ok, so overall if i want Dakkon's Blade automatically upgrades at certain levels I should paste attached .baf files to TS\baf\ before TS-BP installation and attached .itm files (or .itm from TS-BP) to the \itm directory of BP before installation. After this there will be working Dakkon upgrade and normal item names and descriptions?

don't use WeiDU 202 if you want to install Ice Island Level Two Restoration

Is there a way to fix this in BG1UB? What is the best WeiDU version to install all mods?

Well i tried to built up my megamod like in the pdf guide. But it ended up a crash to desktop. I can use SCS component:
~SETUP-SCS.TP2~ #0 #70 // Allow player to choose NPC proficiencies and skills
and BGt tweaks v5:
~BG2_TWEAKS/SETUP-BG2_TWEAKS.TP2~ #0 #4020 // ToB-Style NPCs
For example:when i met Jaheria i can choose her skills and have higher score of Dex. I has a "usefull" bug effect: after I choose Imoen skills she has 28 hp as a level 1 thief. My question is can this cause the CtD.

Aramyr, perhaps you should hold-off on a BiG World install, and go with a Mega-Install. Your call, of course, but don't you want to actually play the game?

Don't install "Minor Dialogue Restorations" from BG1 Unfinished Business at the moment as it will break Jaheira in BG2. Moreover don't use WeiDU 202 if you want to install Ice Island Level Two Restoration.

This warning is already obsolete.

The new UB for BGT version 4 Beta 4 addresses the Minor Dialogue Restorations bug and it comes with WeiDu 202.

The bug reported about WeiDu failing to install Ice Island Level Two Restoration is worked around because the new version no longer uses the TuTu_area_assign.tph file.

Also this is not clear to me:

DO NOT install the TOSC DirectX 8+ Patch!

Can any one tell me why the official patch for multiplayer gaming should not be installed?

More:

5.3. Restored Textscreen Music v 6
~PROLOGUE/PROLOGUE.TP2
This small modification simply restores, and makes more consistent with the text, the music that is
heard during the prologue textscreen in Baldur's Gate.

The part in bold is not completely correct because this Mod will restore also the dreams' music and not only the prologue's.

Got two questions about Big World Project tutorial:

1. Why I shouldn't install main component "Ascension v1.41 (ToB)"? I though that it's necessary for other minor components from Ascension.

2. You say that "Creature XP Reduction" component from DEFJAM is not compatible with BP, becouse BP has it's own rule system. It means that xp reduction will not work if BP is installed? In my own mega installation I haven't got problems with creature xp reduction. Can anyone confirm this?

Thanks for this project!

That was already adressed in another post. It is an error in the pdf. When you come to the point where you should install Abazigal and the rest of Ascension, the latter should of course be installed.

Found a problem with Teleport and MID_BIFF:

Teleport tries to detect if bcs-files are already present in the override folder. If they are it simply makes an EXTEND_TOP to those files, if not it copies its own bcs-files into the override folder. In the current installation order MID_BIFF biffs the override folder thus moving almost every file into a bif-file. That causes Teleport.tp2 to assume that it can copy its bcs-files into the override folder. With the end result that all changes made to the files that Teleport "overwrites" in this way before MID_BIFF will be reversed.

In another thread it has been proposed that only the wav-files should be biffed as they are the main reason for a bloated override folder. And if that is done at the end of an installation no problems should occur.

A fix/workaround for install problems with D0t-questpack [Creature & Area Improvements] and SCSII:

copy all wand*.itm and staf*.itm files from CtB\over.bak into your override folder.

Of course no ... maybe in a future with dreams ... ;-) I do have to face so many bugs with only a dozen of mods installed, u can guess the mess with hundreds ... !

then i guess I'm going to find out pretty soon if the dreams can come true :) because after 2 weeks installing almost every day bgt with all big mods and many smaller i finally finish my installation. i hope that every bug/conflict/etc... can be repaired while playing the game without to have to start again from the beginning.

I believe with a good install this is playable and finishable. In no way am I saying that there will be no bugs. Some bugs are avoidable or don't keep you from playing on. What m_m75 is talking about is a bug free game, and he is right, there will be bugs, hopefully fixable.

I believe we refer to this locally as a pipe dream. But seriously, Chev is right - if nothing else, this is a good stress-test of inter-mod compatibility. As the people using this procedure uncover bugs, they can report them to the mod maintainers and hopefully they can fix them as needed. Of course, some modders may be unavailable or unwilling to fix things (due either to stubbornness or "conceptual incompatibilities" or the fact they're long gone) but that doesn't mean you all can't come up with an order that works and is relatively stable (but yes, it will take more work).

Of course, as others have stated previously in this thread many times, this mega-mod install is not for the inexperienced or faint-at-heart (frankly, I wouldn't even attempt it... I leave you all to iron out the bugs before I do :D).

As a player, u have to face something when u play mods. U need sometime to find an arrengement. For example, in your game u won't be able to play the DEEPER part of the Unseeing Eye quest, u just can kill him the forst time u meet in the dungeon. U cannot proceed joining the cult. U cannot solve or avoid it so far (i tried everything), so maybe in your game u need to arrange something more. Hopefully u just need some CLUAConsole works :-)

I would several months of hard work with several times of a rude awakening not call a pipe dream. Until now, no serious bug is reported.
Most problems arise from faulty files in some older mods or from contradictory tweaks. We should be able to eliminate these problems by cumulate all fixed files for this megamod in a separate mod. Thus we can do it also without modder's help (although it would be much harder)

@Salk

DO NOT install the TOSC DirectX 8+ Patch!

This is only for a multiplayer game with BG1. Because we play with the BG2 engine, we don't need it. Someone had reported problems by installing it unnecessarily.
