SCS+Tactics I:
%NNS% => SET NNS=IF NOT EXIST BWP_No_SCS_AI.
So things only get installed if scs will not be installed.

SCS+Tactics II:
There are a lot of components that don't get installed because they look out for conflicts theirselves.
Here's what's left from tactics, which is less than "called":
~SETUP-TACTICS.TP2~ #0 #3 // Improved Sahuagin City: v25; Lol's Update to v26
~SETUP-TACTICS.TP2~ #0 #22 // Smarter Dragons in SoA: v25; Lol's Update to v26
~SETUP-TACTICS.TP2~ #0 #26 // Fighter-Class Archer Kit: v25; Lol's Update to v26
~SETUP-TACTICS.TP2~ #0 #27 // Anti-Paladin Kit: v25; Lol's Update to v26
~SETUP-TACTICS.TP2~ #0 #32 // Mike Barnes' Improved North Forest: v25; Lol's Update to v26
~SETUP-TACTICS.TP2~ #0 #33 // Mike Barnes' Marching Mountains: v25; Lol's Update to v26
~SETUP-TACTICS.TP2~ #0 #34 // Slightly Tougher Demons: v25; Lol's Update to v26
~SETUP-TACTICS.TP2~ #0 #37 // Streamlined Trolls: v25; Lol's Update to v26

Reread the sentence: %NNS% = So things only get installed if scs will be installed. BWP was trying to install those on my machine although I have SCS selected. Or maybe I just need a bit more sleep...

D0Questpack numbers:
The tp2 from D0Questpack is heavily patched by the BiG World Fixpack.
If you ran that, you'd come up with some different (corrected) numbers.

Crap... that's the only mod I added because I forgot to add it. As I didn't find any folder named D0Questpack in BiG World Fixpack, I though it would not be patched. Only installed OasisII though.

BP + Rule 50:
Most likely BP is left out because it takes care of business itself (as with tactics/scs):

FORBID_FILE ~data/ROT-RULE.bif~ ~You have ROT installed, so you already have this~
FORBID_FILE ~data/TDD-RULE.bif~ ~You have TDD installed, so you already have this~

I don't think I understand you. This is about BG2_Tweaks and whether it should install some components or not that are inconsistent with BP rule system. If I leave
%IFNS%TDD.exe Call %INST% BG2_Tweaks "2240 2250 2260"
%IFNS%TDD%IFNIF%Divine_Remix.exe Call %INST% BG2_Tweaks "2280 2290"
as it is, it will install those BG2_Tweaks components on top of the BP rule system. Am I correct?

On the other side I wonder which one I should install. I can't find any info on BP rule system, and I am not using any megamods. I am simply using it because BWP doesn't include Ascension, only BP-Ascension.

SCS:
Upsi, yes, when rereading the "no no", I realized you were right.
Thanks for the hint.

Level 50:
Ok, yeah, right again, but ROT and TDD come first, then BP and BG2_Tweaks.
BP will not get installed at its time if others are installed, and when it comes to BG2_Tweaks, it has
REQUIRE_PREDICATE NOT FILE_EXISTS_IN_GAME ~bpduearc.spl~ @16 // non-BP
REQUIRE_PREDICATE NOT FILE_EXISTS ~data/rot-rule.bif~ @16 // non-RoT
REQUIRE_PREDICATE NOT FILE_EXISTS ~data/tdd-rule.bif~ @16 // non-TDD
So it won't get installed either.

aTweaks has also some inconsistent numbers (and Fixpack was run):

Call %INST% aTweaks "100 101 102 103 110 115 120 125 130 140 150 200 201 202 203 204 205 210 212 216 220 230 261 323 301 302 303 304 310 500 600"

155 156 = should be added (not available in manual)
should be 324, and not 323 according to the manual
600 should be 510

Catch the old release that was current while the guide was made and you'll see that is was consistent back then. Will need to be updated nevertheless.

No problem. I'll continue adding here some stuff I think might be adjusted for the next versions:

Call %INST% ItemUpgrade "0 1"

Components 10 and 11 also seem to be missing:

~SETUP-ITEMUPGRADE.TP2~ #0 #10 // Shadows Of Amn Item Upgrades -> Revised consistency plus version: v38
~SETUP-ITEMUPGRADE.TP2~ #0 #11 // Throne Of Bhaal Item Upgrades -> Revised consistency plus version: v38

Think I was a bit too quick on this one... there seem to be some problem with it, or it is patched allready. Weidu reports only 0 & 1 installed (although I selected 10 and 11), and there is this post: http://forums.pocket...p?topic=27541.0

Anyhow, some info on it in the manual would be nice.

SCS and SCSII have some new (?) components which are not in the manual nor in the batch file.

SCSII has more of them than SCS.

Example of new SCS component:
~SETUP-SCS.TP2~ #4 #3110 // More realistic wolves and wild dogsS: v17
Example of new SCSII components:
~SCSII/SETUP-SCSII.TP2~ #4 #2150 // Make spell sequencers, spell triggers, and contingencies learnable by all mages: v17
~SCSII/SETUP-SCSII.TP2~ #4 #2160 // Add an extra copy of some hard-to-find spell scrolls: v17
~SCSII/SETUP-SCSII.TP2~ #4 #2170 // True Sight/True Seeing spells protect from magical blindness: v17
etc...

I also wonder why BGT-NPCSound mod is omitted in BWP. The difference in volume between the BG and BG2 main-char-voices is clear (i.e. I assume it also adjusts the main-char-soundset-volume).

SCS I & II are new.
BGT-NPCSound is only used in German installations...

Why only? As far as I can see, it's language-independent.

Here is an adjusted install.bat file I used to install BWP manualy in French. Each time "BiG World Install.bat" requests an component install, the language and component numbers are shown, so the user can adjust them.

For adjustments, it uses a DOS utility which you can find here.

To make it work, you put it in the "BiG World Installpack" directory, and adjust "BiG World Install.bat" to use it:

::SET INST="%BWIP%\Install.bat"
SET INST="%BWIP%\Install_q.bat"

Maybe someone finds it usefull...

That's a nice little tool.

Some minor things I'd do:

I'd use %TRA% to get the components description in the language you selected.
If you don't understand the output from language 0, you still need to get the components descriptions.

I'd also use the -n switch to enforce numeric input, maybe in both cases if spaces are allowed.

If no language is selected and you press <ctrl-c> the installation gets aborted.
If you do the same with components, it still installs.

To get rid of that inconsistency, I'd suggest to either use a line with
IF "%errorlevel%" == "4" exit
to interrupt the BWP batch or copy and paste the solution from the language-selection
IF "%errorlevel%" == "4" (
echo Skipping %1: No component selected: aborting
	pause
	exit /b 0
)
to interrupt the installation of the setup/component.
THINK! - It's not illegal.

Quick question...

The the install .bat file, after I choose my version selection (standard, tactic... so on)... I get a message below saying "System cannot find the batch labeled specified - KITSELEC..."

I tried to look around for documentation... but failed.

What is it?

The installation goes along file... but it still irks me. Any ideas?

It's a file the BiG World Setup put's into you game folder... it probably has something to do with your Kit selection.

That's already discussed/reported here.
You have to edit the batch-file a little bit with the text-editor of your choice.
Please note that it kind of lowers your options when debugging the game.

Hello.

I would like to know if the BWP files need to be in a particular folder ? I don't think but I have a problem and can't understand why.

During the installation, the BiG World Install.bat can't found two files : the 25movies.bif, and the BG2-ToBPatchReadMe.txt (it says the patch is not installed, and yet it is). However, I don't have the GOG version and the files are here.

The 25movies.bif is here : C:\BWP\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\CD5\movies

And the BG2-ToBPatchReadMe.txt is here : C:\BWP\Black Isle\BGII - SoA

I searched and found some people who had the same problem, but for them the problem was they had the GOG version, and the files were not where it was supposed to be. So all the answers I found was to create folders and files. In my situation the files are here, but the BWP can't find them.

Is there someone who can help me ? It would be really helpful. Thanks.

(P.S. : I'm not english, so... Sorry for my bad english. ^^)

All BWP files must be extracted in game root, so in your case C:\BWP\Black Isle\BGII - SoA
