I'm having trouble installing BP after revised battles, an error appears and main BP part cannot be installed, however if you install BP first and then revised battles all is well.

You can also use the Resource Fixer mentioned here before BP. I'm not sure deleting files from the override is an optimal method.

SpellPackB4 cannot be installed before bg2fixpack because it causes a critical error when installing bg2fixpack core component, same goes for ADpack ( some spl something file )

It is possible, and here's how.

Thanks, I'll try that out on my next install

Ok, here's the requested info. The baldur.err file added this after the crash:

---------------------Start Logging Session---------------------

ASSERTION FAILED!
File: CTiledObject.cpp
Line: 179

Exp: FALSE

Msg: Tiled object resref not found
Run Debugger?

The BiG World Debug file is zipped and attached. If it helps, the crash isn't a CtD. At about the 10-15% mark on loading after character generation, I get the windows error beep and the game just freezes. I have to tab out and close the program manually.

It's probably high time we closed this hard-to-follow 37-page thread and used subtopics, instead:
BWP Improvements (maybe this should be Bug Reports and Fixes)
BWP Mod Results maybe this should be Installation Order or something, to distinguish it from:
BWP Mods and Components including suggestions to add/drop mods

And maybe it's time to look into getting a subforum here too. There are plenty of "mega mod" topics here that do not follow the BWP methodology (which is fine, but not really related).

Thanks for your help and advice. Here we use the following threads for the following topics, now.

We use this thread furthermore for general BWP questions, criticism and for upcoming news.
BWP Improvements Only for Fixes and the discussion about it.
BWP Mod Results For Installation Order and including suggestions to add/drop mods.

If someone has a problem with the megamod, he should open a new topic with the described problem in it, so we can help the gamer with the problem better and easier.

Greetings Leomar

@TinCow
Installing [Restored Textscreen Music for BG1TuTu, EasyTutu, and BGT-WeiDU]
Copying and patching 1 file ...
ERROR: cannot convert %strref_1% or %%strref_1%% to an integer
ERROR: [string.txt] -> [TxtMusic/string.txt] Patching Failed (COPY) (Not_found)
Stopping installation because of error.
Since the installation of the Restored Textscreen Music failed, I suspect something went wrong with your BGT install.
Do you have the file BG1ARE.bif in the data directory?

@Leomar
I hope you don't mind, if we handle the problem of TinCow in this thread. (Or maybe a moderator can split the relevant posts into a new topic.)

There are exceptions over and over again, like in the German forum. :D
I do not think that will disturb somebody, so go on and everytime thanks for your help.

Don't take my word in this case, but this could imply some file got corrupted or damaged during download/install proccess and as such wouldn't really be a true bug.

Somebody could locate the resource and send you a working copy of it, my knowledge fails in these aspects though

That's possible. I found several corrupted downloads while unpacking and fixed them with fresh downloads, but I may have missed some. The reluctance of the various modders to allow a single download pack is definitely the Achilles heel of this project.

No, there is no file with that name in the data directory.

Then your installation of BGT has failed somehow. (This is also confirmed by the message from the error log.)

Unfortunately, you'll have to reinstall the BWP.
Try starting BG1 and see if there is anything wrong with it.

Reinstalling isn't a big deal. It's what I expected to have to do anyway and had already started on it. The main reason I posted was to simply help in the debugging process, since I'm probably one of the more typical players you'll encounter who downloads mods but never participates in any forums. In any case, I'm in no hurry. Anyone who is still playing BG after this many years has the patience to get this done properly.

I appreciate the help from everyone. I'll check on BG1 this evening when I get home.

Alright, this got a little more interesting.  I tried running BG1 and got an error before the game even started, even before the Black Isle video plays.  So, I figured it was a corrupted BG1 installation.  I uninstalled BG1 and installed a fresh copy.  I then tested it by making a character and starting up a game, which worked just fine.  With BG1 working, I then restarted the BWP installation into a fresh BG2 install folder.  I noticed after the BGT section that there was still no BG1ARE.bif file in the data directory, but I figured I would let it finish just in case.  After the entire thing finished, I tested BG2 and encountered the same problem as before.  Now, here's the interesting part: I then went and checked BG1 and it is now corrupted and will not start, just like I found it after my first installation attempt.

My initial thought was that this has something to do with the fact that I'm installing BG1 on D: when the default is C:.  However, I gave the BWP install the proper folder address.  Plus, the BWP install process clearly corrupted the BG1 installation, so it must have found the thing.  This is the error I now get when trying to start up BG1:

An Assertion failed in D:\Dev\chitin\ChDimm.cpp at line number 581
Programmer says: Unable to Open BIF:data\SFXSound.bif

For the record, BG1 is installed at: D:\Program Files\Black Isle\Baldur's Gate

Any ideas what's going on here?

Cannot access file D:\Program Files\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\BGT\Language\PreSetup3.txt
Cannot access file D:\Program Files\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\BGT\Language\PreSetup5.txt
These lines indicate that BGT somehow failed to pass the Language to his scripts.
Do you have the file BGT\Language.txt in your BG2 game directory? (after your installation)
If so, what are its contents?

Sorry for double posting, but there is a bug in the forums software, that modified my original post and also prevents me from editing it.

The code lines should read
Cannot access file D:/Program Files/Black Isle/BGII - SoA/BGT/Language/PreSetup/003.txt
Cannot access file D:/Program Files/Black Isle/BGII - SoA/BGT/Language/PreSetup/005.txt
with slashes replaces by backslashes.

There is no language.txt inside the BGT folder, but the BGT folder does have a Language subfolder.  The subfolder itself has no files in it, but has 10 subfolders, one for each language.  Those folders themselves have a PreSetup folder (plus others) with the 003.txt, etc.  Should I be taking all the files out of the sub-subfolder and putting them in the root Language subfolder?  Why isn't this happening automatically?

No, don't do this.
BGT creates the Language.txt during the installation process. (It should contain your selected language.)

Did you check after or before the installation of BGT?

(Also try installing BGT alone, not the whole BWP.)

Both before and after, since I've got copies that are pre- and post- install.  The file isn't there for either.  I'll try a stand-alone BGT installation and report back.  I will also re-download a fresh copy of BGT to make absolutely sure there isn't something wrong with my current one (though I've already done this once).

Thanks again for the continuing help.

A solo install of BGT works just fine and creates the language.txt file just as it should.  It is the BWP install that is not doing it properly.  For some reason it appears to be somehow skipping the language.txt creation step, and that is screwing the rest of it up.  The only thing I can think of is that I have a combination of US and UK versions of BG1/TotSC.  I grew up in the UK and have a UK copy of BG1.  However, I have lived in the US for a long time and my TotSC, BG2, and ToB are all US products.  This has never caused me a problem of any kind, but perhaps it is the reason.  I am going to attempt to run the BWP installation after manually inserting the language.txt file and see what happens.

Yep, that did it.  Manually inserting the language.txt file into the BGT folder was all that was needed.  I don't know if my combo US/UK versions were why the BWP program was skipping over it, but that was the problem.  All seems to be working fine now.  Many thanks for all the help, everyone.

Thanks for your interest and your testing. I've not known this before, that the combination US/UK could make problems.
Good that you solved and report this. I hope no more problems will show up, so happy gaming. :)

I have installed NEJ2V691 with BWP megamod and beyond the normal problems (2 Yoshi's, Shar-Tel has lines from BG) I haven't noticed anything. I'm still in Athkatla (both Nej parts done) but so far so good.

Thanks for your testing, but why you have not try NeJv6.91 with the NeJ v6.9.4 patch? But good to know that v6.91 works.
