Is it supposed to be a big quest mod which doesn't affect the game flow?

It is a totally optional quest mod... yes. The only way it affects game flow is to make ToB longer, and hopefully better.

Just so you know, the mod in its current form is no more. However, all the content is being used and will be released in parts as we finish it. Part 1 should be in true beta testing before the end of the year.

If I understand what Cuv is saying, the mod will become just another mod to which can be installed with everything else.

Deactivated account. The user today is known as The Imp.

Everyone else in the team has moved on to other things. In fact, I had left for over a year.... but am back now. I thought you were gone too, Galactygon  Hehe... have some questions for you on the Bestial Animations... will PM you.

Everyone on the team agreed that the mod had died... but they also agreed with me that the content should be released in some form to be played or all of our hard work was for nothing. Anyways... the mod is safe, it is just being split up into seperate quests that will be released seperately. If the time comes when all the quests are finished... then I will make a restoration mod to bring them all back together into its full glory.

Will keep everyone posted as to the progress. Right now it is being worked on in a seperate hidden forum. And yes, it will be some type of quest pack release. Wish I could tell you more... but it shouldnt be too long before you see a part of it. End of the year most likely.

This is certainly good news. Please know that your hard work is appreciated.

I am still looking forward to this Cuv :) The flame of BGII still burns within me, though it has been kinda dim for a while.

Edit, i just noticed, though i joined 13th June 2002, this was my first post here. it took me over 5 years! :whistling:

Hey Sir B  Wow... talk about a ghost from the long lost past...heh. Good to see you are still around. Your cameo is still in the mod, btw... although it didnt get completely finished. And Jarata says "hello".

Yeah it has been a while. Still, BG is such a good game, like a great book read and re read over and over until the pages fall apart. I feel drawn to it. I'm feeling fired up about BG and DnD again.

I'm also intrigued by modding too. Kinda tempted to maybe make a few item things and maybe an NPC, though I'd have to do a lot of learning and spend a lot of time.. This game needs a decent non annoying cleric for good parties.

As for RTW, i'm sure you have your reasons for breaking it up (not sure how) but i can't help but feel i don't want to look at the paining until i know its all finished and there's no white spaces left. Good to hear I am still in it :D I'd offer to help testing but testing spoils that never seen before feeling. :-/

On behalf of all the lurking BG fans who have waited for years to play RTW thank you so much for deciding to release it... in any form. I've been reading about it on the various boards and waiting for it for so long that TOB seems incomplete without it now... I'm ecstatic to read this.

You are welcome. I will do what I can to get the quests released. Splicing them off is taking more time than I first thought it would... but things are progressing.

You really thought anything would have come of this? Come on, now...you should have known better. It's died just like the Broken Hourglass has died. These guys never had any intention of following through.

Quite the contrary, the project is still in progress, just in a different form.

And I am pretty damn sure JCompton & co are chugging away with TBH, as well, having spoken to him fairly recently about it.

Don't be so pessimistic! :) These things to take time.

The Broken Hourglass is quite definitely *not* dead.

Aw, damn, you mean those 9 quests I coded for Broken Hourglass in the last 2 months were a waste? Now that's pretty disappointing.

Kinda hard to believe when the site hasn't been any new news posts over there in almost a year. It gets kinda hard to take people's words when they have nothing to show for it. I would love to believe TBH is still in production, but there is nothing to lead anyone to believe it is still in production. Please, I beg you to prove me wrong. I was so excited when I first heard TBH was being worked on. I'd like to be excited again.

It's been a while since I spoke to Cuv but I get the impression this is on the back burner while other things take priority.. It's a shame because I think it would have been really cool. If I'm realistic, I think it just might well never make it as a BGII mod. BG is the greatest game of all time but the tech behind it is old now. You might see this repackaged in the future as a mod for another game. Maybe dragon age. Who knows. I remember Cuv telling me the story was adapted from pnp game i think, which means it could be adapted anywhere

if you read this cuv, hello say hi to the missus for me too.
