I'm no programmer and I haven't got the slightest idea what the heck to do with it. Hope you can help. Tnx.
I'm having this exact same problem with the directdraw fix - what am I doing wrong?

For fixing BG1, IWD1 (without HoW), IWD2 and PST you can install this fixer utility (programmed by Eddy, WeiDUed by me):
If you use this fixer utility, don't forget to remove the application profile in the Compatibility Manager (if you're using it, remove the profile like this: start -> programs -> Microsoft Application Compatility Toolkit -> Compatibility Administrator -> Installed Database -> right click and remove on the item you created) or stop using the .vbs launcher.

Realized I needed to run the fix with Admin Priv, but now I'm getting the same error as posted by WDeranged.

That sounds like it's not the video card at all, but something else entirely. Like an Ambient sound missing and as the game tries to start the missing sound file again, again and again, with gives you the lag. To fix that, open the torment.ini with Notepad and edit the "Environmental Audio" to zero and save, or use the Config.exe to get rid of the sounds, this will remove also the stepping sounds etc. but that can't be avoided.Otherwise, the performance is great even with software mirroring turned on. But as soon as I touch something, it all goes to hell.
