I can't remember if I made some suggestions as to how the coding can be changed in that old thread. As far as i remember there was a problem with Thalantyr Upragede Mod if you spoke to Thalantyr before doing this quest it was unsolvable without setting globals.
I did a search on this and found a possible solution by Ascension64, this is a temporary stop-gap IMO. I CLUAConsole(ed) in a second THALAN and talked to him. Results: Got 750 xp and that part of the quest was complete. As I said, this seems to be a temp measure. A more permanent measure requires a detailed examination of the files for the Thalantyr Item Upgrade. Erubusant is already looking into it.

Oops! It seems I overlooked something. If you change ChloeDia.d to compile her dialogue to something other than Chloe.dlg, you'll also have to change her CRE files to use that dialogue.

I'll attempt to do this mega-mod, and if it doesn't work, oh well. I can always revert back.
I downloaded the PDF of instructions for 5.1, and I figured I would just follow the instructions. I installed BG1, TotSC, patch 5512, BGII, ToB, patch 26498 (noting that there is a beta 26499, but installed the 26498 as instructed), and then I'm suddenly stick very early on in the instructions.
I downloaded almost all the mods from the list, save for a few that very obviously humor mods (game immersion breaking) and I only downloaded a few of the NPC mods.
But the instructions state I should unpack them into a separate folder. The very first two mods mentioned are the respective text patches for BG1 and BG2. They use the same naming schemes. If I unpack these two mods into a separate folder, I'd overwrite the files. I'm assuming I should install the BG1 Text Patch over BG1, and the BG2 Text Patch over BG2, but this would be delineating from the instructions at a very early point. I'm also not sure at what point then mods should be installed before or after I install BGT to port over BG1 content into BG2.
It doesn't help that the PDF links to a list in German.
Thanks!

The order of the mods is explained very well in the the instruction, I didn't get where your problems are?

Forgive me, but I am new to IE modding. Some might say that you shouldn't start with a mega-mod, but I'd like to get as much out of my BG/BG2 experience as possible. Why do things half-way?

Thanks that you choose the "BiG World Project". You're not alone with your opinion.

That's right what you're doing here. Not try to take other versions of the Patches/Mods as declined in the manual. This versions are be testet and works fine.

That sounds good.

We will describe it better in the next instructions. Put the Text Patches directly in the right directories, not in the separate folder.
BG1 Patch --> BG1 game directory
BG2 Patch --> BG2 game directory
Therefore you will have no problems with it. Unpack and start the patches in the respective directories at first before you start to install the mods. But the textpatches are only for the german version. If you want to play an english version don't install the patches. We have a german and an english manual. Download the manual you needed.
It doesn't help that the PDF links to a list in German.
That's right, that's why Marvin and I reworks the link-list. Next week the link-list will be released in German and in English.

Hmm, you know that there is an English Instruction, right?
The order of the mods is explained very well in the the instruction, I didn't get where your problems are?
Marvin
Thanks for both responses!
The English PDF says to download all the mods from the German list. The English instructions then state quite clearly to take all those files and extract them into one folder.
If I should install the text patch first, that isn't clarified. Perhaps people in-the-know in the BG/IE community already know this. If I should avoid the text patch because it is for Germans only, that wasn't clarified in the English PDF. What is even more confusing is that I have been taking the German pages I come across and running them through Google translate, and it says that the text patch is for English versions.

Should I be using Baldurdash or another text patch for English versions?

Therfore we make an own Link-List in German and English without use a translation tool. Then this prevents the misunderstandings. In Addition we will update the instructions for that.

No. Follow the instructions and install the mods. All english textfixes will be made through the corresponding mods.

The instructions state to download NeJ2v42b and then versions 6.02 as well.
Some quick Googling shows that it is up to version 6.94, and that users are reporting successful installs of 6.94 with BGT. Could/should I edit the install.bat to account for this newer version, or should I stick with the old version?

The "BiG World Project" is not compatible with NeJ2 v6.94. What Dragonian said is right. All information about the oldest and the newest version you can read in the instructions on page 20.

Thanks again for your assistance. I have run into a small bump in the install process. I have BG1 installed in C:\Program Files\Baldur's Gate as opposed to Black Isle\Baldur's Gate, so the setup-BGT.exe just hung there. Might I suggest the next version allow you to specify your BG1 path via %1 when you run the .bat file?

Bug #1- When the Wild Mage (insert name) the Magnificent tracks you down the first time you rest outside and attempts to kill you, the use of his Wild Magic spells will sometimes crash the game. As a player I have been unable to test it if the same will happen when the player character uses it or an NPC in the party.
Bug #2- After the Nashkel mine quest where you leave the mine and return to the city to talk to the mayor. When you select the option to tell him of the half-orc and give him the sample, a journal entry updates that says "Inside the Drow City" or something to that effect. My guess it is the same as the Baldur's Gate 2 quest. My only problem is that it says in the journal entry that I have been detected in the Drow city and going around will require precaution. Well I wonder if this quest stage will hold when I actually reach that quest, making it very difficult to complete.
Thanks for your time! If I find anymore bugs I'll let you know.

On page 24 in the instructions you can read the following:
5.1.3. Double-click the Setup. The DOS dialogue appears:
Choose your language: 0 [English]
Install Component [Baldur's Gate Trilogy - Core 1.05b]? [Y]es
The Installation stops and you must enter the directory path. Possibly you receive in the DOS
window no prompt, but see only the flashing cursor.
Type in the full path to Baldur's Gate. This is usually: ?C:\Program Files\Black Isle\Baldur?s Gate?.
Press enter.
That means, if the installation hung, you see the flashing cursor. Type in your destination path
"C:\Program Files\Baldur's Gate" and press enter. The installation goes on.

Excellent instructions, and the auto installation is wonderful. Nothing went wrong with the installation, and the game has run smoothly until: (Forgive me if this has been said before, I did not see it)
It sounds good, which functioned the installation fine. Have you installed all specified mods or have you left some out?
Thanks for your time! If I find anymore bugs I'll let you know.
Thanks for your bug report. We will check your both bugs by which they are caused.

Just Wondering, will Assasinations be in the next version of the Big World Project Instructions?
We try to get each new mod and new mod-version in the instructions. "Assassinations v1" likewise belongs to it.

Assassinations mod is already available on the mod's site - as the mod's author, I assure you that it's absolutely safe to install it together with other small quest mods, such as Tower of Deception or my Dungeon Crawl. Have fun playing!
