I have yet to go to Nashkel mines and all of my characters are nearing level 6. This seems fast, 10 years ago(ish) it took like a whole chapter to level in BG1, what changes to levelling are made in a mega install with BGT? Just curious because I have maybe 14 hours time and I am already nearing the top BG1 levels.

If you have alot of mods installed, especially new quests and difficulty enhancing mods, you will encounter a lot more enemies that will yield you quite a bit exp.
Also, how much exp do you get for disarming traps, leaning spells, unlocking, etc..?
You might want to use the BP Balancer mod and remove exp for those things entirely (that's what I did and it kept me around the 'regular' BG1 levels)

I mostly bash locks and dont have a mage atm, (i know i know lol) going to restart with PC as a sorc, or an evil cleric warlock kit, CG is my usual alignment but warlocks sound cool, and ive never done an evil party

Hrm if that's the case, I'm at a loss at what to tell you.
Have you been wandering up and down the swordcoast areas? Because you will gain a fair amount of exp in those and there are some mod quests that I know which are in those areas.
If you've really been doing all the non mainquest related areas, then level 5-6 doesn't seem too unreasonable to me.

Is there a site where I can see the world map with all the areas revealed so I know I am not missing something?

Dudleyville.com should help you out. It also gives information on what quests, enemies, and items are in each area. Very useful.

You can install Ding0 Experience Fixer (DefJam) and use the suggested values for a large install. Ideally, it should be installed before starting a new game, but can be safely installed in an existing game.
