BGT 1.05a install problem

well my problem is rather simple to understand but i find it pretty strange. I uninstalled the BGT 1.04 to install the 1.05a. When it ask me to "Enter the full path to your Baldur's Gate Installation"... witch i entered correctly, and when i install BGT 1.04 again, it work just fine. Minor issue but... i can't understand what's wrong

Are you saying that v1.05a doesn't recognise your BG directory, whereas v1.04 does? If so, then your BG:TotSC installation is not complete. Check that you have a full custom install of BG and TotSC with all tickboxes checked, and patched to 5512. I think there was a previous report of some files not being copied over during a BG:TotSC installation because of scratched CDs. You might also want to check whether you also have this problem.Hi there,

I also tryied what you suggested Altomar, but i didn't really get what to do after looking at the presetup file since it say that it cannot find the following file:
C:\Program Files\Black Isle\BGII - SOA\BGT\Install\BGT\Language\Presetup\ 003.txt
So... i guess it can be either reason i cannot install 1.05, but i don't get why it wouldn't install the 1.05 because of a missing file(area001B.bif) since the 1.04 is installing without a problem.

I'm patched to 5512 and my BG/ToTSC are fully installed but i think i got a file missing because of one of my CD(area001B.bif).

no no, don't open it with double click. right click on it then edit it.
if you double click on it(left click) then you get the message for missing 003.txt

Well, BGT will only check for the presence of files, and not the integrity. So, hopefully, when you made the copy, the integrity of the damaged files didn't get compromised. Otherwise, you might find that BGT will crash when its trying to load a corrupted file imported from BG1. Fingers crossed.I finally managed to solve my problem, even if i didn't think this way would work. There was 1 or 2 missing file that i tryied to copy from my CD 5, but it didn't worked. The CD was damaged so i tought that making a copy of it wouldn't work because the files could be damaged for good, but after reinstalling using this new copy, it worked just fine. Thanks for the answers.

I've had the same problem with BGT not recognizing my BG install path. I have it fully installed in C:\BiG World\Black Isle\Baldur's Gate however I get the following error cycling continuously:
Enter the full path to your Baldur's Gate installation
then press Enter.

incorrect Baldur's Gate installation.
It is safe to abort this installation by closing this window, or

I'm not prompted to enter my install path, it keeps checking the incorrect one. I checked all my files, they are all there (none missing). Is this a problem with BGT or BiG World? The install path on the BiG World setup is correct.
Should i simply copy my BG1 install to the path that BGT is searching?

Otherwise, try running Setup-BGT.exe from a console (cmd).
