BG II & vista

I have recently re-installed my baldurs gate I & II with the intent to combining them with BGT, however I found once I had BG II installed and ran for the first time before running the BGT install that the menu graphics & text are corrupted, although I've not gone so far as to start a game yet.
Anyone got any ideas?

From the error reports, it seems to indicate either a corrupt install (from defective media), game corruption introduced by a savegame or a mod being installed to an incorrect place, where it can't find this file.
