of your savegame folder, not just BALDUR.SAV. You could simply zip up your "000000000-Auto-Save" folder and send that to me, provided that the last autosave was made right before exiting Bodhi's crypt. Also, a copy of AR0800.BCS from your override folder would help as well.

Happy New Year, BTW.

To you as well. :)

D'oh, feared as much. Will resend.

Tough battle. Doing a quick glance at their loot, I fear I'll never use the pacific resolution.

I've found the culprit by examining your AR0800.BCS. There's an odd bug from the unmodded game in that file which causes a misplaced script block (the one related to Garrick's romantic interlude with Lady Irlana) to prevent any blocks placed below it from running under certain conditions. Since the G3 BG2 Fixpack already takes care of this I didn't bother including the fix into Rogue Rebalancing, but I'll do that as of the next revision for the people who are still using Baldurdash. Since this is not a compatibility problem I'm going to move these posts into a separate thread.

Glad you enjoyed it. :) BTW, you can find many useful tips for resolving the encounter in different ways and having an easier time during combat in the CoC readme.

Interestingly enough, I have had the RR mod installed for a while and never, ever actually experienced the CoC encounter.

According to your WeiDU.log you are not using the recommended G3 BG2 Fixpack. As noted above, the Chosen of Cyric encounter can not start unless a critical bug in AR0800.BCS is fixed. Baldurdash doesn't fix that, and I wasn't aware of this issue until recently, so the G3 fix will be mirrored and included as of the upcoming RR v3.9. In the meantime, you can use this console command to start the encounter manually after defeating Bodhi in Chapter 6:

CLUAConsole:CreateCreature("RR#CTEST")

Instead, I get this real mix-up with Cromwell. Any suggestions on how to fix this? Attaching screen shot and WeiDu. Thanks!

The mixed up dialogue lines are usually a consequence of using an old save game after changing the mod install order. I'm afraid that doing a clean install and starting a new game is the only solution here.

Sorry. Wrong WeiDU. Have a clean install on another harddrive and same problem happens.

The mixed up dialogue lines are usually a consequence of using an old save game after changing the mod install order. I'm afraid that doing a clean install and starting a new game is the only solution here.

Yeah, someone told me that before and that was the reason for doing an install on a different harddrive. I even put the second one in somewhat alphabetical order. Still getting the issue.

Also, just as an aside, there are some spelling mistakes you might want to look at. :)

Can't say for sure since you have the same problem on both installs, but looking at that log, you have a few mods installed in a way other than the recommended order.

Unfinished Business should be installed before RR, and Ashes of Embers (though untested) should go after it.

aVENGER will tell better when he comes.

I doubt that is the problem because RR is not affecting either one of those mods. It is affecting Item Upgrades, which can be installed either before or after RR

Sorry. Wrong WeiDU. Have a clean install on another harddrive and same problem happens.

Hmm, that's odd, though I'm not sure if we understand each other here. :) A clean install also means not using any of your old save games and not importing any of your previous characters. You have to start a new game and roll up a new character from scratch. I'm not sure whether you were still using an old save on your new install, but if you did, the dialogue problems would surely occur once again because the corrupted string references are still stored inside that savegame. BTW, you can find a bunch of useful guidelines for building and maintaining a clean install in this thread on PPG.

I even put the second one in somewhat alphabetical order.

Heh, I'm afraid that won't help much. :D For the recommended install order regarding Rogue Rebalancing, check out my compatibility guide. Also, I'd suggest replacing Ease of Use with G3 BG2 Tweaks as that mod contains all of the EoU tweaks and is written in modern WeiDU code which guarantees better compatibility.

Still getting the issue.

The weird thing is, Rogue Rebalancing doesn't make any changes whatsoever to Cromwel's dialogue. This is why I'm certain that your problem is caused by a corrupted savegame. ;)

Also, just as an aside, there are some spelling mistakes you might want to look at.

Just point me to the typos and I'll gladly correct them. :) You can post the misspelled lines in the translation thread.

Nope, I understand you well enough. I started a whole new game, cheated in a couple of items just to check, ran over to Crom and the same problem popped up.

Yeah, I checked that too. Problem is, as I mentioned before, the mod being affected is one that can be installed at any time according to your guide.

I am not using a previously saved game, so I am certain that that is not the problem. I am using a totally clean install that I spent over an hour installing. There is something in RR that is crossing over into Item Upgrades.

Just point me to the typos and I'll gladly correct them. :) You can post the misspelled lines in the translation thread.

Will do

EDIT: IN an effort to show you that I am not using a previously saved game, here are two screenshots. One from the first game without G3 Fixpack and the most recent.

How peculiar... I'll definitively look into this, though I really have no idea how it could happen. As noted above, RR doesn't touch Cromwel's dialogue at all. Very odd.

The thing is, I've seen many WeiDU logs which had Item Upgrade installed both before and after RR but no one reported this problem before. Still, it definitively needs checking.

Yup, the lines which display there are definitively from my Chosen of Cyric encounter, though why they'd end up at Cromwel's dialogue I have no idea. Anyway, I'll do some testing when I get back from work and let you know as soon as I find anything. :) BTW, which version of Item Upgrade and which version of RR are you using? Also, did you per chance have an editing utility such as Shadow Keeper and/or Infinity Explorer running while installing the mods?

 You are telling me!! I just sorta have been dealing with the issue for months now, ever since I first installed RR. I never even realized that there was actually an encounter with the Chosen of Cyric!

The thing is, I've seen many WeiDU logs which had Item Upgrade installed both before and after RR but no one reported this problem before. Still, it definitively needs checking.

Fabulous! Strangely enough, I have never used the G3 Fixpack and never had a problem not using it. It wasn't until I installed RR that I had a problem. (No offense)

No, I do not have Shadow Keepper installed and have not used IE in a while. What I did was place my saved games aside because I am mod testing, uninstalled everything from last mod to first, uninstalled the game, reinstalled the game, reinstalled the patch, fixpack and the mods and started a new game. After I cheated in the parts for the Equalizer sword, I went to Cromwell and here was the result. Before installing the mods, I went and downloaded every updated version for all the mods I installed, so I have RR v3.82 and Item Upgrade v35. For some reason, RR is overwriting IU, but for the life of me I cannot figure out why.

Ok, I just did some compatibility checks. For my first test, I restored a clean install of BG2, added the G3 BG2 Fixpack, followed by Rogue Rebalancing and Item Upgrade in that order. I started a new game, teleported my PC to AR0334, added 100000 gold to him and then CLUA-ed in the Boots of Speed, the Boots of Stealth and a Rogue Stone which allowed Cromwell to sucesfully craft the Boots of Celeritous Stealth. No issues so far. I then spawned Blackblood and Gnasher and successfully crafted Pitchwife +5. Once again, all of Cromwel's dialogue options displayed normally for me. I then changed the install order by putting Item Upgrade before Rogue Rebalancing and repeated the abovementioned test. The results were exactly same - no dialogue oddities this time either. As it seems, I am unable to reproduce the bug on my local install.

For some reason, RR is overwriting IU, but for the life of me I cannot figure out why.

Have you tried completely uninstalling Rogue Rebalancing and then repeating your tests? If Cromwell's dialogue is still messed up even after that, then something else is causing the issues which you experienced.

BTW, I just noticed an odd thing - the typos which can be seen in your screenshots (i.e. Attampt) have been corrected way back in RR v3.5. Are you sure that those screenshots were taken while you were using RR v3.82? I double checked and there is definitively no such spelling mistake in its TRA file.

Well that is not cool

Actually, I did that the very first time that I encountered the problem and it cleaned up just fine.

I swear to you that I am using the most recent version. I specifically went online yesterday and spent an hour updating all of the mods I had installed because I thought that might be the problem. I had 5 outdated mods, including RR and so I updated all of them just to be sure. (I actually printed my WeiDU file so I could be certain I had the same files with the same options installed) This is just reeeeaaally weird!

Mixed up lines can be caused by any mod in the install, because it's a symptom of a screwed up dialog.tlk. That it happens to be displaying RR lines doesn't mean RR has anything to do with it.

That you've got an deprecated mod and a couple of mods that conflict with one another probably isn't helping much either (unless you're using the posted workarounds).

I understand what you are saying, but the problem disappears when I get rid of RR. It did not show up till I started using RR. So, I concluded that it had to be something in RR
