Lastly, I'm not sure if this is a bug, or intentional, but I have a bunch of bandit scalps. I remember selling them to someone in my first play through, but couldn't find anyone, so I googled up a walkthru to double check. It says Officer Vai is the person, and she should be in the Jovial Juggler. I've gone in their like ten times and haven't seen her yet.



Officer Vai only appears if you've cleared the Nashkel Mines.

There are some evil lookin' gals in one room at night who summon a demon if I talk to them (pretty sure that is new), but no Officer Vai.


Northern Side of the Sword Coast content. Have fun sticking some weapons in them if you're far more experienced ;)

never done it before but when i`ll have some time i`ll start new and try to confirm your error.

Thanks that you will test this. This bug is reported since v5.1 and if you have the same problem, then we must find a solution for it. At the moment we don't know which mod corrupts this tutorial-scene.

Very early in the game I pick-pocketed Algernon, and I got Baldur's Cloak which was CHA +2, and let me do charm person pretty much at will. I don't even recall if there was a limit. I'd charm monsters all day long and have them fight each other (if I recall). I pick-pocketed him again, but this time he had Algernon's cloak, which gave the CHA +2, but no charming.

I'm only level 3 (haven't had much time to play sadly), and quickly I've wandered into monsters that can only be affected by magic weapons, and I sure haven't gotten any yet. There are some for sale, but I haven't gotten any as loot yet.

Are this main encounters/monsters or random ecounters/monsters or both?

1- The BG2 fixpack tp2 located in the Big World Fixpack. There is no instructions for it's use in BWP 5.2 so I am wondering if you use it at all times even if you are installing Baldurdash v166 as well.

If you want to install BG2 Fixpack and Baldurdash together you need the fxes of both mods. If you want only BG2 Fixpack, so don't use this fix, but use the BG2 Hotfix mentioned in the BWP Improvements.

2- For Instruction 22.12 Iylos v1.1. If you are using Iylos v2.3 instead of v1.1 Do you still use the fixes in the Big World Fixpack. (ie. ascension.d file) The BWfixpack.bat still uses it.

No, you don't need it anymore. The fixes are only for the corresponded modversion.

3- For Instruction 23.02 SCSII v6. If you are using SCSII v 7 instead of v6. do you still use the fixes in the Big World Fixpack. (ie. SCSII tp2 file and the celestial.tph file). The BWfixpack.bat still uses them.

No, the same I mentioned above.

4- The Nathaniel-SOA fix (ie. FHNAT.bat) There is no instructions for it's use in BWP 5.2 so I am wondering when you use it.

Sorry, we missed that. This fix will installed with the BW Fixpack.

5- Hoppy's Yeti fixes. Can you copy the Bams after the Mega install is finished, including End Biff, or does it have to happen straight after BP is installed.


If you have installed BP put the files into the override directory to overwrite the existing files. If you want to use the Install.bat, you can put the files after the whole installation into the override directory.

As I have said before, I am only installing BG2 mod content and am only really a player. I am starting to learn how to use NI and DLtcep so will be able to follow instructions.

So with that said I will keep you informed on how I get on with the install and how I get on with playing and any problems I encounter. Hopefully I will be of some assistance to you and others with some testing as I play. Anything I can help out with, just ask but remember I may need instructions at the present time....

You are probeably talking about Vampiric Wolves which are added by Norther Side Of The Sword Coast to areas like Temple Of Morninglord or Wilderness Area between beregost and Nashkel - i was able to find some +1 arrows and cast magic missile - it was enough to kill them.

That isn't a bug. I think someone intentionally replaced the Baldur's Cloak (way too powerful) with Algernon's cloak, and I'm saying this is a good thing.

Thanks for your help, but the BWP is made on the following mods:

BG2 Fixpack
BGT Trilogy
BP-BGT-Worldmap

That means, our installation guide uses in each combination this mods and recommend these for the MegaMod installation. But that doesn't means, that we are not interested in your information and your run through. If you have comments and/or problems so made a new thread like "My BG2 Install" and be sure, we are looking into it and if you get problems, we'll help.

Vanilla BG1 had Baldur's Cloak, which I thought was a big exploit in how powerful it was, and how easy it was to get very early on.

Hello there! I've been trying to install The Big World project twice not and I can't seem to get past stage in the install that handles BGT...
I've followed the instructions in the manual and everything seems to work fine until the BGT install... Here's a picture of the installer, not really sure what to do or what the problem could be >_>

I think it's the part with the BG install path, but I've entered it correctly as you can see in the picture but nothing happens..

Anyone has a clue? :S

YOu have to write your path to the place where you installed bg1

Hello. I have a huge problem with NEJ. Every time I try to enter area tt1000 loading bar gets about to 1/4 full and then ctd, that is not all, the same happens with a lot of outdoor areas of NEJ. i know that all of the mods before Keto work fine with Nej because i checked by starting the game almost after each mod (i would have continued but the game is to unstable whitout end biff). Everything worked fine with previous versions of BWP and the only new mods i added are viconia friendship, npckit and 1pp(v2, fire swords, color staff), now i somehow doubt that viconia friendship and 1pp are the problem. It all started when i downloaded new versions of certain mods (don't ask witch ones, except scsIIv7, Iylos i don't remember). Also NTotSCv156 patch doesn't work(it wont install itself), something about file NTotSCDLGFix.d invalid argument (whatever that means). Now for other stuff: when i install BPv177a it says something about spell cats grace during install (no error just some weird stuff), then when I install scsIIv7 it tries swapping some files(don't ask witch ones can't remember anymore, sorry, all I know it's in smarter mage and priest component) but can't and then copy's something and moves on(it installs fine), then if I use NEJ2BIFFER.TP2 from fixpack Setup-NEJ2BIFFER.exe won't start automatically Setup-Nej2.exe, there also seems to be problems with thief stronghold, after I take over renald's guy shows up asking to pay up as he should but then after I pay a few times I get that notice over head again that he's waiting for money again and when I get to the guild to pay he is not there and I lose the guild, then I go to renald pay him money to get the guild back but as soon as I pay I get instantly the notice that I didn't pay my dues and I lose the guild again(yes I'm using multiple strongholds tweak and I will rather loose the guild than not install this), then there are problems with tdd & rot kits if I install any of them before refinements the mod wont install because it says file name_of_the_kit doesn't exist or isn't recognized (this is a first it never happened before, it breaks off when it starts to copy the kits and runs into ones from tdd or rot),also the first component from spitems doesn't work because items it changes have wrong/mixed up descriptions (the bonus merchant at ribald's sells them), there also seems to be a problem with Sion(he is immortal and not either the ctrl-y or uberweapon can kill him) from guarded compound(i think it has something to do with restored twisted rune quest), I also get ctd when I install that Sylmar battle something(1/4 full than ctd), now I don't know witch mod adds this but there is a guy in one of the inns in promenade and you can buy a bottle from him for about 50k gp when I use the bottle i get the option to insert a coin and when i do the game freezes.
I also have some questions i would like answered (thank you, these are very important questions):
Both the bdash and DSoA add improved copper coronet to the game, what i would like to know should i install both of them or do i just pick one?, by the way the imp. version of DSoA adds hostile guards to the back rooms that atack as soon as they see you (not really a problem but better I say something).
Both DSoA and bp add Improved Crypt King & Gnome Fighter/Illusionist Encounter to the game what i would like to know shoud i install both of them or do i just pick one because in game there doesn't seem to be any problems but you never know?
What's the deal with divine remix and refinements because when i install both of them they work fine together, or at least i don't see any problems in game?
What is really wrong with com encounters?, because you get ctd in druid groove even with out it (I read somewhere that this is supposed to be the problem).

@Leomar: What do you do with all those expanded ids files in big world fixpack because there are no explanations for what they are used in the guide except kit.ids?

Sorry for the VERY long post but i had a lot to say,it would be nice if somebody could help me with Nej because that is the only thing i can't get around.

Big thanks to all the modders out there for all this great mods.

PS: baldur's gate 1 and it's mods work great within the megamod. I had no problems with it except for the famous beregost crash but that can be avoided.

Hello. I have a huge problem with NEJ.
Sorry for the VERY long post but i had a lot to say,it would be nice if somebody could help me with Nej because that is the only thing i can't get around.

Earlier NEJ was a component of the megamods. Presently, however, the current versions of NEJ are not compatible
with most of the other mods of the megamods. The "old" compatible version used here is no more
supported by the mod's author. Above all there are absent a lot from the content which NEJ has presently.
There are attempts to integrate this great Mod in future into the megamod. Nowadays the current versions of
NEJ should be played, however, as an independent installation.


This is from our guide. You can read more about it there. We not support this old mod anymore. Therefore we recommen not to install it in our megamod. But you can try of your own, but it make for us the bugfixing harder. You have done this and we see, that problems will occur. So, we can't help you, because we're not experienced enough with it anymore. Sorry.

Everything worked fine with previous versions of BWP and the only new mods i added are viconia friendship, npckit and 1pp(v2, fire swords, color staff), now i somehow doubt that viconia friendship and 1pp are the problem.

Each new mod we have not tested and you include it in the megamod everytime you do this on your own risk. The new mods you mentioned we are testing at the moment to look for compatibility and installation order. Therefore we can't give you an answer about it. If you try for yourself new mods, please install them after the End Biff, so you can uninstall them. Now, you can't, because you have biffed them.

Also NTotSCv156 patch doesn't work(it wont install itself), something about file NTotSCDLGFix.d invalid argument (whatever that means).

That's right, we had the same problem. But now, erebusant has uploaded the patch anew. Download it again.

then there are problems with tdd & rot kits if I install any of them before refinements the mod wont install because it says file name_of_the_kit doesn't exist or isn't recognized (this is a first it never happened before, it breaks off when it starts to copy the kits and runs into ones from tdd or rot),

In addition we have no experience with character kits, but want to change this in upcoming BWP versions. But if you try kit-mods, so do this after the End Biff, so you can uninstall them if there problems showing up. The same: on your own risk.

Both DSoA and bp add Improved Crypt King & Gnome Fighter/Illusionist Encounter to the game what i would like to know shoud i install both of them or do i just pick one because in game there doesn't seem to be any problems but you never know?
What's the deal with divine remix and refinements because when i install both of them they work fine together, or at least i don't see any problems in game?

You can trust our guide. We have tested over and over all mods with their components. Is there something about a mod or component, we mentioned it in the guide. Your answers you can find there.

What is really wrong with com encounters?, because you get ctd in druid groove even with out it (I read somewhere that this is supposed to be the problem).

What do you do with all those expanded ids files in big world fixpack because there are no explanations for what they are used in the guide except kit.ids?

Many mods make changes on the ids-files and other mods can't use them correctly if you install them on top. So we fix these issues, so the next mods can be installed correctly.

PS: baldur's gate 1 and it's mods work great within the megamod. I had no problems with it except for the famous beregost crash but that can be avoided.


Nice to hear, but bad, that you have not installed our megamod correct, so that the problems could be come from the installed NeJ, the character-kits and the mods we have not tested, yet. This makes the problemsolving really hard. My first attemt is to uninstall the mods and kits we have not tested, but you can't do that, because the biffing. So we don't know, if the additional mods cause the problems. Sorry. I hope someone else could help you.

plot character in BTL) leaves during the "A Missing Fence?" quest which is introduced by

This has been resolved as of RR v3.91. In order to prevent the incompatibility, Arledrian's new quest which is introduced by Rogue Rebalancing will not occur if Kova or Kiyone are in the party.

Thanks for your help, i will keep trying to install Nej and see what works with what. Nej is simply to good to be left out and I hope someone will remake the mod(and add part 3) to be fully compatible with BWP. About kits I know that the ones from divine remix won't cause problems because i had them installed (and some other kits, as I sad the problem with the kits is a first it never happened before neither with tdd or rot or any other kit, but I will install them at the end in the future, I read that tdd kits have problems if you install them at the end?), I also left out a lot of mods from this install(I will include them in the next attempt). Nej and kits are not the culprit for Beregost crash it happens with or without them (crash is rare but happens sometimes). 1pp works with the megamod, I always use it (have to see what happens with viconia friendship but I don't think there will be problems). You didn't answer my question about expanded ids files(I know they fix problems), what the guide doesn't say is where to put them(most of it anyway). There is a mod called p5 tweak try it out and maybe you can include it in BWP (component drop items on freeze death only because others won't work with megamod).I'm not new to megamods and I have been installing and playing all sorts of mods for a very long time(always found ways around problems) and will continue to do so. As I said thanks for help, love the BWP guide, it would take me a lot more days to install everything without it, hope it will continue to grow and improve.

I have also some suggestions for BWP:

I think Shar-Teel and Drizzt npc mods should be removed from BWP because tdd adds Shar-Teel and rot adds Drizzt so there's no point to have them.

Also does anyone still have scsIIv6 because I wish to test something(i think either the new version of scsII or one of the hla modifications causes problems with Nej because everything else before that is compatible with Nej for sure including bgt tweaks and bg2 tweaks), is it safe to use mid biff v2.1 and then install other mods because it is hard to see what causes problems with Nej if i have to wait half an our to move(massive slowdown), also there is a new version of end biff v2.1 so is it still necessary to cut songlist.2da and copy file tt1004.tis from override to a safe place.

I've just imported my save file and started a new BG2 game .Got some minor problems when playing.
1.tt1000(NeJ) unreachable
2.The genie,who was supposed to inform Drizzt about his friends and trigger the whole plot,appeared even when my team was beyond ar0400
3.Auren's dlg turned out to be a mess
4.After got caught in her sight,Star will ask you if she could rejoin you every few second untill be approved.(I have to Ctrl+Y...)
