Description of the Mod

I'm not looking for a walkthrough, just a general description. A readme or something. Apparently there have been readmes or descriptions posted on other sites (or on the non-functioning non-forum part of Spellhold Studios), but there's nothing I can find.
I really might be interested in this mod, but there's not enough information out there to let me know if it's worth mucking up an installation for. Some additional information (but well short of a walkthrough) would be fantastic.
Thanks!

If you new-ish to the whole MegaInstall way of playing, I recommend not installing CtB because you're likely to miss its specific charms.
I would recommend installing it without other big mods.

I can understand not wanting to reveal details about "quests and items," I can't understand the desire to say nothing at all about anything--to go so far as to fail to make available previously available information (there apparently was at least a readme once upon a time). I've tried to avoid all the spoilers in the topics, but things I have accidently caught seem to indicate there may be an option to have 8-member parties within this mod. If so, that would be pretty interesting and worth trying, whatever the value of the "quests and items." But somehow telling potential users that information would ruin it?
I don't want to know the details about the quests added, but I do want to know if the mod removes all the original areas of the game and creates an entirely new storyline, for example, or if it replaces the 2nd edition D&D ruleset with the author's own set of rules. And if it did either of those things, that's all I would need to know--I don't need to know what the new storyline is or the details of the new rules.
As it is, potential downloaders are given the choice of knowing nothing about the mod at all (other than where to find the download), or spoiling everything by reading the topics. It would be really nice to have something in the middle.

As much as I have only played with CtB once, I can assure you that it doesnīt remove anything from the original storyline, and neither does it change the ruleset. It just adds npcs, dialogue and items. I remember the Chores - they start before Chateau Irenicus and are about protagonistīs childhood in Candlekeep, and there were several mid-sized quests along the way, that you could but not necessarily had to do.

Hope that helps

Its a shame the author of this mod doesnt want detailed released, I know i personally dont give a rats arse about "exploration" I want to know whats going on with my game, and with this mod i dont know even know if its working Post Chores. Definatly going to be getting a uninstall. Thats the shame, for the author to make a mod and alienate players by not giving a guide on how to start or where to look for quests and it ends up not being played.

Most of the quests are more Dungeon crawls. I like the feel of the replay. It's kind of like playing BG1 or 2 with out a walkthrough. Just exploring a new game and falling in love with it. Since I have used Near Infinity a lot in the past months, I had to investigate how quests and dialogs go. More technical but a lot less spoilers. The bugs seem almost gone but there is still room for mistakes in the quests not finishing. Like SoS, CtB uses a lot of GLOBAL triggering that if the Globals don't set, you may have to edit or reload. It just has its own frustrations like other big mods.
I thought someone was writing a walkthrough? Strontium Dog?

Approaches to playing the game differ as do tastes in all. You do not care for exploration, but other players just might. I have played some parts of the mod two times and I had no problems with bugs of any sort, if that is what you mean. But roleplaying can mean other things than sitting the game through with a walkthrough in your hands. Its a shame the author of this mod doesnt want detailed released, I know i personally dont give a rats arse about "exploration" I want to know whats going on with my game, and with this mod i dont know even know if its working Post Chores. Did CBisson really say that? Besides, ALL details needn't be published, but a general idea of new quests, how many new areas, lines of dialogue, particularly remarkable features, would still be great. It's best to think of the mod as a journey of discovery. The developer specifically did not want to have all details pre-published. If you have a problem with that, best not to install it.
In my opinion, the current SHS Download Centre description of the mod hints nicely on the statistics, but the quest list doesn't mean much (there are even entries that say 'not a quest'!).
It might be better to generalise the quest list a little more, describing distribution, how to start, and special details if applicable.
It would also be good to point out any specific 'selling' points in the description that might 'grab' the window-browsing player.
If anyone is up to revising the mod description, submission are very welcome.

I've been consulting it while trying to resolve the incompatibility between the "Shadow Thief Improvements" component of RR and the "Captured!" quest from CtB.

I'm quoting (paraphrasing?), from memory, from the TeamBG days.Did CBisson really say that? It's best to think of the mod as a journey of discovery. The developer specifically did not want to have all details pre-published. If you have a problem with that, best not to install it.
That might work.It might be better to generalise the quest list a little more, describing distribution, how to start, and special details if applicable.
