In my combo of Mega Mod there are two mods that start at the very beginning of BG2 - NEJ and RoT. Looks like there are two ways I could go:
a) through the portal to the first location of NEJ, or
b) through the Irenicus Dungeon to Waukeen's Promenade, taking the PC's I meet on the way.

I have some questions to all those of you who played a similar combination of these two mods.
1. Where to go first? Will I get back from the NEJ locations straight back to the Dungeon?
2. Which PC's should I take with me? AFAIK there are plenty of characters I will be able to join in NEJ, maybe with a small exception of a thief (Imoen, my Charming Rogue, seems to be a must). What about the Drizzt's company?
3. I'd really like to see Boo as Minsc's familiar and further develop Jah as a Priest of Sylvanus, so how to escape the Dungeon without losing them? Without losing a chance of joining later any PC's?
I'll be grateful for any help.

Go though the portal and play NeJ part 1 first if you want to play it at all. With NeJ there is 1 MUST have NPC (Hrothgar a Moonknight) and 2 other NPCs, both Priests, that can join you. Lots of dialogue with Bioware and NeJ NPCs. Take Minsc and Jaheira if you like. To play much of NeJ part 2 it is best to play a PC that is a mage (single or multi classed) or at least have one in your party (I have not played part 2 without being a mage so don't know how much differnce it makes or how much of part 2 is in the version you are playing, I have played so many different versions (even a pre NeJ version called 'Spine of the World' which I still have somewhere I think))

To play RoT you need only to have Drizzt in your party not all the 'Heros of IWD' so you can have Hrothgar and Drizzt in your party for NeJ part 2. Got all that??

Thanks, Chev! Got that! :woot: My charname is a 'blade singer', so I will have at least half-a-mage. ;)
And what about the Dungeon? Will I get back there and be able to go through it as in standard SoA?

Karimar,
Just a heads up with the NEJ part. When your are done with part 1 and ready to go back you won't have a lot of time for major quests before NeJ part 2 so just grab your new party and finish 1 awesome mod. Also, if you have played the standalone version of NeJ you will notice some content is missing in the BP adaptation. Just the way it is. Still a blast to play, though.
Have fun,
Hoppy

Nice hint - thanks, Hoppy! So far I've decided to clear the first Dungeon level and collect some gold or items I could sell. Will be looking for some good equipment there in the north. ;)
Thanks again, guys! Wish me luck! :)

One more question - it's not important enough to start a new topic. ;) While playing NEJ I discovered that these northern locations don't appear on my Worldmap. Whether I'm in Easthaven or Kuldahar the map still indicates Waukeen's Promenade. It's not a big problem, and I'm definitely not going to reinstall the whole thing once again, but I'm just curious - should it be that way? There is a separated mini-map in the upper-left corner of Worldmap, that looks very "northern" (mountains, snow, etc.), but no locations there.

It should be that way. You'll find when you travel to Icewind Dale for the RoT quests your party icon is located at City Gates. It all depends upon whether the mod author has included WM6 support or not as to whether you'll change locations on the Worldmap.

It takes a village...

I know that it's a big problem to follow the plot of the game if you have more than two big mods installed. However, please read the dialogues and listen to the narrated text. This is not a technical issue and it has nothing to do with the World Map. It is a feature of the mod.
