The download done disappeared with a big fancy "We could not find the file specified." Do you mind resubmitting it, or would you rather finish the next version first?

Since I upgraded to version 2, I felt it needed more support than a download link. The mod is now hosted at CoM.

Have a link.

Thanks for the interest! :D

No flaming, please. If you have a problem, presenting it in a more constructive manner will go a long way.

Cause everyone knows that Fade, Nathaniel, The Luxley Brothers, and Saerileth, did not originally come from CoM.

Every site offers a mix of mods, some a gamer might enjoy, others that he or she might not. Naturally, no one is under any obligation to download unwanted mods.

Applying for hosting at CoM was a conscious decision, and I didn't apply anywhere else for hosting for this mod. Even with the new content, Homeward Bound is still a small mod, so it isn't going to change the world, no matter where it finds a home, but I felt that, given its nature as a fun non-immersion-breaking tweak mod for Throne of Bhaal, it would be a mutually beneficial arrangement.

Regarding my personal opinions, FWIW, I detest politics, and believe firmly that the IE community would be better off without the partisan bickering that seems to plague it. I refuse to be drawn into that cycle of negativity.

So, my good guest poster, if you want to mire yourself down with the baggage of prejudice and old grudges, there's nothing I can do to stop you, but it won't make you any happier.

Thanks, Rabain, for providing the link to that old gem!

A bunch of cliches spring unbidden to my fingers.

"There's nothing new under the sun." Yeah, I know. I've been bugged about the NPCs (and Cespenar!) standing around the Pocket Plane cooling their heels while I'm off having fun (relatively speaking) for ages, and I know that other players have commented on the same thing. It hardly surprises me that somebody else had the idea first!

"Great minds think alike." If writing this mod puts me on the same brainwave as folks like the Grim Squeaker and Andyr, I couldn't be more flattered!

"There's always room for improvement." Version 3, which will also be hosted at CoM, if they'll have it, will feature a new fate for Cespenar. He's too cool to die just because his little world implodes.

So thanks for the link!

berelinde, is this mod compatible with Level One NPCs? There's a post over at G3 that talks about compatibility, and also about the Fate Spirit dialogue:

http://forums.gibber...s...st&p=111397

Since Level One NPCs appears to have stopped being developed, if we install Homeward Bound after hat mod, could Homeward Bound alter the Fate Spirit dialogue with regards to NPC classes for us? And although you're allowing NPC authors to add Homeward Bound compatibility to their mods, what about mods like Kelsey that aren't going to be updated?

Does anyone have a download link? I was hoping to find it here but it's not there as far as I can see: downloads.chosenofmystra.net/bg2/

(This sounds like a bot post..)

It's there: http://downloads.cho...ardbound-v7.rar

File sorting is Linux-based (case-sensitive), so it can be easily overlooked.

*polishes glasses* Great, thank you! Indeed, I have no experience with lists sorted like this and missed it.

I'll add the direct link to the first post of this thread.

Well just got a total freeze of the game when arriving in Brinnlaw, spellhold's island. I traced this to this mod, uninstalling fixes it. By chance it was one of the last things I installed, so it shouldn't break anything in my save, at least nothing major. I had installed this speicifcally to be able to send the party member who is replaced by Imoen back... it was for role play reasons only, I'll do without it. So be careful if installing this in a modern ee game then.

@zelurker

1. Which version did you use? Version 7, 8 or other? Downloaded from?

1. What language did you use when installing the mod?

Is v8 the one updated by Deratiseur here? Or has there been a separate update somewhere?

And if so, would someone knowledgeable in these matters be so kind as to advise me whether I should install it in the BG2 portion of an EET install as it is or try and run the EET converter tool? It doesn't seem to contain chapter variable checks, so basic compatibility seems likely to me (as Gwendolyne stated in that Beamdog thread). I realise it might not be the most stable option, but I wouldn't want to leave that well-beloved mod behind, and anyway it seems that someone needs to try whether it works on EET or not anyway.

That v8 can't handle the EET Fate Spirit. Come to think of it, I'm not even sure how could the two can be made compatible suddenly.

Such a shame! I really love Homeward Bound's feature of displaying the additional epilogues of the companions you sent home... Why do you think it would be incompatible with the EET Fate Spirit? EET only affects the summoning, right? And HB only the sending back?

Yes, but EET_End regenerates the dialogue tree to include all the mod-added NPCs for the Fate Spirit (including BG1 ones even) and it has some fairly static assumptions on how the tree looks by then which I think HB's patching breaks. You can try and check if the dialogue tree is functional, but on my review, I wasn't convinced.
