Better late than never
I enjoy it very much. It is a thing that has made my day a bit better (I am really not having a good one) like the shield, the armor, the look in the face and the overal composition.
I will describe the holy symbol a bit better now, because after talk with one of the designers (eKatherina lives in Vienna as well; and has given a lot of zeal into all the holy symbols (not mentioned here, she just went with the details she knows of the book)) the symbol has become more defined.
The basics are the same, but slightly different what you have drawn. I would like one of the symbols to match. Now the shield is unique and beautiful, as are the shoulder paths, so I am now just talking about the one on the seem of the vestement. Really don't change the rest, it's just... right, no other word needed.

The holy symbol is like this: A half rising sun with three whirls on left and right, that move just like the ones on your shield and shoulder paths, but curl up to really a thin line that curls up on itself (like a young twig). All 'rays' are quite equally spaced. The one in the middle goes first in front of the blade (swirling right; like the top two on of the right part of your shield), curls behind it, and than at just below the hilt (so still in the metal part) curls back in front of it to make it's final twist and end curl inwards.
The sun is cracked (just some crack lines) where the sword penetrates the sun.

Oh and can you mabye give the vandal a spearhead, so mister sinister looking has a weapon
Oh, it needs to white human so to say! Black and red perfered for clothes.

Do you have an actual image of the symbol?

I got it!

She made several more sketches, but here is the holy symbol of the god Magus to which the symbol is coupled. It is is in the right lower corner.

Again, sorry for the delay ;. I did get things done over the past couple days, though . Hope you likes! If not, I still have an unfinished version of this I can fool around with as well as a file with just plain ol' rifle lady should you have some other ideas.



On a not-so-good note, I'm actually rather unsatisfied with the other drawing I started of her and, until I can fix it to some degree I can deal with, I'm afraid whether I finish it or not is up in the air. I'll see what I can do with it, though.

I would like a slight adjustment if I may say so, but I think it will cost not too much trouble. The point is find the cape a bit too bright, thinking more of a dark cape for at night so you can hide better. So if possible I would like to see a darker version? I don't mind the gloves, it is mainly the cape I think of as too bright for what it is probably used for. I do heavily enjoy the blurry stone street (at least that is what comes to my mind) with her shadow.

As for the other drawing, you are the artist your freedom. I am happy with every drawing I get and every drawing is one more. I can totally understand that you don't want something you are not satisfied with to be in there. It's cool.

@Orthodoxia: Welcome and glad you want to give it a go . Just tell me what details you need and I will explain further. On commonets about your sketch; Their eyes may be even larger and more in a round form (think of an Ultraloth). I like the pose as well as the whisps of shadow (at least that is what I reckon you mean) at the feet. It is also nicely lithe.

So questions. You said they were humanoid but: Hair or no hair, ears or no ears, and since it says no clothing do belts for pouch count as such. Also, if they are interested in knowledge would a shadowy library suit as a background?

As said in the first post pouch is needed, suppended on a rope as sketched would be the best.

Ears - yes, but more like tiny holes than really ears, nothing you can really see unless you examine close
Hair - actually that made me think if I want that or not, and decided yes. They are already a bit too ultroloth looking and would be more so if bold (Ultralot = black-skinned overlarged orange/red eyes outsider). I would like the hair color to be a grey tone with perhaps even streak of black and white in between.

I leave it up to the artists what the background will be. For their studies it is logical, but they could just as well be seen in an alley gazzing upon us. The way you wish it.
I would not draw anything else. Absolutely no candle, and no big book shelves. They are more of knowledge through observing than books, so even though a library isn't that odd, it shouldn't be a great one. So the simple three books showing is just right.

[edit] I am actually having second thoughts about the eyes... To step away from the Ultraloth and because I like the way you drawn them with the curl towards the back. I still think they need to be a bit larger. They are now somewhat large, but not big, if you know what I mean.

Okay

I actually enjoyed the 'whisps' of shadow from the sketch better than the hard lines that are now shown for it. So I would say you can, if possible, blur out with the darkness so there is no true beginning and no true end, which makes it look more shadowy.

The eyes are not supposed to be like our with pupils, but entirely light purple with stars within them.

The right hip, for us from the left, is a little boney. I would like to have it round, they may be lith, but I there 'shadowy' and that, for some reason I can't really say myself, should not be a boney figure in my view. Same goes a bit for the chin.

I actually would remove the column and leave the opening, as a sort of door or window... gives a nice idea of their gazing.
Oh and for the cover of the books, if possible make them 4 different and odd (non-material plane) languages

Wispy Shadows will efficiently be made in Photoshop (hard lines are necessary for flat-coloring), so - check

This is what I have for now (still very much in progress), started coloring before I got the message.

EDIT: I can change the column to be a vertical stained glass window if you'd like. Effectively. it would be the only colorful thing in the picture, apart from his eyes, since everything else is in shadow, or shadowy.

Orthodoxia, you are my heroine. Especially the last version is very mystic and very dark. I love the star pilar, and I love the shadowing on the creature itself. Wonderful work.

Would you believe that this is my first seriously colored AND finished picture I've ever done - as in, I've actually went on and painted it properly and not just cheated with flat-coloring here and there. Everything else are just half-finished/never-to-be-finished sketches. But thanks, it means a lot to know that I've improved since coming to SHS
