Problems with D'arnise Keep
#1
Posted 20 September 2007 - 11:22 AM
The Problem is pretty straight forward, I'm doing the Nalia quest in D'arnise Keep, and TorGal simply doesn't die. No matter how much damage I inflict, he just won't lie down. I have "Debug Mode=1" in my baldur.ini, so I have tried "Ctrl+y" to kill him, without any luck. I have also tried respawning him with the "CreateCreature" command, yet he is still impossible to kill. I thought that maybe just setting the global for TorGal to him being dead would help, but I can't figure out how to do this, can't find the correct variable and command. On top of this, I noted that the way up from the cellar of the keep (AR1301) wasn't applicable, I couldn't use it.
One other thing is that my worldmap says that Waukeen's Promenade (AR0700) is unreachable, so I have to use the "MoveToArea" command to get there.
Any help would be greatly appreciated :-)
Thanks.

Drop the attached Torgal.cre in your override folder, but make a backup of your existing file just in case. Moreover you have to replay that area from an earlier save.

I've had troll problems in the past too and this is the only "sure" workaround I ever found for my games in order to never have troll bugs again.
Just install the "streamlined trolls" component from Weimer Tactics Mod. It completely changes troll scripting granting them some high physical resistances but the trolls never ressurect or anything. When their hp are reduced to 0 they just die, instantly.
Just use it AFTER bp. It is completely compatible as far as I know / tested.
My two cents,
Rad.

Radagast: The problem wasn't with the acid or fire, TorGal simply wouldn't lie down, just kept being "Near Death", but perhaps I should try that mod nevertheless, thanks for your advice anyhow :-)

Ye, i know its an old specific bp-torgal issue, but nevertheless I never liked the way trolls were scripted in infinity engine games (made the game go slower too and lost much precious time-not to mention unkillable troll bugs depending on what mods u use) so I just use that component since I learned about it, since it also fixed the bugs and improved my gameplay.
No worries it's just my opinion. Your choice.

Or you can do what I do in my installs to deal with it once and for all.

i installed streamlined trolls component but torgal still doesn't die!!!
i also replaced the old torgal.cre with the new one. still no difference
i also tried the transform to mind flayer trick, that doesn't work either
what to do?!?!?!?!?!?!
edit: okay, nevermind, the mind flayer trick worked. but only after many tries
