uhm..I was talking about STRING_SET. Will it patch both files when using standard STRING_SET @123 ~qwe~ or not?SAY ~Male line~ ~Female line~
thank youYou can find a few on this site : Dialog.tlk Store
I found the reference in the ModList at Pocket Plane.
You can find others in some kind of repository of older files at Weidu site.

yes, I understood this a bit laterAs for your base question (will it patch both files), the easiest way to know is to check by yourself. You can easily check that with a very simple TP2 file. Then open the files in Near Infinity or other TLK tool and check. For all I know and could check (and my version of the game uses the dialogF.tlk file), WeiDU always added the string to the dialogF.tlk file if only one string was provided.
yes, this is exactly my caseAnyway, using STRING_SET is strongly discouraged by the WeiDU documentation. You should only use it for patch purpose, such as Baldurdash text update. In general, there is always another way to change a string without overwriting an original string.

But what use will you find for Russian dialogf.tlk? The official distribution - or, at least, the distribution all Russian users have - has only one dialog.tlk. Unless 1C finally releases a proper translation, this arrangement will remain, hence all these BG2 mods that have been translated into Russian(BG2Tweaks, Fade, Xan, et cetera) will continue to have .tra files for one dialog.tlk only; they will not take a fanmade dialogf.tlk into account.
Are you sure of it? You mean, if I try to install some non-english mod intended for use with dialogF.tlk on my english installation, it will choke and die? I can't verify it right now, but that would be pretty stupid, I think.Doing otherwise will simply stop the mods compiling properly on one-dialog.tlk-installs.
