Edit: Just noticed a little piece of his armor got chipped of in the revision... His right shoulder pad (for us left) is not halfly removed...

Yeah, I noticed the chip when I posted the pic earlier. I considered fixing it then, but I needed sleepy . Fixed the grass while I was at it, too.

Just also added the descriptions of some characters that would be like the iconic characters Mialee, Redgar and such. For this I just give a general description and would like to give artists for these things a bit more freedom... and maybe some other artists since it is now more the 'regular' Dwarf and Elf

Whoa, how'd I miss the iconic characters update ? I'll likely consider a couple of those, too...

Anyhoo, I decided to get back to the Goomaker. As I suggested before, I'm not very good at visualizing mechanical/technological stuff, but I doodled off a couple of rough designs for your perusal, anyway. Not sure 'bout either one, meself (I guess the 2nd one's kinda cool by virtue of seeming bulkier and less humaniod), but I'll let you decide.

I like the second one too.

Especially leg contruction and the like. I would like to see something resembling hands along with the tentacles though, for it also has slam attacks.
And as you know I am more favourite of a-trois-quart drawings, but I surely like it!

Cooool. I'll see if I can turn that design into a more proper drawing then. And yeah, I intended to give it hands much like the first design, but I just got a bit lazy . To be honest, though, I'm not particularly confident about this one, so if I do happen to fail on it, I'd like to try my hand at the goblin and human warrior ones (actually, I'd like to try them out, regardless, hee hee).

Very nice!!! I am happy and confident! I love the overal stance! Once again the joints are extremelly well done, like those of the hands and the right leg (for us left)!

Colouring, I would say the following: The 'eyes' dark, dull red (they have infravision, so that is why). Metallic hues, like the Ironsoul for the plates of metal. A dark(er) metal colour for the joints.

I would like to ask to make the metallic whips actually... more like you did before. They seem a bit too bulky now and too un-metal (yep, I know I just invented a new word ) like. I liked the segmented style, along with the electricity sparks (though I know that that is just additional fluff for later). I reckon their base needs to 3/4 of now as they mechanically speaking seem to take up to much space for ready functional hands.

After long looking I also reckon the right leg (for us left) needs to move just a fraction, probably showing a bit more the joint, inward. It now seems almost completely stretched, which would be slighlty illogical for this type of construction.

Right-o, understood on the whips.

As for how that leg is stretched out, I made a few minor changes to it, but as the pic is posted above, the leg more or less matches how it's stretched out on that sideview sketch I posted before. Is that not the way you want it? Also, I guess I'll add that, in the new pic, the other leg is meant to be pulled a bit further back than it is on the sketch to show a greater stride.

I'll try a different approach to explain, perhaps it will help.
This drawing of the megom, use the goat-like leg structure. This means the "knee" bends backwards. Now if you look at a goat, or Satyr or deer if that helps, they never fully stretch legs forward as their joint is not very good at that (though it is biologically seeing actually a better design than our forward bending knee). So the most forward stride still has a slight bent in it, where has the non-moving leg has a bend, sometimes added by bodyshiftment to increase stability as central point of gravity is moved above the leg (think of when you try to stand on one leg and than bend it (and than reversed as our joint is the other way around).
So all said and done, and hopefully making some sense, even in forward stride the leg needs slight bending. In a standing position he would have his legs in a position like you leg that is most to the beg in the side-drawing (think again of a deer, joint is also backwards in rest). Moving forward means bending that knee-joint backwards and than striding as far foward as possible (or jump in case of deer). So that is why I reckon it needs a slight more bent... (perhaps even both legs, for than it is better to visualize?)

I don't know how much this matters to our little argument, but goats and other animals with similar leg structures actually have forward bending knees like we do. The part that bends backward is their "heel" area. Essentually, it would be like us walking on just our toes. How legs like that function would likely be very different from how my megom, which does indeed have backward bending "knees," would walk.

For what it's worth, if you want to compare my megom's legs to those of an animal's, they're more like legs of an ostrich.

Another thing to keep in mind is, unless my megom's legs are pulled all the way back, there's gonna be some space between the upper and lower leg plates. I guess there has to be if it wants to walk at all. The space is not necessarily an indication that the leg is fully extended. As stated before, though, I made some minor edits there and fleshed out the whips more while I was at it.

But enough of that. I'm sure you wanna some my current pregress, yes ? Here ya go:

I like the new whips, perhaps a bit more pointy, but they surely have a nice feel. They seem to be the lenght of the arm, which is good as the whips reach further than the slam attacks. I reckon you are better at tech thingies than you thought

Just out o' curiosity, what is a-trois-quart drawing?

And a question more relevant to one of my next drawings: a gnome sniper scope? I could use some elaboration on this or, perhaps, any available reference pics of some sort if it greatly differs from normal sniper scopes.
